Chapter 16

"Ugh, school sucks!"

"Tell me something I don't know." Janus muttered. "We're on half term, anyway. Why does school suck for you specifically?"

"Homework." Remus said simply. Janus sighed and looked over the top of his book at his boyfriend.

"Rem." He said. Remus put a hand up, shushing Janus.

"No!" He said, putting a finger on Janus' lips. "Don't use that tone with me."

Janus pulled Remus' hand away from his face. "What tone?"

"The disappointed tone. The tone you use when you're trying to be my parent rather than my da-"

"And I think we know where that is both going, please don't finish that sentence." Janus said quickly. Remus giggled.

"I got you." He giggled. Janus shook his head and smiled at Remus.

"Okay, fine. You got me." He laughed slightly. "How's this, for every piece of homework you do, I'll give you a kiss."

Remus pouted. "That's bribery, Jan."

Janus laughed. "Oh come on. I thought you liked that kinda thing?"

"No, I like arson. Bribery leaves traces, arson doesn't."

"What if you were to bribe someone to commit arson for you?" Janus asked, closing his book. Remus shrugged.

"There's still loose ends to tie up. Once the money runs out, or whatever you're bribing them with, someone might blab."

"But that would still mean that they got a prison sentence, wouldn't it? Because they committed the crime."

"Yeah, I guess. But why wouldn't you just go commit arson yourself? Cut out the middle man. Or woman. Or person."

Janus rolled his eyes and gave Remus a shove in the side. "Come on, Sherlock Holmes. Homework time."

"But if I'm Sherlock, I don't need to do homework."

"I'm pretty sure Sherlock had to do homework when he was our age."

Remus sighed. Janus shook his head slightly, smiling like he was trying to hold back a laugh. "What in Hell do I have to do to get you to start your homework?"

"I'm starting, I'm starting!" Remus protested, rolling over to his desk and getting up. Janus laughed under his breath.

"You're such an idiot, Rem." He said. "Tell me if you need any help or if you've finished something."

"Hey Jan?"

Janus looked up from his book. "Yeah?"

"I'm done." Janus smiled at Remus. "So that means..." Remus let the question hang in the air.

"Hold on, Rem. I'm just finishing my chapter."

"Jaaaaan."

"Fine. My page."

"No!" Remus insisted, jumping on the bed beside Janus. Janus looked at Remus over the top of his book before returning his eyes to the page. Remus grabbed Janus book and held it over his head.

"Rem!" Janus whined. "Give me my book back."

Remus shook his head and Janus sighed. He sat up properly and grabbed Remus' neck, pulling him close and kissing him. Remus smiled into the kiss and wrapped his arms around Janus' shoulders. Janus broke the kiss and grabbed behind himself, grabbing his book off Remus.

"There. Now we've both gotten what we want." He said. He looked at Remus' face and bit back a laugh. "Rem?" He asked. "You good?"

Remus blinked a few times before grinning sheepishly. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine." He rubbed the back of his head. Janus laughed, not unkindly.

"You're adorable, Rem. Now come on, back to work." Remus pouted but, this time, didn't complain.

Guess who's had a shitty day? I have! Wunderbar.
Bye,
Blaize
