Chapter 1.0

Chapter One

We Meet Again

Friday came a lot faster then expected. Before I knew it I was standing at the airport saying goodbye to my mother and father.

My mother was crying as she told me how excited she was that I was going out into the world making my dreams a reality, little did she know that my so called dreams had turned into nightmares due to a certain someone.

I waved goodbye to my parents as Kate dragged me out to the tar mat, where the private jet is suppose to pick me. I stood there with my suitcase in hand as the pilot escorted us onto the plane, packing my luggage away in the bottom.

The plane was the perfect size for Kate and I. There were several beige coloured seats, a large television as well as a mini fridge scattered around the plane. The sun was shining through the small windows sending dancing waves of light throughout the plane.

A couple of minutes after settling into the plane, the pilot came over the intercom telling us that we were preparing for takeoff and that we should fasten our seat belts and stay seated until the seatbelt light turned off.

I never enjoyed plane rides. With how many flights I've  taken over the years you would have assumed that I would be use to it by now, but that's not the case. I find myself popping two gravol in my mouth the morning of the flight in order to prevent nausea, not to mention the packs of gum I go through a flight to try to stop my ears from popping.

The roaring of the planes engines interrupts my line of thought as we slowly advance towards the runway. I feel my heart rate increase as I attempt to slow it with the deep breathing techniques I learnt on set years ago.

Louder and louder the engines seem to get before the plane finally begins picking up speed. I watch out window as the large white lines fly by within seconds. The plane bobs up and down as the tires attempt to lift off the ground allowing us to take flight.ed

Finally, the planes tires remove themselves from the asphalt as we soar through the air climbing in height. I ferociously chew my gum trying to prevent my ears from popping as I feel the pressure building all around me.

Despite my attempts, my ears still manage to pop.

Around ten minutes into the flight Kate approaches me carrying a large stack of papers banded together by a staple. "Here dear." She says handing me the stack. "This is your script. This Sunday you will begin filming scene one, act one, so the director has asked that you have most of it memorized. The flight is only three hours long, so I though this will keep you busy."

Cast:
Brooklyn Meadows - Charlotte Johnson
Ryder Williams - Josh DeAndrews
Sarah Peters - Natasha Witherspoon
Joanne Amour - Yvonne Bell

My eyes wander the pages aimlessly until a small section of the text stands out.

Scene five, act two:

Charlotte - (approaches Josh) I find you so aggravating. But why is it so hard for me to stay away from you?

Josh - Charlotte. The sooner you realize your love for me, the sooner your self battles will be put to rest.

I groan at the sight of the lines. Why is it that Kate always manages to book me for some cliche teenage drama.

"Charlotte, I forgot to mention. Tomorrow morning you have a photo shoot with Ryder for the television teaser posters."

"Just wonderful." I mumble, throwing the script down onto the seat beside me.

A stewardess comes by offering a variety of drinks and packaged airplane food. I settle for a Diet Coke as well as a package of salted peanuts before I send myself back into the script and the world of make believe.

---

Exactly three hours after taking off our plane landed at the Miami International Airport. My bodyguards are waiting for me as soon as I step foot off of the plane. I glance down at my phone reading the time that appears on the glowing screen, 9:10.

"How did you find the flight." Kate asks appearing next to me.

"It was alright. My ears are terribly sore, and my stomach is doing loops but I sure am glad to be back on the ground." I say with a small laugh.

"I know you must be quite tired and exhausted from flying. I have arraigned a limo to come pick us up from the airport and drop us off at our hotel." She says as we follow the body guards down the tar mat towards a side entrance of the air port.

We quickly make our way through the side entrance, climbing up several flights of stairs before we reach the main part of the airport. My bodyguards check behind them to be sure I am still with them before proceeding to lead me through the sea of bored and tired people awaiting their flights.

Several people notice my presence as I increase my pace not wanting to associate with anyone given my current state.

"Brooklyn." They scream as the sound of cameras fills the air. "Can we please have your autograph." I stop for a moment to sign a couple of shirts and movies before making my way towards the white hummer limo which is parked out front.

The crowd which has gathered behind me follows me till they reach as far as they can go. I continue walking past the crowd and make my way outside as the sounds of cameras becomes much more silent.

The glass doors open in front of me as I make a dash towards the car in an attempt to limit the amount of photos that are taken of me.

As much as I love my fans, the paparazzi are a complete other story. They are worse then having a mosquito follow you around all day constantly buzzing in your ear, they are pests that you cannot get rid of, their mission in life to get as many embarrassing photos of you they can.

Once I'm seated in the black leather seats, my eyes wander outside looking at the sights. A large crowd of people is littered in front of the airport slowly dispersing as I leave. The dark night sky is illuminated with bright neon signs and streetlights hanging above.

"It's a short drive to our hotel, Serendipity Falls Inn. We will be staying there for one evening and the next day. Tomorrow morning you will have to be up at around nine o'clock, for the photo shoot of coarse!" Kate speaks, reading off of her phone.

The ride to the hotel didn't take much time as promised, all though I found myself drifting to sleep here and there.

The large building towered over me, the outlines of Windows were illuminated by the glowing lights from inside. Walking through the glass doors I was in awe. Behind the front desk there was a large waterfall flowing into a small river which filled with a variety of koi fish lead around the lobby. Small wooden bridges crossed the river leading to different rooms.

I follow Kate to the front desk where she checks us in. "I know you don't like the special treatment, but I have one of the penthouse suits reserved for you. A couple of cast members are staying on the floor too!" She says placing a key card in my hands.

"No it's wonderful. Thank you, for everything." I say following her towards the elevator in the far back corner.

She smiles. "No worries dear, that's my job."

The large silver elevators lets out a loud ding as we make our way into the small space. Kate presses the yellow button glowing with the word penthouse, before pressing the close door button.

The doors slowly begin to close as I continuously push the button hoping they will move faster. Just as the doors are about closed, a hand slips in between them preventing them from closing any further.

The large doors open once again revealing a smirking Ryder.

He wipes his chocolate brown hair out of his face before standing against the wall beside me. He is wearing dark-wash jeans and white v-neck tee which fit perfectly to his body showing off a hint of his abs below. His piercing blue eyes meet mine as I quickly shift my glance to the ground.

"So princess, we meet again."

I was shocked. Absolutely shocked to see him once again. I was expecting to see him tomorrow for the photo shoot, giving me plenty of time to figure out how I was going to be in the same room with Satan for that long, but of coarse, he had to ruin my plans.

I find myself staring at the floor trying to avoid any conversation with Ryder. Kate is watching me, being sure that I don't take this time as an opportunity to rip his eyes out of his face.

The minute elevator ride seemed to drag on forever. My hands were getting clammy, my mind was racing miles per minutes, and before I knew it I found myself staring into his blue eyes that I use to love.

"You know you shouldn't be checking me out when your manager is in here." He whispers, his soft lips lingering against my ear. I felt his warm breathe heating up my neck causing my breath to be caught in the back of my throat, as I stand there staring at him like a deer in the headlights.

"Ryder." I hardly whisper trying to lengthen the distance between us, the memories of us playing tricks on my mind.

"I know you miss me." He states brushing a piece of hair away from my face. I look up to find Kate typing away on her phone, completely oblivious to what is happening right in front of her.

"Please stop." I say moving away from him. "There is no way in hell that I'd ever miss you! So please stop. I'm trying so hard right now to not rip your eyes from your sockets but you trying to flirt with me isn't helping that situation to much."

A chuckle ex caped his lips as the ding of the elevator had him standing there as I quickly made my way down the hall not giving him a chance to respond.

"See you tomorrow princess." He shouts after my retreating body.
