(Y/N)'s POV

I shut my alarm off groggily and sat up, rubbing my eyes, them darting to the tulips. “If I don’t get there on time, he’d think I don’t wanna see him..” I whispered, as I shuffled to get clothes on. I splashed water on my face, rubbed my eyes, stretched… “God I wish I had a caffeine patch or something..” I groaned, opening my door, I quickly jetted back in before it shut, realizing my bag wasn’t on my back. “3 hours, never again. Tonight I’m sleeping 10.” I huffed, pacing about to grab my stuff. A tad more awake after my forgetful expedition I scanned the tulips again, anxious to know why they reminded him of me. I grabbed my phone, debating on asking (r/n). After a second I decided it’d be best than asking him and sounding stupid. After it rang through I walked back to my door.

“Nnnngggg….. You know the time?” (r/n) greeted me with a yawn following suit.
“Yeah, time for me to get to the con. Hey, you know what red tulips mean?” I asked quietly, hoping she didn’t question why.
“Oh my god!!!” She squealed in my ear, tired leaving her. “First love! Innocent love! Did Shoto give you some?” I rolled my eyes, envisioning her rolling on her stomach, feet kicking in the air.

“No, it was in a x reader.” I laughed, hoping she’d leave me be.

“I hope he gives you some! It’d be so cute!” I hung up and made my way to the coffee shop, seeing Shoto. I sighed, smiling some, and walked in.

“Can I have the strongest thing you offer?” I spoke up, walking behind the male, peeking to the cashier. “I’m on no sleep and have a male to give my time to.” I tried my best flirtatious voice, but failed it coming out as a tired slur mixed with a yawn. Shoto turned to me and his face lit up in delightful surprise.

“Good morning (Y/N).” He whispered in greeting. I returned the smile as I rubbed my eye for the umteenth time.

“Good morning Shoto. How did you sleep?” I yawned, before motioning to the take out tray of coffee. “Guess your orders here.” He turned and grabbed the tray and we traded places as I paid for the coffee I ordered upon walking in.

“I actually slept pleasantly.” I turned my head and saw him kick the floor lightly. Bet he’s blushing.. I sighed as I grabbed the drink and thanked the cashier. Taking a sip, I shook at the feeling that shot through my body. “Did you not?” His genuine worry made me almost choke on my next sip.

“Uh… No, not really.” I rubbed the back of my neck.

“Then, please, go rest.” He opened the door, letting me out. “I can wait till you’re well.” My face flushed and I rubbed my arm shyly.

“No.. I promised you a day and a half. Sleeping takes me from that, I’ll be fine.” His free hand took my shoulder and he lowered to my gaze, causing me to blush more.

“Don’t overwork yourself, I wouldn’t be okay with you hurting yourself for me..” I nodded slowly, dazed by the concern that danced in his eyes. He sighed and led me to the convention in silence while I drank the coffee. I opened the door for him, my energy suddenly hitting a spike. Shoto thanked me as he made his way to distribute the drinks to his comrades. I watched, heading to the familiar stall. Sitting in my spot, I looked at the girl standing in front of it.

“Hi!” I smiled. She frowned at me and looked around.

“Who are you? This is Shoto’s seat.” I laughed dryly and grinned.

“And where were you day one and two?” I asked, my voice more snarky than I intended. Her face turned to one of disgusted shock and Shoto sat down by me soon after, scooting his seat right by me and laying his chin on his hand.

“Hello.” He said boredly, causing a giggle to slip as I covered my mouth. I peeked over to see a smile tug at his lips. The girl turned a glare in my direction and I shrugged. “What do you want?” His voice reminded me of when I first walked over here as she held out a poster.

“Will you sign it?” She asked and he took a deep sigh and signed it for her. As she turned away sharply, I laughed.

“I met you the same way. I wonder what’s so different..” His hand hesitantly took mine and I looked at him.

“You didn’t leave so easily.. To be honest I watched you as you stood there before leaving. And I caught you looking in my direction. You didn’t look at me with ‘he’s an immune actor’. You worried about me…. When I scowl, people leave. But you didn’t…?” His voice trailed off as he timidly created invisible circles on the table with his finger. “It’s weird and makes no sense… I’m not familiar with any of this. And I’ve read that the first won’t be the last, so I don’t even know if I want to ask you out… Cause, then you’d leave me, just being that first..” I blinked, looking down. It makes perfect sense, but one question planted in my mind. What does he mean by that?

“Wait…” I whispered, his eyes darting back to mine. “You’re afraid to ask me out cause you don’t want your heart broken?” His head moved in debate as he took in a sharp breath.

“No… No.” He looked to the side, his thumb fidgetly rubbing my hand. “I really like you… And… If it’s impossible for you to be my first and last… I don’t want you to be my first, cause I think you’d be a pretty good last?” As the words slowly settled, a smile formed on my face.

“It all depends on if we’re willing to work past hardships. Many people have so many relationships cause they throw away theirs over small stuff.” He let out a gentle laugh as his thumb continued to rub my hand.

“We’ll have so many of those… Would you be able to deal with that?” I looked down at our clasped hands and nodded.

“I think so.” We stayed silent as he looked to be in thought. I leaned my arm on the table and admired his gentle features. His eyes meeting mine caused me to blush and look away.

“In about two weeks we’ll be starting the filming for season two, would you join us?” I scratched my neck at his straightforwardness.

“Oh, I don’t know… It sounds really nice, but I’d just get in the way..” His hand tightened some and I looked up.

“No you wouldn’t. Please. My fellow co-workers love you, they’d see no problem.” I smiled.

“But I have my puppy, and my friend to worry about. And my job…” The more I rattled off the more I realized I was telling myself that I shouldn’t, not him. His hopeful facade fell as he nodded.

“You’re right, I can’t just take you from your life… But how will I be able to see you?” I smiled softly.

“Video call maybe. We shouldn’t be too hasty to jump into a relationship anyway..” He let out a soft sigh and scooted closer, pulling me partially off the chair to be closer.

“Okay..Okay...” I blushed as he started to pull me in his lap.

“Hey…” I whispered. “Stop…” He did that and looked at me.

“Sorry.” I smiled and poked his nose.

“It’s just this is a very public place, and you’re supposed to be presentable.” He nodded, yet kept his hands loosely on my hips. My position wasn’t that comfortable, with my leg over his, and half my ass on my chair, but I decided I couldn’t say no and stayed there.

We talked idly, exchanging stories of our pasts. I smiled, listening as he told me about a time he fell off his bike into a flower pot. I softly giggled. “I needed stitches.” He exclaimed lightly.

“How badass.” I grinned as he laid his head on my shoulder.

“Very.” He agreed, holding back a chuckle. I laughed, watching the room empty. “I guess it’s about time to leave.” He hummed into my shoulder. I nodded, standing up. “Would you like to accompany me to lunch?” I nodded happily as he stood up, he held out his hand and I took it. We walked in silence looking at the cars pass by as we thought about a restaurant to go to.

“Shoto…” I stopped, trying to find the words. He stopped and turned to me, a gentle smile on his face. “I’ve known you for only a few days, and you’ve made them very memorable.. I’m conflicted though? I want to tell you yes, cause it’s just so amazing getting to be in close proximity, it’s comforting, but it’s early.. I only fought through my extreme fatigue this morning cause I want nothing more than to tell you yes. But… Would that even be okay?” His smile never faltered as I spoke.

“You tell me… I want to shower you in affection.” He laughed rubbing his shoulder. “And, if it wasn’t truly okay… you would have gotten off my lap sooner, right?” I blinked, frozen. Holy fuck I sat on his lap. That’s right. I took a deep breath, trying to calm down.

“Then yes?” We shared a laugh at the awkward way I made it a question.

“That yes means I get to actually hold your hand.” My laughing stopped and I pouted holding it out for him. As we held hands we continued our search for food.

“How about here? It’s not too expensive.” I smiled, pointing to a nearby place. His deep chuckle caught me off guard and I looked at him.

“Prices don’t matter.” He gave me a sweet smile. “But if that’s where you want to go, then alright. I nodded shyly and let him lead me to the door, he opened it and bowed a little. “After you.” My face flared and I scurried in. He’s lying, he’s done this before. I told myself as I tried to cool my heating face. My thoughts scattered to the depths of my mind as he took my hand to follow the waiter that would be tending to us. I walked with him timidly, still dazed by his actions from minutes ago. He pulled out my seat for me as the waiter set the menus down, I sat down and felt the seat move as he effortlessly scooted it in.

“Do you guys know what you’d like to drink?” Shoto sat down in front of me in his own seat and smiled.

“Can I have a sprite?” He asked and looked at me with a smile, I blushed and let a stumbled mess leave my mouth.

“Could I have a… uhh (favorite drink)...” The waiter nodded and walked off, I let out a relieved sigh and looked over to see Shoto grinning at me.

“You don’t get out often do you?” He asked, opening the menu. I shook my head, the heat returned to my face as I fumbled to look at my menu. I heard an excited noise come from Shoto and moved the menu to find what was up. “Sorry…. They have cold soba here.” His voice came across more childishly and I couldn’t stop the soft smile that formed.

“That’s good.” I hummed, looking back at my menu. Hmmmm..Maybe I’ll get that…
