She remembered her mother telling her ,

"Physical Beauty  means nothing if you do not have a character just as beautiful to compliment it ."

And to  drive her point home her mother had told her how kindness and compassion always won the hearts of  the people in the fairy tales that she loved to read.

And  so with that lesson engraved in her mind, she had always treasured a kind heart more then a beautiful face,

but now, she had reached a point in life where she finally saw  that what she had believed was merely something too good to be true.

Yes , her mother had been right,

Character usually wins but only in the last pages of a book.
