A/N: This chapter basically takes place after season 3.

A lot can happen in over a year. To compensate for her physical disabilites, Barbara used her computer hacking skills to become a technical field advisor for The Team, calling herself Oracle. Kevin also got a job as an apprentice to a sous chef in one of the best restaurants in Gotham. Kevin also spoke out against Splicing and Metahuman trafficking, which had risen to galactic levels. Batman and several other Justice League members resigned so that they could go back to being vigilantes and stop the metahuman trafficking without the interference of someone like Lex Luthor. Dick even recruited new metahumans known as Brion Markov and his sister Terra, Violet Harper, and an alien known as Forager. And so a brand new team was formed, known as The Outsiders. That entire year was so interesting, that if a story were to be told about it, one would have to make a season's worth of 26 television episodes to do the story justice.

Kevin decided to move in with Barbara to make life easier for her, which she didn't mind. Despite the fact that she could no longer be Batgirl, Barbara was happy with her life. She felt helpful to The Team, and she had a loving boyfriend who was loyal to her. Life was good. It was a Saturday night, and Kevin was making pasta with red marinara sauce and ground beef. He fed Wilbur a bowl of tuna and also a bowl of milk. He served Barbara the pasta, and they ate together. As they ate, Barbara said, "this is really good Kevin. You never cease to amaze me." Kevin smiled and said, "thanks babe. Glad you like it. So, when we're done with dinner, what do you want to do?"

"Maybe we could watch a movie together," said Barbara, "we could even have some fun." She playfully winked at Kevin, causing him to blush. "I guess it would be nice to have fun with my favorite redhead," said a bashful Kevin. Barbara giggled and said, "you are so cute when you're bashful." Kevin ate some of his pasta and then said, "you know Babs, if you want, we could go on a double date with Zatanna and Allan. I think that would be a lot of fun." Barbara smiled and said, "that does sound like a good idea. I'll talk to Zee and we'll try and arrange a double date together." When their dinner was finished, a green light then flew in. "What the heck is that?" Kevin asked in shock. The figure then revealed himself to be an alien with blue skin and white hair, wearing a red and white robe. "Greetings Kevin Beaumont and Barbara Gordon," he said, "my name is Ganthet. I am one of the Guardians of the Universe, part of the Green Lantern Corps." Barbara looked in amazement and said, "oh, so you know Hal Jordan, John Stewart, and Guy Gardner?"

"I do indeed," confirmed Ganthet, "I have left the Green Lantern Corps to form a new Corp that focuses on spreading hope throughout the galaxy. I have something for both of you, Kevin and Barbara." Ganthet got out a green power ring and said, "Barbara Gordon, you possess great willpower and can overcome great fear. I deem you worthy of joining the Green Lantern Corps. If you wear this ring, you will regain your ability to walk, aside from the other benefits of being a Green Lantern." Barbara was amazed by what Ganthet had to say. Ganthet then let out a blue power ring and said, "as for you, Kevin Beaumont. You possess great hope. Despite everything you have endured, you have never lost hope. I believe you are worthy enough in joining me as a Blue Lantern to spread hope to this galaxy. What do the both of you say?" Kevin looked at Barbara and said, "Babs... you could get your legs back..." Barbara thought about and said, "it does sound great... I'd give anything to walk again, and maybe I could be a great Green Lantern... But I'll only do it if you're with me." Kevin kissed Barbara and said, "always. We're in this together." Barbara faced Ganthet and said, "alright, we're both in." Ganthet nodded and said, "very well then." Kevin put on the blue power ring and became a Blue Lantern. As for Barbara, she put on the green power ring, and became a Green Lantern! She stood up for the first time in over a year. "How does it feel to finally walk again?" Kevin asked. Barbara smiled and said, "it feels great!" And so Kevin and Barbara were ready to spread hope and protect the universe!
