[ Justin's POV: ]

The music continued to blast, hips swaying to the rhythm. I sat in the back from the Life of The Party with my boys, talking and laughing and pointing out any girl we thought was hot.

“I love coming to Denise’s parties,” Chaz put his feet up in a chair in front of him.

“They’re great. Her parents are out of town, she’s got alcohol, good music, it’s just a great time,” Ryan agreed, sipping another chunk of his beer.

“No parental supervision, and we never get caught,” I smirked, opening my third bottle of beer. Silence fell between the three of us as we let the loud music shout into our ears. After a couple of minutes of sitting and watching the party in front of us, Christian came back with a huge smile on his face.

“You went into the Life Of The Party?” Chaz asked him, handing him a beer bottle.

The Life Of The Party is just Denise’s term for the center of her living room, where the dance floor is supposed to be. This is where people find a partner, dance with them and just have fun. It’s also for her to make us meet new people if we’d like.

“Yeah, it was awesome,” Christian grabbed the bottle, sitting himself next to Ryan and getting started on devouring the beer. “There are so many hot girls in there, Jesus Christ.”

The boys and I laughed so loud, I bet a couple of people heard it over the music.

“Typical Christian,” Ryan smirked, placing his (now empty) bottle of beer near him and standing up.

“Where are you going?” I asked.

“Where does it look like I’m going, bro? I’m going to the Life Of The Party,” he winked, and I quickly placed my bottle next to his.

“Hold up, I want to go with you,” I yelled over the current song that blasted through the speakers. Ryan nodded and together, we made our way to the front and grabbed some snacks while scanning the crowd for a partner.

“Hottie alert, hottie alert, HOTTIE ALERT!” Ryan yelled, smacking my arm repeatedly to get my attention.

“What the fuck, bro? Stop touchi—Whoa, she’s hot,” I stopped mid-sentence as I saw the girl Ryan was referring to, bopping her head to the music and smiling at the dancing people. She held a drink in her hand and stood alone, lacking a partner to make her feel special for the night.

“I’m going to go dance with her,” Ryan practically drooled.

“What? No! I’m going to!” I protested, taking a step forwards only to be dragged back by Ryan.

“Justin, I saw her first. That’s not fair!” he complained, rolling his eyes.

I frowned, knowing he’s right.

“Fine, go ahead. Enjoy your dance,” I patted his shoulder. “If it doesn’t work out, I’ll mend her broken heart.”

He smacked my head playfully. “Hey!”

“I was kidding!” I laughed, shoving him towards the hot chick. “Go get ‘er, tiger.”

I watched as he approached the girl and began a conversation. Soon enough, with a nod of her head, they made their way to the Life Of The Party, joining the large group of dancing people. I smiled to myself and turned towards the table, grabbing a handful of chips and stuffing my mouth with them. I leaned on a nearby wall and tapped my foot in rhythm with the music when, suddenly, something bumped into me and the sound of a cup dropping to the floor filled my ears.

“Crap, I’m so sorry!” the voice said, and I looked up at the person responsible for this, only to be met by the most adorable, sexiest face I’ve ever seen in my entire life.

“That’s… That’s okay,” I cleared my throat, leaning down to pick up the cup that had fallen. Luckily, there wasn’t any liquid inside. “Here you go.”

“Thanks,” she smiled, taking the cup and wiping it with a napkin.

The music continued to provide upbeat rhythms into the room, and we both just stared at each other. She has beautiful eyes. They were my color, only a bit darker. It suited her perfectly.

“Hey, you want to, um… Dance?” I stuttered.

Wait… I stuttered? Justin Bieber does not stutter.

She took in a sharp breath. “Sorry, I was just leaving…” she said slowly.

“Leaving? Why? Not having any fun?” I pouted.

Her eyebrows rose. “How’d you know?”

“I can tell when a beautiful girl isn’t having the fun she deserves,” I smirked, lending my hand out to her.

More flirting, less stuttering. Now we’re talking.

Her gaze switched from my eyes to my hand as I waited for her to take it, so that I could lead her to the Life Of The Party.

“Come on,” I prompted softly. “Come dance with me.” My smirk fell to a sincere smile since the last thing I wanted to do was scare her away.

“I don’t think I should,” she said stubbornly.

I frowned. “Hey, don’t be so cold, just dance with me.”

Her lips pursed and she seemed to contemplate it before placing the cup on top of the table and taking my hand.

“I suppose I have time for a little dance,” she grinned.

“Ah, you’re a fancy one, aren’t you?” I chuckled, stepping ahead as we joined the Life Of The Party.

“You don’t like fancy girls?” she teased, “You’re missing out on an adventure.”

“Fancy girls are an adventure, huh? What are you trying to imply here?” I wiggled my eyebrows suggestively.

“I don’t know,” she smirked.

“You’re saying you’re an adventure, aren’t you?”

“Maybe. I guess you’ll have to explore that on your own,” she shrugged teasingly.

“Just call me Dora the Explorer, then,” I winked, and she threw her head back laughing as I pulled her close and we began dancing.

We danced through the entire song, enjoying each other’s company until the track was over and a new one started. I managed to convince her to dance with me for another song… And another… And another…

We danced for what felt like hours, each minute that passed by more energetic than the other. Soon, it was pretty late and she said she should go, and this time it was the final decision.

“Fine,” I pouted. “Can’t I at least take you home? Or do you have a ride already?”

She paused, scanning the crowd before shaking her head slowly. “I don’t…”

I held back the urge to smile. This is my chance.

“Then I could take you home, or anywhere you wanna go right now,” I held her hand. “I could even take you out, if you’d like.”

“It’s pretty late, I don’t know if I should g—”

“—Hey, don’t be so cold,” I interrupted, and she giggled.

“How many times are you going to say that? Is that your catchphrase?”

“Maybe until you stop being so cold. Just loosen up. Be fire for once,” I said, and she closed her mouth, staring at the floor.

It was silent for a while and then she looked up at me. “If you’re my ride, then we should get going.”

“Right,” I nodded, taking her hand casually and walking towards the front door. I spotted Chaz, Ryan and Christian looking at me from the back of the room, and I made a signal with my eyes to let them know I was leaving. I’m sure they’d be fine without me. They nodded, showing they understood and soon, we were in Denise’s front yard. Before we could reach my car, I pulled her close to me and leaned towards her.

“What’s your name, by the way?” I whispered seductively into her ear, sneaking a quick kiss on her jawline. I felt her body tense, causing me to smirk slightly. At least I had some effect on her.

“Why don’t you tell me yours first?” she countered, grinning up at me. I laughed softly. Something about this girl just made me happy inside, and I barely even knew her. I could tell she’s smart and she’s definitely, without a doubt, funny.

“I already told you my name. It’s Dora the Explorer,” I winked, and she had a laughing fit. I chuckled along with her and held her closer to me in case she fell over and died of laughter.

“Ha-ha-ha, oh my go—ha-ha!” she giggled uncontrollably.

It took a couple of seconds but she finally calmed down and I felt confident enough to release her without worrying about if she’d fall or not.

“Well, Dora, my name is Adria,” she smiled brightly, and I knew right off the bat that it was her true smile.

“Well, Adria, I’m afraid I might’ve lied to you tonight,” I teased.

“Oh really? And what could you have possibly lied to me about?” she laughed.

“My name,” I smirked.

She gasped playfully, “So you’re not Dora? What a shame. I’ve always wanted to meet a hot guy whose name was Dora the Explorer. You know, so he could explore me.”

It was my turn to laugh as hard as she had done earlier. Except I didn’t have to lean on her for support before I could regain my own composure.

“I’m sorry to shatter your dreams, babe. My true name is actually Justin,” I said. “Justin Bieber.”

“Justin..” she let my name roll out of her tongue. “That’s a nice name.”

“So is Adria,” I smiled, taking her hand again. “Shall we leave?”

“Sure,” she nodded. “Do you think you have time for a quick McDonald’s meal, though?”

“Don’t you desperately have to leave or something?” I chuckled, referring to the many times she was determined to leave.

“It can wait. It’s not every day I get to meet a guy as funny as you,” she said. And she was the first girl to say something like that to me without blushing.

“Is that so?” I grinned, as we strolled over to my car.

“It’s true.”

By that time, we finally reached my car and I opened the door for her, waited for her to go in, and shut the door before walking over to the driver’s side.

“So McDonald’s?” I asked.

She nodded, “It’s on me.”

I shook my head vigorously. “No, no, no, hell no. There’s no way I’m letting you pay.”

“But I suggested it, and we kinda just met so it’s only fair,” she protested.

“I don’t care. I would’ve asked you to go eat something with me but I thought there was somewhere you had to be right now, so I just kept my mouth shut,” I admitted.

“Well, let me at least pay for my own meal,” she crossed her arms.

“I’m not letting you,” I started the car, pulling onto the road seconds afterwards.

“Come on, Dora, it’s midnight and I really don’t want to argue with an explorer about who’s going to pay for food,” she said, and I let out a loud laugh before focusing back on the road.

“I told you my name’s Justin,” I said in amusement, “And even if my name was Dora, I still wouldn’t let you pay.”

She rolled her eyes. “You’re so stubborn.”

“As are you, my friend.”

“You’re already taking me there. The least you can do is let me pay for my own—”

“—You talk too much,” I chuckled. “Just let me pay, that’s it. It’s that simple.”

I heard her giggle softly before coming up with another badass comment. “As simple as Dora the Explorer can get.”

The entire rest of the ride consisted of both of us laughing and my sides hurt so much by the time we were walking inside the restaurant.

“Fun fact,” I blurted out, “my favorite fast food restaurant is McDonald’s.”

“Oh really?” her eyes lit up. “Mine too!”

“We must be soul mates,” I smirked, taking her hand in mine and leading her towards the counter. This time, I actually caught her blushing.

“Welcome to McDonald’s, can I take your order?” there was only one cashier at the moment and he probably thought we were lunatics for wanting Mickey D’s past midnight.

Adria and I ordered everything we wanted and when he told us what our finally cost was, I pulled out my wallet only to see Adria handing him a $20 bill before I could even say or do anything else. The cashier thanked us and we looked for a table to sit on while we waited for our order.

“What the hell was that back there?” I asked, sitting down on a seat across from her.

“What are you talking about?” she examined her nails casually.

“I told you I was going to pay… Why didn’t you let me?” I sighed. She paused and looked straight into my eyes. I waited for her to say something—anything—but her mouth remained close, her eyes firm on mine. After what felt like an eternity, she finally spoke.

“Because the guys always end up paying for the meal,” she said softly. “I wanted to break the rules a little bit tonight.”

I blinked, staring at her in awe.

“I think I love you,” I gushed out playfully, and she burst into giggles.

“I guess my dream of meeting a guy named Dora just advanced into meeting-a-guy-named-Dora-who-ends-up-falling-in-love-with-me,” she smirked.

“Oooh plot twist,” I dramatized.

Not long afterwards, our food was ready and we began eating like animals. It made me happy that I wasn’t the only one eating like a pig because, usually, girls don’t often let guys see them eating like this. They always have to eat like a ‘proper woman’.

“Where to next?” I asked, sipping from my soda. “Anywhere you wanna go. You know… at midnight.”

She laughed. “I think I should actually head on home now.”

I could feel my heart pout… If that was even possible.

“So soon?” I teased.

“It’s pretty late now,” she shrugged, finishing her chicken nuggets.

“I know, I was just kidding,” I chuckled. “When can I see you again?”

She instantly looked up at me, taken aback by my efforts to see her again. “I… Don’t know.”

“Can I at least have your number?” I asked softly.

“Sure, sure,” she nodded, a smile forming at the corner of her lips. She pulled out her phone and I pulled out mine. We exchanged devices, entered each other’s information into the other’s phone, and reclaimed our own devices.

“Sweet,” I said. “I’ll call you tomorrow, is that okay?”

“That’s fine,” she smiled. “I can’t wait to brag to everyone about how I met a guy named Dora.”

“Don’t forget to tell them that I’m also an explorer,” I smirked.

“Oh I won’t,” she laughed. “One does not simply leave that detail out.”

I stared into her eyes, admiring her beautiful features for one last time before she could disappear from me. I made sure to remember every perfect detail about her that night when I went to bed.

When I had fallen into a peaceful sleep, all I dreamt about was her.
