Saturday evening soon came, and Barbara came over to Wayne Manor. Since she was considered family, she was always welcome there. She was wearing a yellow t-shirt, purple shorts, striped socks, and yellow hightops. Barbara wandered over to the living room and walked into the theater room, assuming Kevin was there. She went to the couch and saw that Kevin was there indeed. He was wearing a Seattle Seahawks t-shirt, blue shorts, and black socks. He had a bowl of popcorn and two sodas. "Hey Kevin," said Barbara as she took a seat next to him. "Hey Babs," replied Kevin as he smiled at her, "you ready to watch Hot Fuzz?"

"Sure am," said Barbara as she smiled back at him. Kevin held the remote and pressed play. The movie started. As Kevin and Barbara watched the film, Kevin wrapped his arm around Barbara, a gesture she welcomed as she snuggled up to him. They ate popcorn and drank their sodas, laughing at the many hilarious jokes of the film. Kevin and Barbara found Hot Fuzz to be hilarious, entertaining, and quite original for an action comedy that spoofed the buddy cop/odd couple trope. Then again, who doesn't love an odd couple story? That dynamic is always entertaining. Anyway, as the movie continued, Kevin and Barbara got closer and bonded more. Once the movie ended, Barbara said, "I gotta say Kevin, that was a pretty good movie."

"I definitely agree," said Kevin, "I can see why Tyler wanted me to watch it. It's hilarious and a worthy follow-up to Shaun of the Dead." Barbara nodded and said, "yep. So, you want to watch another movie?" Kevin shrugged and said, "sure. But before we do that, there's something I want to tell you Barbara..." At first, Barbara thought she did something wrong and she nervously asked, "what is it, Kevin?" Kevin held Barbara's hand and said, "well the thing is, I've had a crush on you for a long time Barbara... I think you're smart, brave, brilliant, and beautiful, and I really wanted to tell you about my feelings because I really like you." Barbara was at first shocked. Then her shock turned to joy when Kevin told her he had a crush on her. It made her heart soar. "Oh Kevin..." Barbara said sweetly, "I'm glad to know you feel the same way about me the way I do..."

"Wait, you like me too?" Kevin asked, getting excited. "More than that, Kevin. I love you," replied Barbara as she looked into his dark blue eyes. Kevin smiled and said, "I know we got a lot going on, with me in college and you as Batgirl co-leading The Team with Kaldur... but do you want to try this out? Me and you, in a relationship?" Barbara smiled and said, "lucky for you, my dad likes you. I would be more than happy to have you as my boyfriend, Kevin Beaumont." Kevin, gaining the courage, then gently embraced Barbara and kissed her on the lips. Barbara smiled through the kiss, melting into it. Unfortunately, there came the part where they had to separate just to breathe and stop kissing. But Kevin compensated for that and said, "I love you Barbara Gordon." Babs smirked and said, "I know."
