Chapter Seventeen
Long before Nazmeera woke up,Hamza was up and already busy in the kitchen.Nazmeera's sleep had been very disturbed and unknowingly she had reached for Hamza.
Hamza could not get the image of her head in his chest, her arm over his waist and a leg draped across both of his.Like a kola,a small, cut little kola.
"Ouch!" In his state of daydreaming, his hand unconsciously touched the side of the pot and Hamza finally snapped out of it.
He knew soon Nazmeera would be awake and once she was awake he would have to cajole her with food, the one thing she loved more then anyone.
Hamza should have felt guilty for playing on her weakness but this guilt was rather changed into a sense of pride that he knew one thing that held an importance in Nazmeera's life.
Nazmeera groaned as she woke up from an incredible night of peaceful sleep. Her eyes fluttered open and when she smelt coffee she instantly looked besides her.
Nazmeera thought that relief would flood her when she saw that Hamza was not besides her but rather she was flood with sadness. There was something intense about waking up with someone besides you.No matter how much Nazmeera tried to deny it but she could not deny the fact that the past three weeks without Hamza was pure hell even if he was not to be with her for two out of those three weeks.Nazmeera always felt this sense of safety whenever he was nearby even if it was because he was in the next room.
Ya Allah what was she thinking!Nazmeera face palmed herself,"Fool." Shaking her head she got out of bed and headed to the bathroom where one look in the mirror has her smiling. She did not look like the ogre she thought she would,Nazmeera thought, she actually looked decent.
After finishing the morning routine and showering,Nazmeera wrapped a towel around the body and exited the room only to stop in her steps.
There standing in front of her was Hamza who had opened his mouth to say something but shut it close immediately once he saw her.Nazmeera felt the heat of his gaze as it travelled all over her body and she almost gasped at the way his eyes darkened.
From the once light blue to a dark, stormy blue Nazmeera swallowed nervously and Hamza spoke while continuing to assess her,"Breakfast is ready, once you done we'll leave to go shopping."
Hamza rushed out of the room closing the door behind him and he took in several deep breaths as he walked towards the kitchen.Wow,Nazmeera was one beautiful woman, her curves and all.Hamza could feel molten, hot desire flood through him and he clenched his fist closed. He needed to really calm down before Nazmeera came and saw him undone as he was.
When Hamza had finally calm down and he turned to look at Nazmeera as she walked in he was once again hit by the molten desire, flooding through his veins.Nazmeera dressed in a white top that was tucked into a floral skirt with a greenish scarf and he somehow knew that she was wearing heels because she looked a bit taller then usually.MashaAllah she looked very beautiful and Hamza knew he would have a hard time keeping his eyes off her.
Nazmeera had cleared her throat more then five times already but Hamza was too busy daydreaming at her so she finally snapped her fingers in front of his face,"Hamza!"
Hamza snapped out of it and Nazmeera watched as a light blush colored his ears, neck and face. She almost giggled at the sheepish look he threw her.
"Sit,I'll bring your breakfast." Nazmeera nodded and watched Hamza walk around the kitchen. He looked handsome in a white Polo t-shirt,blue jeans that sat perfectly on his toned legs and black dress shoes. He looked like every girls fantasy Prince Charming who belonged to her.
And to Aamanah.
Her consciousness was quick to remind her and Nazmeera reeled in her floating emotions. Her thoughts had run beyond that which she was ready to comprehend. She wondered what he thought of her,did he think of her as she thought of him or...
Obviously not,his probably busy thinking of Aamanah in that way.His thoughts don't have time to wonder to you,a spare.
At times like this Nazmeera really wished she could slap her consciousness which had made a very powerful return in the last three weeks. This damned voice that constantly reminded her that she nothing, nothing but a spare.
It was Hamza's turn to snap Nazmeera our of whatever deep thoughts she was buried in and he did that by putting his face right in front of her's.
Nazmeera got a shock and pushed herself further into her chair before realizing that it was Hamza invading her space so she moved his face away.
"Really Hamza? What was that?" Hamza pulled a chair out for himself and sat next to her.
"You weren't responding.Eat."
Nazmeera looked down at the pancakes Hamza had stacked with chocolate sauce drizzled over and on another plate was sliced up fruit consisting of her favourite and thank Allah there were no bananas.Nazmeera did not really hate bananas but she did not love them either, she just preferred to leave them.
Mumbling jazakallah to Hamza and reading the dua before eating Nazmeera dug in.
"This great Hamza!" Hamza's smile got bigger at the compliment and he watched how Nazmeera ate all the food finished before taking the plate and putting it in the sink.He washed the plate and turned back to her.
"Ready to go?"
Nazmeera rolled her eyes,"Do I have a choice?"
Hamza smiled cheekily,"No.Let's go."
Nazmeera shook her head and they walked out together.Hamza drove them to the mall nearby and after finding a parking spot they entered the mall.
Hamza put a hand on Nazmeera's elbow and stirred her towards a boutique that he had already made an appointment at for Nazmeera.
Nazmeera gave Hamza a 'are you serious' look before speaking,"Hamza not here, this place is very expensive."
Hamza rolled his eyes at her, ignoring what she said and greeted the attendant who came towards them,"As salaam mu alaykum."
"Wa alaykum mu salaam. How are you'll doing today?"
"Alhumdulliah and you?"
"Alhumdulliah,do you have an appointment?"
"Yes,under the name Hamza."
A smile lightened the girls face,"Well then I'm going to be your consultant,I'm Kultum. Please come in."
"Hamza," Nazmeera whispered when he slid a hand around her waist and followed Kultum,"I don't want to buy clothes here."
"I don't care.So shush and let Kultum help you." Hamza whispered back and Nazmeera gritted her teeth in response.Ya Allah she was minutes away from murdering him.Aggh but Nazmeera knew arguing would get her no where so instead she just kept quite and waited for Kultum to come back as they took a seat.
Hamza looked at Nazmeera and smiled, she was stubborn but he was worst.Nazmeera kept on looking front despite feeling Hamza's eyes on her.
Hamza moved his head in such a way that he could look at her face but she turned her head so Hamza poked her side.
"Hey!" Nazmeera exclaimed, her back arching at that small touch that caused her to look at Hamza with big eyes.
"You weren't looking at me." He said casually, shrugging.
Nazmeera opened her mouth to reply but came up with nothing and by then Kultum came back with a wheeled railing full of clothes.
"Ma'am will you please step into the dressing room?"
When Kultum turned to her with a huge smile,Nazmeera's heart melted and she thought to herself, perhaps this wasn't such a bad idea in the end.
Nazmeera stepped into the dressing room and Kultum pulled out a light green dress, with a belt around the waist.Nazmeera loved the door and Kultum put it on the hook,"These are a few custom made dresses that we usually alter if it doesn't fit is not right. So I'll be leaving you to try them on and once you are done, you can call me."
Nazmeera nodded,"Jazakallah." Kultum mumbled ameen and then left the room, closing the curtain behind her.Nazmeera tried on the light green dress first and she fell in love with it.
"Nazmeera, you have to show me." Nazmeera heard Hamza's annoying voice and could not resist rolling her eyes before opening the curtain.
Hamza looked up at her and smiled,"It's beautiful but do you like it?" Nazmeera nodded,"I love it."
"Then we'll buy it.Go try on the others." This continued for the next twenty something dresses until Hamza's eye caught one dress while Nazmeera was changing and he called Kultum, telling her to give that dress to Nazmeera.
Kultum nodded and went to bring that dress before calling out to Nazmeera,"Ma'am may I come in?" Nazmeera replied affirmatively and Kultum entered.
"Ma'am your husband has asked that you try this on."
Kultum held out a red floor length, ballroom dress at which Nazmeera's mouth fell open.It was gorgeous and Nazmeera fell in love with it.Since it was sleeveless Nazmeera wouldn't probably have to wear a red under top but other then that it was absolutely beautiful.
"Sure."
Kultum left the room and Nazmeera put the dress on.She loved the fact that despite her being a bit chubby the dress was a perfect fit and she heard a throat clearing from outside the room.
"Nazmeera open the curtain and show me." Nazmeera's eyes went wide and without thought she squeaked out a bit too loud,"NO!"
Hamza frowned and rolled his eyes before opening the curtain. He froze and his mouth dropped open.
Nazmeera swallowed nervously at the way Hamza looked her up and down before getting the strength to face him.
Hamza was awed at how beautiful his wife looked and he walked towards her,at which Nazmeera turned around when he closed the curtain.
Nazmeera could feel Hamza's body heat from how close he stood next to her and her breath hiked when he trailed one finger from her neck down to her shoulder blade.Nazmeera felt his breath near her ear as he spoke,"Beautiful mashaAllah.I want you to choose this one to buy as well."
Nazmeera could only nod and then she felt her body flush, her skin growing red when Hamza dropped a kiss on her bare shoulder.
Nazmeera felt her body buzz with unknown excitement and she took deep breaths calming herself before taking off the gorgeous dress. She wore her clothes once again and exited the room only to see Kultum reenter the room, pulling the clothes rake out of the room.
Nazmeera looked for Hamza finding him at the counter to pay.She heard the woman assuring him that the clothes will reach his house by the next morning and the clothing that needed tailoring would also be there in the morning.
Nazmeera thanked Kultum and as they walked out Hamza held her hand in his, causing Nazmeera to look down at their intertwined fingers. She felt a sense of comfort from that small gesture.
They walked almost the entire mall.At times arguing as they were now when they stepped into a jewellery store.
"Hamza I don't need any jewellery. You just gave two pieces the other day and plus I got jewellery from my meher and from my family."
Hamza shook his head and pushed her into one of the chairs,"I don't care.I just want to buy you a few rings and other pieces that I think will suit you.Now don't argue."
"But I don't need more jewellery." Nazmeera looked up at him, stubbornly and in time to see him rolling his eyes.
"Fa sabrun jameel." She heard him mutter before leaning down,"And I said I don't care."
"That should be your catchphrase,well I don't care,so let's go."
Nazmeera tried standing up but Hamza clamped his hands on her shoulder keeping her sitting,"Shush. We doing this anyway."
Nazmeera glared up at him,"No."
Hamza rolled his eyes,"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
Nazmeera realized her mistake and looked up at Hamza, returning his smug look,"You said no so let's go."
Hamza shook his head,"But you had the last word and said yes so you have to buy whatever I tell you to buy."
Nazmeera shook her head,"I refuse."
"I refuse to accept that you refuse."
"Don't use...."
Nazmeera was cut off by a throat being cleared and the two of them looked at a worker looking at them amusingly,"If the two of you are done can I show you'll some beautiful pieces that I think would suit such a beautiful couple."
Nazmeera looked down blushing and Hamza chuckled,"Oh sorry, yes please do show us such pieces preferably something with pearls."
The worker's smile widened,"We just got this new batch in recently and I think you will absolutely love it."
The worker left and Hamza took a seat next to Nazmeera who turned to glare at him,"Good job at embarrassing me."
Hamza gave her an offensive look,"You mean to say this is my fault?"
Nazmeera nodded her head,"Obviously, who else fault can it be?"
"It can be your fault since you didn't want to buy anything." Hamza said pointing at her.
Nazmeera smacked his hand,"Ever heard the saying 'the wife is always right',you should follow it."
Hamza snorted and gave her a sarcastic smile,"Hell no!Now shish and look at the pieces the worker is bringing."
Nazmeera squished the urge to stick her tongue out at Hamza and turned to the worker who put a few jewellery boxes in front of her.
Hamza watched Nazmeera look over them and caught her eyes linger on a pair of pearl earrings after which he looked at the worker.
"We'll take those earrings as well as a matching necklace and bracelet."
Nazmeera turned her head to look at him,"Why..."
"I saw your eyes linger on them."
Nazmeera smiled at him,"They so similar to the ones princess Diana had and the one's princess Kate wears now.Thank you," Through her tone Hamza caught the hint of a 'but' so he pushed.
"But?"
"That's the only pieces I want." Hamza was ready to argue but Nazmeera put a hand on his forearm,"Please I don't need more.Please."
Hamza took a look at the innocence clouding her face and his heart melted,"Okay fine then."
This time after walking out if the shop and asking for the jewellery pieces to be delivered to their house,Nazmeera was the one to reach for Hamza's hand and he smiled.
Perhaps this shopping trip was not such a bad idea after all, perhaps this would do them some or maybe a whole lot of good.

Translations:
Meher:The money that a groom gives to his bride when they are getting married. The meher may also include jewellery. In South Africa we are usually given a gold coin/s.
Majority Muslim's give Meher e Fatima which us the minimum, the least amount of meher but there is a stipulated amount by the ulama for it which is usually announced on one of the Islamic channels.Meher is also stipulated according to what the man can give his wife, what he is able to afford and it may be higher then the stipulated amount.
The meher solely and only belongs to the bride,it is not dowry!Dowry is usually given to the families but Meher is only for the bride,it belongs to her.
If a man does not have the stipulated meher as said by the woman's guardian then he may marry her and give the meher when he can afford it at anytime during their marriage but he has to give it as it is his wife's right.
That's it I guess any other translations inline comment please.I'm tired now so I guess I'll sleep.
Have a great, safe week.Remember Palestine,Syria and all the other countries in the world that are experiencing difficulties at the moment, not only Muslim but non-Muslim as well.Take care.
Fi Amanilah.
