Chapter 1

Sommer's POV:
"Sorry about your lost,"A familiar voice says. I turn around to see Rebekah. I sigh. "Don't be sorry, it's better this way,"I say rolling my eyes. "Sommer I know she wasn't the best mother but she was still your mother,"Rebekah states. "Oh I loved her dearly except when she tried to kill me so many times because she said I TALK TO MUCH, THAT I'M ANNOYING, I'M A MONSTER WHO DOESN'T DESERVE TO LIVE!!!"I snap at her. "Ya, I understand but she's still your mother and she was just going a little crazy with all the stress,"Rebekah says rubbing my back. I move away from her. "Is that what you say about Mikael?"I ask a little annoyed. She sighs. "I'm sorry Aunt Bekah, it's just been a while since I've seen you and now you were trying to tell me how I feel about my mother and I'm stubborn so I kinda freaked out,"I sigh running my fingers through my hair. "It's ok, it runs in the family. I would be surprised if you weren't stubborn,"Rebekah giggles causing me to chuckle. She hugs me and rubs my back. "If you need anything, I'll be around, just call,"She says as I hug her back. "Thank you aunt Rebekah,"I say pulling away. "You still look beautiful even after 824 years,"She smiles at me. "You think I'm beautiful? Have you looked in a mirror lately?"I ask causing her to laugh. "Thank you,"She says striking a pose. I laugh. "You know I think you should tell Kol, I mean it's been a long time and he doesn't even know you were even born,"She says hopefully. "And I don't think I should... I'm not ready yet,"I say sitting back on my couch. "But it's been 824 years,"She says exasperated. "I don't think I'll ever be ready Aunt Rebekah,"I whisper. "Sommer, you know he deserves to know,"She says sadly. "I know,"I sigh. "Then it's settled, you're coming with me,"She says grabbing my hand and going out to a car. There was a man in the car who I suspected was Uncle Elijah. I get into the back and Elijah looks over at Rebekah confused as she gets in. "Elijah, this is you..."She starts to say but I cut her off. "I'm Sommer, your niece, Kol's daughter,"I say shaking his hand. "Impossible,"He says looking at me shocked. "It is, especially since I'm 824 years old,"I say sitting back in the seat. "You look familiar,"He says, searching my eyes. "A lot of people say I look like my mom, Julie,"I smile at him. "Julie?"He asks his eyes widening. I nod. "Makes sense now... How come Kol hasn't mentioned you?"He asks. "Because he doesn't know,"Rebekah says before I can. He nods. "So you're going to tell him?"He asks. "I don't want to... He seems so happy right now, I don't want to ruin that,"I sigh. "You may not ruin it, you may just make his life a little bit better knowing that he still has a piece of Julie left,"Rebekah tells me. "What do you mean?"Elijah asks. "My mom died,"I sigh. "Oh, my condolences,"Elijah says giving me an empathetic look. I sigh and look out the window. "Let's just go before I change my mind,"I say and Elijah nods and we drive away leaving my home far behind.
