A/N: there was a five-year gap that took place between seasons one and two of Young Justice. This chapter takes place two and a half years after the first season and before the events to season two. Remember that now.

It was another typical afternoon in Gotham City. Bruce Wayne was sitting in his office at Wayne Enterprises. As Bruce looked at his watch, the phone rang. Bruce picked up the phone and answered in his billionaire playboy voice, "Wayne Enterprises, this is Bruce Wayne speaking." On the phone was Bruce's right hand man, Lucius Fox. Lucius said, "Mister Wayne, it's Lucius."

"Ah, good afternoon Lucius," said Bruce, "is there a problem or anything?" Lucius responded on the phone, "quite the opposite, Mr Wayne. We found out the name of the young student that has won a scholarship to Gotham University that will be financed by Wayne Enterprises." Bruce remembered that. He made a promise that one student from one high school in all the 50 States of America could win a scholarship to Gotham University and the tuition would be personally financed by Bruce himself. "Who's our lucky winner?" Bruce casually asked. "It's a young man named Kevin Beaumont," explained Lucius, "he attends Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Washington." The young boy's name caught Bruce's attention. Specifically his surname. It made him think of his first girlfriend, Andrea Beaumont. He hadn't heard her name in nearly 20 years. "Thank you for bringing this to my attention Lucius," said Bruce, "I'll make arrangements to travel to Bellevue, Washington and meet with Mr Beaumont personally so that I can inform him of this opportunity he has been given." Lucius then said on the phone, "very well then, Mr. Wayne. I'll leave you be." Lucious then hung up, leaving Bruce to think about Andrea once again. They were memories he tried to lock away years ago. "Could this young man be related to Andrea?" Bruce thought, "then again, Beaumont is often a very common name. I could ask Barbara or Dick to look up Kevin's birth certificate to see if he is related to Andrea and I. No, Barbara and Dick are at school... I could ask Tyler though..." Bruce then picked up the phone and called Tyler "Mystery" Jones, AKA Weapon. Less than a minute later, the voice of a teenaged girl with a British accent said on the phone, "Jones speaking."

"Tyler, it's Bruce," he said in his natural gruff voice. "Hey Bruce," said Tyler, "what do I owe the pleasure of hearing your voice?" Bruce replied, "I need your computer hacking skills that Barbara taught you to ascertain a birth certificate online." Tyler sarcastically said on the phone, "Bruce, I was a computer expert long before I met you, Dick, and Barbara. I'm offended to think you think so lowly of me. But I'm more than willing to help you. Who do you want me to look for?"

"A young man named Kevin Beaumont," stated Bruce, "lives in Bellevue, Washington. He won a scholarship to Gotham University and I want to see who his parents are before I personally meet him."

"Ah, so that's why you want me to look for Kevin's birth certificate," said Tyler, "I thought you were the world's greatest detective. No matter, I'll get on the Batcomputer and start hacking. I'll inform you on what I've found later." Bruce nodded and said, "thank you Tyler. I appreciate this." Tyler replied, "you're welcome. Gotta go. I'll see you and Dick later." That's when Tyler hung up. Of course, Bruce knew that Tyler had a crush on his ward/adopted son Dick Grayson, AKA Nightwing. 15 minutes later, Tyler called back. Bruce picked up and asked, "what did you find, Tyler?" The ginger haired girl said on the phone, "I found Kevin's birth certificate. He's a young male, Caucasian, light brown hair, dark blue eyes. He was born on July 28th, and is the same age as Barbara. He is currently 16 going on 17. Kinda looks like you but then again, you adopt anyone with black hair and blue eyes. I also found out who his parents are. His mother's name is Andrea Beaumont... And Bruce... Wow, this is a shocker. Your name is on the birth certificate, former playboy billionaire. I think Kevin might be your son." Now Bruce was shocked! He wasn't 100% sure if Andrea was alive or not. He'd given up years ago. He thought to himself, "did Andrea and I unintentionally conceive a child born out of wedlock? I have an actual son?" Bruce then said aloud on the phone, "and what of Andrea?" Tyler responded on the phone, "well she's not dead if that's what you're wondering. According to a census I looked upon, Andrea lives in Bellevue, Washington and is a manager at Half Price Bookstore. Is there any other information you'd like to know, Bruce? I could stalk her for more info." Bruce responded, "no... thank you for your help Tyler. That will be all. Alfred and I will be leaving work soon." Tyler then hung up without even saying goodbye. "Guess that serves me right for hanging up on her multiple times..." Bruce muttered to himself. Bruce then left Wayne Enterprises and went back home to pack up. Once he was back, he waited for Dick and Barbara to come in. Jason had already died. Once Dick, Tyler, and Barbara were inside the Batcave, Bruce gave explicit instructions. "I will be leaving Gotham for a few days," announced Bruce, "I am headed to Bellevue, Washington to meet a young man named Kevin Beaumont. So it will take me awhile to get to and from Bellevue and Gotham. And because of that, I will be unable to protect Gotham as Batman. That's why I want all three of you to keep an eye on the house and to protect the city while I'm gone. I trust the three of you to accomplish this." Dick nodded and said, "don't worry Bruce, we'll keep Gotham safe. You can trust us." Bruce nodded and said, "good. I'll see you all in a few days." Bruce and Alfred then left Wayne Manor, driving all the way to Bellevue.
