Lead

"Mrs Trappes doesn't know anything more. She admits to lying about her nephew being at her place and says he had told her about the Ute. That's why she stopped to look at it."

Glen focused on each member of his team then said, "She didn't want Ricky getting into trouble. She knows about his drug problems and tried to protect him." Glen ran his hand through his hair. "Fucking drugs. The world would be a better place without them."

He shook his head and focused on the people in front of him. "So that's where we're at with Ricky and Mrs Trappes. I don't think they know anything else." He jerked his head at the group. "Have we found any information about this fellow Ricky bought his drugs from? Shevlin, wasn't it?"

"Yeah, boss." Alex stepped forward. "We have a Cory Shevlin on the records. He's a piece of work. Middle man for the Dradagos family. We all know about them." Alex huffed and held a police profile picture of a scruffy blonde, bearded, good-looking brown-eyed man. "Cory Shevlin. Six, four. Hitman, drug runner, syndicate fighter. Woman beater. Likes a bit of rape with his breakfast. Real charmer. Trouble is he's never been charged with anything other than drug possession."

He passed the photo to Glen. "Pete and I spoke to Sergio Dradagos. He says Shevlin is his gardener." Alex chuckled as he said, "Yeah... right. He said he hadn't seen Shevlin for six months or more. That's all we could get out of him."

Alex pointed to Carmen and Kelly. "The girls went to Shevlin's last known address but no go. Shevlin moved out ten months ago. We haven't been able to track him. However, we have a lead on his sister. The girls are working on finding her."

Alex paused. "If Beau Hawkins worked for Cory Shevlin as Ricky Snider suggests, he could have found himself in deeper water than he intended."

"Thanks, Alex. Good work everyone." Glen pinned the photo to the board. "So, this case has started to take shape and lead us back down the Dradagos path where every other fucking drug crime in this city leads us."

Glen blew out a breath of air and shook his head. "I don't like the odds of finding Beau Hawkins alive. We need to concentrate on finding a body." He tapped the desk. "Ok. We all know what to do. Let's shake this thing up. Alex, Pete. I want the property out on Delaney Road searched." He looked at his notes. "Jack Standen's. If we don't find anything there, I want the Trappes' place searched too." Glen knocked on the desk once more. "I know this is going to be a mammoth task but we've got to do it." He looked around at the group. "Thanks, everyone. Let's get to it."

So glad they have a lead.
