Chapter 34

"Choi Soobin's still not attending class? Choi Beomgyu, look for Soobin and tell him to come. It's been a week now."

"Yes, Mr. Kim," Beomgyu replied.

Actually, Beomgyu knows why Soobin's not attending the class. He keeps on coming back to their house but Soobin won't just open the doors. He's not going out in there no matter what and Mrs. Choi told Beomgyu to just leave him alone for now because she knows exactly why his son is being like that.

Beomgyu sighs and went to the student council's office. "Bae, do you know where can I find the academy where Soobin's going?"

"I'll send you the address," Taehyun replied and open his phone.

"Thanks," Beomgyu muttered. "I'm going crazy trying to figure out things!"

"You didn't ask Yeonjun?"

"Why would? It's been a month now and they aren't even giving a damn with each other," Beomgyu replied.

Taehyun shuts his mouth after that. That's when he realize that Beomgyu doesn't know about what the two has been doing the past month that he thought there's nothing going on.

"Do you know something?" Beomgyu noticed his sudden silence.

"Just go find it by yourself," Taehyun replies then look away.

Beomgyu waited for a taxi and went to where academy Soobin is attending and he started looking for his name on the list. Then someone asks him, "Who are you looking? I'm from that class too," it's a girl.

"Oh, do you have a classmate named Choi Soobin?" Beomgyu asked.

"A pink helmet?" she laughs but Beomgyu's frowning. "Sorry, Soobin's always bringing a pink helmet with him," she said.

"Helmet? He's not riding any vehicle tho?"

"Yes he doesn't but Choi Yeonjun does. They alwa-"

"Who?" now Beomgyu's even frowning more.

"Choi Yeonjun, they are from the same school, right? They study together and Yeonjun's always taking home Soobin after class. They are so close that we thought they are boyfriends or something but Soobin said they aren't though I saw them kissed once," the girl tells.

Beomgyu sneers after hearing it and started cursing at the back of his head. "Thank you, Ms.," he said before going out and he saw their car in front of him. "These bastards won't just leave me alone for once," he muttered.

"I still have somewhere to go, drop me in Soobin's place," he ordered to the driver.

"But young master you have class-"

"Just fucking drive, will you!?" he snapped and throws his head off and closed his eyes as he leans.

He doesn't know what to feel exactly. He wants to be mad. He wants to feel betrayed and disappointed but at the same time he wants to understand the situation. If Yeonjun really have something to do with this, Beomgyu won't just stay still.

"Beomgyu, why are you here again son?" Mrs. Choi welcomed Beomgyu.

Beomgyu smiled, "I'll try talking to him again, ma'am," Beommgyu replied.

"B-but..."

"I'll just try," Beomgyu insisted.

"Beomgyu...." Mrs. Choi called. "When Soobin came home on Sunday night, he's full of bruises," she pauses to breathe as she remember how her heart crushed when she saw her son in such situation. "He can barely stand, he fall off the floor the moment I open the doors for him and... And I never had the answer for it since then... I don't know what to think Beomgyu," she stated in teary eyes.

Beomgyu clenched his fist and walks in front of Soobin's door. Soobin who doesn't lock doors is been locked up in his room for days now. He only gets out if he wants and then silently comes back inside his room again.

"Soobin, I'm here again. Should we talk things out?" Beomgyu started talking in front of the door. "You know, I'm a good listener," he added but there's no respond.

"Are you listening? You know, the teacher's been looking for you. They can't just go with the classes without your ideas and participations. I think they really missed you," he continued.

"Also, ice creams are now available in the cafeteria! There's so much flavours, I really wanted to have one but wanna do it with you tho?" he paused from trying to sound lively because there's still no response.

"Soobin, I miss you," Beomgyu whispered and hold back his tears. Half blaming himself for didn't taking care of Soobin and for letting him be with Yeonjun when he's supposed to be protecting him.

"I-I... I found out that Yeonjun's been attending the academy with you- but don't worry, I'm not mad. I know you like him so it's f-fine but... but is he the reason why are you being like this? Soobin may I know? P-please, Binnie?"

Soobin who's hugging his knees, sitting on the floor, leaning his back against the door, started crying because of what he heard. He tried his best not to make any sound even if his chest is getting tighter if he does that.

"Binnie, talk to me once you're fine, okay? I'm just here for you, you know that. I hope I'll finally see you tomorrow. Take care."

Soobin heard the footsteps away and he stood up to watch Beomgyu from his window. He cried again and then noticed the box he kept on his shelve. He went there then takes it out and opens. A box filled with memories with Jaemin but there's one thing he never touched since then.

It's an envelope and he doesn't know what's inside it. He received this at the day of the younger's funeral. Jaemin's mom found this inside his room and when she read it's for Soobin she kept it and gave to him. Soobin never wanted to open it but this time he really wanted to.

His hands are shaking in fear while he's still crying with low sobs. He gently opens the envelope and there's a piece of handwritten paper for him.

To Mr. Choi Soobin

If you're reading this then I'm probably gone now.
First, I wanna say sorry for hiding the truth about my illness. I just don't want to bother you about it and I really thought I am fine. Second, I have a half older brother and he really wants to meet you because I always talk him about you hahahaha! I hope you two will meet and if you do, I hope he'll take care of you two just like what both of you are doing to me. Third, Soobin I don't want you to lock yourself up with guilt. I want you to free yourself from those. This isn't your fault. You loved me and just thought of what's the best. Maybe, my time is just really up. Actually, I should have died sooner that's what the doctor said so I don't really care about getting beaten up because at the end, I'll still die. But you know? Somehow, I want to be greedy, I want to live more and be with you but... maybe... maybe that's not the real plan.
Anyways! I always love you, Soobin and thank you so much! Stop being hard on yourself and just have fun. I'm already gone and you need to live. Don't worry about me just focus on yourself. Be happy because that's what fits you the most! Keep on running! Take care, Soobin! Thank you for loving me.

Truly yours,
Lee Jaemin

"Hey! Choi Yeonjun!" Beomgyu roared when he enter their room first thing in the morning that made the other students looked at them.

Yeonjun bluntly looked at Beomgyu whose eyes are stabbing him. Yeonjun stays calm even if Beomgyu's approaching him and grab his collar.

"What did you do to Soobin, huh!? What!?" Beomgyu growls and hands even went tighter this time.

"Let go. Stop barking if you don't know anything," Yeonjun just replied and looked at him sharply.

"The hell did you do that he's not even showing up in class and even barely seeing his mom? What—"

"Shut the fuck up!" Yeonjun yelled and pushed Beomgyu away that made him fall on the floor, hitting his back on the desks.

Students went out of their seats and leave the two alone. No one asks for help, no one went out to report it, and no one dares to stop them. They are just looking at them and even the students outside already gathered.

"You don't fucking know a thing so just shut up!" Yeonjun raved, eyes darkened and fists forming hard.

Beomgyu madly attacked him and they started throwing punch on each other. Yeonjun's stronger than him and he just easily throws Beomgyu around and hit him. Beomgyu's face has now full of bruise and cuts and Yeonjun even kick his stomach, almost making him puke his own blood.

"I told you not to mess up with me," Yeonjun muttered and was about to throw another hit on Beomgyu when a hard kick from his back hit him that causes him to hit the locker at his face. "Fuck!"

"B-Beomgyu! Beomgyu," Soobin's voiced was heard and helped Beomgyu.

"Why do you need to show up at this kind of situation?" Beomgyu whispered, almost closing his eyes.

"L-let's go," Soobin just replied and held Beomgyu up.

"I hope you helped him like that before too, Soobin," Yeonjun mocked and stand straight, looking at Soobin.

Soobin made Beomgyu sits comfortable first before turning around to glare at Yeonjun. Soobin's mad. "Yeonjun, you don't know how he really felt and I pity you for thinking that way," he stated.

"What did you say? What the fuck did you just say!?"

"He... He never wanted me to think that way. You're the only one who can't accept what happened," Soobin remarked, voice is low.

Yeonjun scoffs and went to him and throw a punch on his cheek. Soobin's reflexes made him dodge it and he pulled Yeonjun's shoulders down to hit his abdomen with his knee. Yeonjun quickly recovered and attempted to hit him again but Soobin grab his wrist, pulled it and smashed him on the tables.

Yeonjun smirks when he felt blood dripping from his forehead and he looks at Soobin who's glaring at him. The glare he saw once Soobin beats up the kid who bullied his half-brother. It's the glare he's been looking for and now he's seeing it.

"Let's just end this, Yeonjun," Soobin stated, expressionless.

But Yeonjun didn't replied and tried attacking Soobin again, this time he didn't dodge and their attacks on each other are getting more intense. Yeonjun grabs Soobin's hair and banged his head on one of the desk that made his brow bleeds. Soobin didn't mind it and attacked Yeonjun again by cornering him in the wall and continuously hard slapping his face until it bleeds, and Soobin's not showing any emotion.

Yeonjun found an opening and hit a punch on Soobin's stomach and Yeonjun pulled his head to bang on the wall but gladly Soobin covered his head with his forearm and then Soobin made a move to flip back Yeonjun and when Yeonjun's back hits the floor, Soobin pulled a chair.

Soobin lifts it up and is determined to crash it on Yeonjun. Yeonjun who's on the floor is just looking at him, panting, and waiting if that chair will really hit him and he noticed something.

Soobin's crying.

Soobin throws the chair almost hitting Yeonjun's head and the students around them gasps because they really thought it will land on Yeonjun's face. Soobin didn't say anything and just started walking, passing by Yeonjun but he heard him say.

"Hey, why? Why did you left him?"

Soobin's tears continued to stream down. "Do you think he'll be happy if he found out about what you're doing?" he paused to breathe in. "Let's just accept it, Yeonjun. He's gone and we can't do anything about it anymore."
