I'd like to say my life got better after that but in reality it was just beginning I was starting year 7 of secondary school, this time it was a mainstream school with both deaf and hearing pupils. There was only a small group of deaf pupils at my old school but in this school there was around 14 of us.
You'd think with that many of us that would be easier to make friends well it wasn't.
I tried to make friends with a few deaf people in my class unfortunately they didn't like me. Years passed and I tried in vain to make them like me and tried to fit in. I wanted a deaf friend mainly because they understood what it was like and the struggles we go through. But we fought a lot and we both constantly got each other in trouble. I eventually managed to get one of the teachers to believe me and one of the bullies was kicked out of the school.
