So I played softball yesterday! It was a good game! The top of the first inning ended pretty quickly, and we were batting, sooo that was not good. But they didn't get any runs either when we were in the field! I was first base and it was fun.

But I was a poptart at second base and crashed into the runner when I was trying to be cutoff. Then they didn't need a cutoff but I wasn't paying attention and tried to catch the ball anyway. 😑

And I think I hit my first hit to the outfield! For some reason, I have never been able to hit to the outfield. *shrugs* For four years I haven't hit anything to the outfield. And stealing bases was fun!

I hadn't warmed up at all before pitching though, so I was not doing good. My coach pulled me out to warm up, and had someone else (who is way better at pitching than me, might I add) pitch instead.

Normally, warming up is easy. But the ball kept slipping out of my hands because it was raining and it kept going on the ground and to the left of the target. I was frustrated. You know how you smile when you're frustrated? That's what I was doing.

In the next inning (which was the last inning), I pitched. At first the ball kept going above and to the right because it had stopped raining and the ball had been dried off. But it was consistently going in the same place, so I thought if only I could make these strikes, they would all be strikes.

I thought to myself, Slow pitch. And that turned them into strikes. All the outs of that inning were because I struck the batters out. But, there were some batters who were easy to strike out because they either swung at everything, but unsurely, or took too long to realize it was a strike and swung too late. If they had been batters who consistently hit them to the outfield, I would not have struck them out.

After the game, my sister remarked that my waterbottle was sandy. So I said, "My waterbottle is Annie's dog?" Get it? Sandy?

Oh yeah, one more thing about the game. jadyn6 got the game ball for getting a double! ☺

And then I went home and in the car, listened to Castle on the Hill. I like that song.
