Aromantic is a romantic orientation—just like panromantic, or homoromantic.

1. Little or no desire to have a romantic relationship

2. A person typically uninterested in having a romantic partner

A person doesn't have to be Aromantic and Asexual together

They could be Asexual and Heteromantic, meaning they don't want to do it with their partner, but they still want to be in a relationship with one person, from the opposite gender.

They don't have to be Asexual to be Aromantic, either. They could be Pansexual and Aromantic. Not willing to be in a full-on relationship, but willing to "do it" with someone—in this case, someone of any gender or identity.

That doesn't mean an Aromantic person is incapable of love. They could love their family, pets, and friends. Typically, they don't want things to go further than platonic, though.
