Chapter 38

“Oh Yeonjun! Buy me ice cream, the strawberry one!”

Yeonjun let out a small smile. “When will you stop eating ice cream?” Yeonjun teases him.

“If I’m already dead, maybe,” Soobin replied and laughs.

“But I’m going to get jealous if I’ll buy you one,” Yeonjun acted mad.

Soobin panicked a bit, “W-why? Then don’t buy me one. It’s fine—“

Soobin stops when Yeonjun claim his lips while they are walking on the pavement that some of the students near Soobin’s old school are walking but gladly no one sees them.

“I’m going to get jealous because you’ll lick it like how you lick my dick—“

“Hey! W-why are you thinking such things,” Soobin yelled and looked away, so Yeonjun won’t notice his cheeks getting red.

Yeonjun laughs at the cuteness of the younger. “Let’s go, I’ll buy you one,” Yeonjun said and hold the younger’s waist as they walk.

“You’re making my heart flutter so much, Yeonjun,” Soobin whispered under his breath but enough for Yeonjun to hear.

After Yeonjun heard it, he lets go of Soobin’s waist and made a small space between them. Soobin didn’t react on why Yeonjun did that but he knows that Yeonjun doesn’t want him to feel uncomfortable about it.

“Why do you like me so much?” Yeonjun asks out of sudden.

“It doesn’t have any concrete reasons, Yeonjun. I just feel it,” Soobin answered casually and determined.

“And that’s why I hate it,” Yeonjun added. “That’s why people are getting confused because they don’t have any concrete and specific reason about it. They don’t know if it’s normal to feel it or it’s the other way around already,” Yeonjun ranted. “It’s so weird and hard to understand.”

Soobin nods and smiles when he hears it. It feels like Yeonjun just confirmed something. “I see,” he reacted. “Then I can tell you some ways to figure it out,” Soobin suggested.

“No, I’m good. I’m sure that I’m fine,” Yeonjun rejected Soobin’s suggestion while shaking his head.

“Okay then,” Soobin agrees and they just continue walking towards the ice cream stall.

Yeonjun bought him one and they stay outside, take a seat and watch some of the kids at the park and dogs having some walk with their owners.

“What if I started changing for worst, Soobin are you still going to like me?”

“Yeonjun, I’ve seen the worst you can be. All that’s left is to see the good side of you,” Soobin just replied. “And I can’t wait to see it,” he added and smiles.

“What a nuisance,” Yeonjun sighs and looks away. Soobin just giggled. “Here,” Yeonjun take out something from his pocket and lend to Soobin.

“Oh? I already throw this, right? Why do you still have this?” Soobin asks and accepts the bracelet he did, he’s actually happy.

“I don’t even know why I keep it,” Yeonjun just replied.

Soobin smiles at him. “I thought I’m not going to see this again,” Soobin commented. “But Beomgyu’s going to get mad at me if he see me wearing this again,” he stated.

“For real, what’s with you and Beomgyu?” Yeonjun curiously asks.

“Nothing, he’s a friend— a really concerned and caring one,” Soobin answered while smiling.

Yeonjun nods, “Why don’t you like him instead of me?” he suddenly asks.

“Does he have your soul?”

“What?”

Soobin looks intently to the red bracelet that he personally made. “Beomgy’s kind and really a boyfriend material, I appreciate everything he’s doing to me but he’s not you, Yeonjun,” he directed his eyes on the older. “I don’t really understand the concept of liking someone but I know that I like you— your soul, I like you.”

Yeonjun felt chills, he can’t just get used on Soobin saying how much he likes him. It’s making him confuse and crazy as well. How can he stop himself from accompanying Soobin when Soobin’s openly saying he likes him so much?

Yeonjun’s index finger taps Soobin’s nose. “You’re so loud,” he just replied. He doesn't want to hear more of it. “Anyways, I’m going back to Seoul today. How about you?”

“Can I join you?” Soobin exclaimed, eyes are hopeful.

“Y-yeah sure,” Yeonjun mindlessly agrees right away.

“Ah right, please, don’t tell Beomgyu about this… He’ll really get mad,” Soobin requested, fidgeting his fingers.

“Why does he need to know?” Yeonjun wondered. “And why are you worried about it?”

“Beomgyu’s not saying anything but I know I stressed him out the past month too,” Soobin stated. “I don’t want him to get stressed about me again.”

“Then it’s not your fault anymore. He needs to keep his nose on his own, not on you,” Yeonjun shots back. “Don’t give a fuck about him, Pup.”

“S-should I?”

Yeonjun moves to look at him. “Depends on you, you already know what to do,” he answered and stands up. “You should prepare now, let’s go home.”

Soobin messaged his mom that he’s going to go back early and didn’t mention about Yeonjun. His mom knows about what happened, though she’s  not really mad about Yeonjun, she doesn’t want Soobin to get hurt again that’s why she doesn’t want him to be with Yeonjun anymore.

“Someone’s going to fetch us up?” Soobin asks while walking towards the main road.

“Yeah, give me your bag,” Yeonjun answered and take Soobin’s bagpack and he carried it.

“T-thank you,” he’s fluttered again with such gestures.

“Stop blushing, will you? I’m trying my best to be good in here,” Yeonjun stated, not giving Soobin a look.

“And that’s why I’m blushing! You’re acting kind, I’m not used to it,” Soobin protested and pout.

“Are you really into bad guys, Choi Soobin? Your tastes are so weird,” Yeonjun commented.

Soobin turns around and walks backwards so he can see Yeonjun. “Nope! My tastes are really great and that’s why I like you—“

“Hey! Be careful!” Yeonjun jolted when Soobin almost tripped so he held his waist and pulled towards him. “You okay?”

“Y-yeah, I am,” Soobin stuttered and stood properly.

Yeonjun sighs, “Look where you are going, Pup,” he said.

“Yes sir!”

“S-sir?”

“Ops! Are you fluttered by it!?”

“No?”

“Yes you are, sir!” Soobin laughs at Yeonjun and continued teasing it.

“I’m not,” Yeonjun just denied and held Soobin’s hand, intertwine it and put inside his jacket’s pocket. “You’re being so move-y again,” he said.

“Yeonjun, what if you’ll like me for real?” Soobin wondered.

“I don’t know, I may or not,” Yeonjun answered.

“What if you’ll love me more than I’ll love you?”

“I don’t know, Pup.”

Soobin stop from walking and face Yeonjun. He tightens his hold in Yeonjun’s hand that’s inside the pocket. He looked at Yeonjun so intently under the lamppost that’s giving them light.

“Yeonjun, I love you. You’re not obligated to love me back but you can always try to have the same feeling. Use the love I’m giving to you as a foundation to love me back. That’s how it always starts. That’s why, if you can… please, love me back, Yeonjun.”

Yeonjun saw how Soobin’s eyes are so pretty. It holds a million stars and feelings— lovely feelings towards him and him alone. The only eyes that are willing to wait for good changes. The only eyes that are in love with him. The only eyes that took a risk for him. Soobin’s eyes that are screaming how crazy in love he is to Yeonjun.

“Sure, I’ll try my best to feel the same thing, Soobin. And if I’ll really love you more than you love me, then just let it be. I will try everything to be worthy of your stupidly love and protect you over anything.”
