"What the hell are you doing here?"
"What do you mean, what the hell am I doing here? What the fuck does it look like I'm doing?"
"We don't want you here!"
"Says who?"
"Me!"
"And who the fuck are you anyway?"
"Her father! I have a restraining order!"
Fin raced down the hall at the sound of men yelling. What was going on? Things had changed. Findlay was a better father and had given her a better life. Now he was yelling at someone. He hadn't done that for months.
She pulled her up in the middle of the lounge room. Fin sucked in her breath and her mouth gaped. Beau was at the door facing off with her father. A shiver ran through her body at the sight of him.
"Stop." She held out her hands. "Please stop." Fin sucked in another breath of air and was surprised that they stopped yelling and turned to face her. Beau took a step forward but Findlay shoved him backwards.
"I told you we don't want you here!"
"She's pregnant!"
"It ain't yours!"
"Like hell, it's not mine!"
Fin covered her ears. "Stop. Please... stop." Tears ran like a waterfall down her face.
"Fin. I'm here. I love you. I've come to take you home." Beau beseechingly. "It's my baby. Isn't it?"
She shook her head and sucked in another breath of air.
Beau's heart stopped beating just for a second. The Gallos. The fucking Gallos had got to her again.
"You can't do that, Cody. You can't come back like that and just take me again." Fin bit her lip. He wasn't Cody. He was Beau.
"Yeah... I know, but we belong together." Beau held his hand out to her. "You're carrying my baby, Fin. I want to take care of you and my baby. We talked about this... if it happened. I told you I would take care of you."
"She doesn't need you! I'm taking care of her!"
Beau ignored Findlay and cocked his head at Fin. "It is my baby, isn't it, Fin? We made a baby, didn't we?"
When she shuddered again and looked into his eyes Beau's heart leapt. He was going to be a father. Shit. He. Was. Going. To. Be. A. Fucking. Father.
The joy he felt spread to his face. "I know I can be a prick, Fin, but I want this. I want you and I want our baby. I'm sorry I hurt you. I didn't mean for that to happen but I've got myself sorted. I'll be a good father. A good husband."
She nodded and wiped her face with the back of her hands. "You are a prick, Beau. You left me and that makes you a prick."
Beau took a step forward. He blocked Findlay with his hand and smiled at his woman. "Yeah... I was a prick but I had to sort my family. My head. Cody. All that shit. Now I'm here to sort things with you. We need to talk."
He took another step towards her, cocked his head and grinned. "Can you live with a prick, Fin? Will you have a prick for a husband and father of your children?"
Fin blushed, glanced at Findlay and grinned. "I guess so. I've lived with a prick most of my life so I guess I'm used to pricks."
"I love you, Fin." Beau took another step and held out his hands to her.
The strength in his arms as he wrapped them around her told Fin she was home. She had missed him. His large hand cradled her head against his chest. She felt his strong heartbeat, the warmth of his body and his breath in her hair.
"I'm sorry, Fin. I'm so sorry for hurting you. Dragging you to the car like I did. For being angry. I'll never do that to you again. I promise. I want to make a good home for us."
She sighed. Just by holding her he already had.
"Don't look so fucking worried, Findlay," Beau said when he saw the distressed look on Findlay's face. "We won't be going far. If you're nice to me." Beau smirked as he continued, "I'll even let you visit."
Fin heard her father chuckle as he said, "You are a prick, aren't you?"
"Not as big a prick as you," Beau's chest rumbled as he said the words.
Fin lifted her head and peered at Beau. "Cody's dead, isn't he?"
"Yes." Beau looked into her vivid blue eyes. He cupped her face and said, "Cody's dead."
"Will you tell me about him? And your family."
"Yeah, honey. Of course. Can we go somewhere to talk?"
"Yes." She touched his cheek. "I want to talk."
Beau held her gaze with his. She had tears in her eyes. He put his lips on Fin's and kissed her. He pulled away, rested his forehead on hers, and then lifted his head to see Findlay scowling. "Could we have some privacy, Findlay?"
"No. She's not going out of my sight!"
"Findlay?" Beau cocked his head.
"If you hurt her, I'll..." Findlay jabbed his finger through the air. "I'll... I have a restraining order," he blurted. "You shouldn't be here."
"I'm not going to hurt her."
Findlay sighed and dropped his hand. He slumped in one of the chairs and let his arms dangle between his knees. "Go to Fin's room."
It seems that Findlay is coming around.
Are you happy that Fin has forgiven Beau?
I wonder if Beau and Findlay will be friends one day.
