The next morning, the sun rose in Gotham City. Kevin yawned and woke up. Once he rose up and opened his eyes, he saw that Alfred was setting aside new clothes. "Good morning Master Kevin," said Alfred, "your father talked to Mr Dibny into giving him fabric similar to the clothing he wears as The Elongated Man so that it will be convenient to wear clothes that will fit you albeit temporarily until we find a cure for your condition. Mr. Dibny of course owed your father a favor, so this was his way of helping." Kevin stood up and picked up one of the pieces of clothing. He stretched it, and not once did it break or snap or rip. "Very impressive Alfred." Kevin said, "if I ever see Ralph, I'll be sure to personally thank him myself. Is it just me, or are a lot of heroes owing dad and Dick favors these days?"

"It would appear so," chuckled Alfred. "Well, I'm going to go take a shower," said Kevin, "I may look like a beast right now, but I sure don't want to smell like one." Alfred smirked and said, "now there's a sentiment we can both agree on. There's a hair dryer to make it convenient for you to dry your fur when you're finished." Kevin then grabbed a pair of XXXL underwear, went into the bathroom, and took off the tattered remains of his clothes. Kevin then proceeded to take a shower to the best of his ability. He was unsure whether to use shampoo or body wash or both when washing himself. He decided to use both. It would take a little bit of getting used to. But by the time Kevin was finished with his shower, he smelled like daisies. Kevin then dried himself off with the hair dryer, and was all nice and clean. Kevin then put on the underwear, and then he put on a pair of blue shorts and a black tank top. Kevin then walked on over to the kitchen and made himself breakfast. He sat at the table next to Bruce, Dick, Tim, and Tyler. As he ate his breakfast, Kevin asked, "hey Dad... I forgot to ask this, but where's Barbara? Why didn't she join the others in rescuing me? Is she alright?"

Bruce knew that eventually he or the others would have to tell Kevin what happened to Barbara. Dick looked at Bruce and quietly asked, "which one of us should tell Kevin?" Bruce sighed and quietly replied, "I'll do it... part of this is my fault..." Bruce then cleared his throat and said aloud, "Kevin there are a lot of things you missed while you were gone. After you've finished your breakfast, I want you to come with me to the Batcave. There's something I want to show you."  Once breakfast was finished, Bruce guided Kevin to the Batcave. Bruce then sat on the computer and started typing something. He sighed, "After you went to Moreau Cosmetics, I learned that The Joker was out of Arkham Asylum. He had managed to escape weeks ago. Joker then attacked the Gordon family, including your girlfriend Barbara. He shot her in the hip and crippled her. After his cronies kidnapped her father, The Joker stripped Barbara naked and took photos of her bleeding naked body in an attempt to drive Jim mad." He logged into the file, and Kevin saw before his eyes one of the photos Joker took of Barbara. It looked like she was screaming in terror. Kevin could almost hear Barbara tearfully begging Joker to stop. Tears welled in his eyes. "What happened afterwards? Is she alive?" Kevin asked, hyperventilating. "Barbara is currently at the hospital," explained Bruce, "she's alive but, she's in a coma. She'll eventually wake up. But after that, Barbara will never walk again. I'm so sorry Kevin. I created this monster, and now Jason and Barbara had to suffer for it..." Kevin's heart broke in two when he knew of Barbara's fate. It made him want to cry. But now that sadness turned into rage. He clenched his fists, growled, and punched the wall, disturbing some of the bats inside the cave. "IF I SEE THAT SON OF A BITCH I'M GONNA RIP HIS HEAD OFF AND SHOVE IT UP HIS ASS!!!!" roared Kevin, his anger getting the better of him. "Kevin, please... Calm down..." Bruce said, trying to make sure his son didn't go berserk. "Don't tell me to calm down!" Kevin growled, "he shot and crippled my girlfriend! He violated her by taking those pictures or worse, he probably raped her! I will not let him get away with this, damn it! If I see him, I will murder him in more ways than one!" Bruce calmly placed his hands on Kevin's shoulders and asked, "do you think Barbara and your mother would want you to do that? Revenge won't solve anything. I understand you're angry. You don't know how tempting it is, wanting to snap Joker's neck after everything he's done. But if you cross that line, Barbara would be horrified that you would kill for her. That's not who you are Kevin. You're not a monster, son. Please... I don't want to lose you like this..." Kevin calmed down and hugged his father tightly. He knew his father was right of course. And so Kevin swore he wouldn't take revenge, for his father, his mother, Dick, Tim, Tyler, and of course for Barbara.
