Predicta

"His eyes, his hair..." everything about him reminded him of his wife. Gabriel looked down as he sighed. Above him, hung a photo of the ever so beautiful Mrs. Agreste. She used to be a charming model, well, before she disappeared.

His only hope was Adrien now. This reminded him to go and check on his son. He hasn't seen him in quite a while now. Gabriel put his glasses back on after wiping a few tears. He went straight down the hallway to Adrien's room.

He opened the door only to find an empty bed.

"Adrien?" There was a short yet deadly silence before Mr. Agreste's voice echoed down the  hallway.

"ADRIEN!!!"

—————

The night was calm and for once, Paris looked like any other normal city in all its beauty. There hadn't been any akuma attacks since last week but that doesn't stop Ladybug and Chat Noir from their daily patrol.

Chat sighed, " Don't you think Paris would do just fine without these patrols? I mean, how many nights are we tiring ourselves out, hunting for akumas?"
"Sorry, Chat. I'd love to stay and talk but the city needs our help. A superhero doesn't always have a choice. We can't let our guard down just because there hadn't been any akuma attacks recently. Who knows? Perhaps, Hawkmoth is planning something bigger this time."

Chat kept his gaze at the Eiffel Tower. "We live in the city of love and I have dates with my Lady on a rooftop, looking for nonexistent, evil butterflies! How ironic-"

"This is not a date!" She snapped. " This is serious, Chat Noir. There are innocent lives out there. Just one of those evil butterflies is enough to turn everything upside down."
Chat turned back to her with a smirk on his lips.

"C'mon now, Bugaboo! This is the usual excuse you always say whenever we're having a moment. Are you sure you've been avoiding me to keep Paris safe? Because, to me it looks like", his smirk became a full grin now, " you're into someone else. Tell me Bugaboo, who stole your heart before I could?"

"What!? No! T-that's n-not how it i-is!" She suddenly found herself stuttering at the thought of Adrien. "I-I mean-" she paused when she realised that she hadn't meant anything at all. He was right.

"Did I hear M'lady stutter!? Well, now I know why you were 'keeping your distance' and 'saving Paris' all along." He drew quotes in the air as he teased her. Chat came closer to her, his eyes radiating a bright glow of green. His face almost touched hers until he stopped.

"You are litter-aly turning red, M'lady. Who's the fur-tunate guy?"

—————

Gabriel stormed into his room and turned on the intercom.

"Natalie! I need you to find Adrien, now!"
Natalie was pretty shocked to hear the message from Mr. Agreste and that too, about Adrien gone missing. Again. "Yes, sir.", was all she managed to say. She turned around in her bed.

"Where could this boy possibly run off to? He'll probably be in the school-" and then it hit her. Natalie looked around in her bedroom. Her face went white as she stared at the clock.  All it showed was "12:00 AM".

—————

"Well...maybe..." she hesitated. Ladybug sighed. He wasn't going to let go of this that easily.

"You're right, Chat Noir.  I love someone else and I don't think you deserve to be lead on if my heart actually goes to-", there was a slight pause, "this someone."
Chat smiled slightly, but Ladybug could always see if something was off about her partner.  His eyes which were bright with excitement before had faded down to a hint of disappointment.

"Chat," she tried to console him, " I know you're disappointed. Please don't be. I'm only glad that I told you right now because you'll find someone better than me, Chat. I....I just don't think you deserve to be treated like this when I like someone else. Besides, we'd risk ourselves getting hurt in the process of trying to know each other."

Chat faked a laugh. "You've cat to be kitten me, Bugaboo! Where am I going to find someone better than you?" He asked it more to himself than to her.

Ladybug frowned. She hated to see him broken. He was Chat Noir, of all people and she had hurt her funny, pun-loving kitty. "Chat..." She held his hands in hers.

"No, M'lady, you're right. If I truly wanted you to be happy, I'd leave it for your heart to choose."

He backed away and faded into the night sky, leaving a very confused Ladybug.

—————

Marinette woke up groggily in her bed, groaning as she checked around for her phone. She let out a shriek when she saw the time. "Oh no, Tikki! I'm gonna be late. Again!"
Tikki wakes up hearing a 'thud' as Marinette falls out of her bed. "Um...Marinette?"
Marinette stands up. "I'm fine, Tikki! I can do it. I'll make it just in time before the bell rings."

"You don't have to go if you're not feeling well. You're stressing yourself out too much."
Marinette rolled her eyes. "Come on, Tikki. I'm sure Ladybug can handle a few lectures at school. Besides," she gushed dreamily, "Adrien will be there!"

Running to school was easier said than done but Marinette had gotten used to it by now. She halted right before bumping into Alya, her best friend who'd always forgive her clumsiness.

Alya held her friend before she could fall face flat on the ground. She rolled her eyes, "Typical Mari."

They entered the classroom and heard the all-too-familiar voice of Chloe. She walked upto Marinette as she sat down in her seat. Chloe opened her mouth to say something snarky but Marinette stopped her, causing her to just stand there awkwardly with her mouth wide open.

"I can't deal with you now, Chloe." She said wearily as she saw that Adrien's seat was empty. Moreover, yesterday hasn't been the best night of all. She had really hurt her best friend and her loyal partner. Marinette was sure that things will never be the same between them after last night. Although she hates to admit it, Marinette has always loved his puns and she just couldn't imagine a world where he was serious. And yesterday, he was pretty serious about what he said. She wasn't really thinking when she had confessed her love for someone else. Of course, she couldn't think of anything when Adrien came up in her mind! Marinette mentally slapped herself for messing things up with her partner.

Chloe snapped back with another of her sassy remarks but eventually stopped when she saw that Marinette wasn't listening to her anymore.

Marinette was lost in thought until she saw Nino open the door. She peeked behind him only to see him staring back at her suspiciously. "He must've thought I was a creep!" She muttered as she looked away.

Her hopes went down when she noticed that Adrien wasn't behind Nino as he made his way over to his seat.

Alya put a comforting hand on her friend's back. "Calm down, girl. Maybe he's just late." Marinette gave a brief smile but she couldn't concentrate in class for the rest of the day. She wondered about what could've happened to the blonde haired boy who used to sit in front of her.

"Uh...Mari?"

It was Alya who broke her chain of thoughts while she was absentmindedly packing her stuff to go home. "You know it's still recess, right? You don't have to pack all your stuff now!"

Marinette put her bag down. Her friend could tell she was upset from the look on her face. "Chill out, girl! Adrien might have a fever or something. He'll be back soon. No biggie!"

Marinette frowned. "I don't know, Alya. Are you sure it's a fever? I mean, maybe his father changed his mind and forced him to stay at home. I respect his father and all but sometimes I feel bad for Adrien too. I'm sure he has problems with his dad. Or maybe, he went for a photoshoot and decided to never come back because he's a great model and didn't deserve to listen to all these boring classes here, or maybe he just moved out of Paris to support his father's designs all over the world, or maybe he found out I was stalking him and decided to never show up again!" Her eyes widened at the last possibility.

Alya's jaw dropped after hearing her friend blabber about the different reasons why the boy would be absent that day. " That's a lot of 'maybe's' y'know?"

"Oh Alya, where could he be?"

Alya sighed as she patted her head. "You seriously need help, girl. You know that, right?"

—————

"Where is he!?"

Gabriel roared into the screen and Natalie was glad this conversation wasn't in person. "I've searched for him everywhere, Sir...e-even the school. I-I couldn't find him." She stammered as she thought of worse things that could've happened to him.

"I don't care, Natalie! I need him back here, now!"

Natalie sighed as he switched off his camera. "Where could he be right now? I wish I could predict where this boy would run off to next time!" She held her head in her hands. She hadn't slept all night, searching for him and Mr. Agreste wasn't giving it a rest either. She's been a loyal assistant but she had to admit that the job was tiring her out. Needless to say about the frequent trips to showcase his fashion lines. Each time, Gabriel gave her an impossible task. She had to organise almost everything including his trip to London last week and he hadn't given her a break since then. His orders keep getting bigger. After all, she was the only assistant who agreed to work with a man like him. Natalie had thought of quitting her job back then but had stayed back when she felt bad for Adrien. Even though she didn't show it, she actually cared for the boy. She couldn't help but wonder where he could be right now.

Natalie looked down helplessly. "Please let him be alright. I know I'm not his mother but I wish I knew what he was thinking when he ran off every time."

What she didn't see was a black butterfly slowly making its way through the window of the car. Natalie felt something bump into her glasses and before she knew it, a voice spoke to her. "Predicta, I am Hawkmoth. I grant you the power to predict the next move of your opponent. You will no longer be searching around desperately, for your newly found powers could sense the location of any person you focus on. You don't have to take orders from anyone anymore, provided you bring me something in return-"

"But what good are these powers when I can't fight the people giving me orders?" She broke him off before he could claim his reward.

Hawkmoth rubbed his chin. "It's a bit risky...but since you have been very loyal to me..." He thought for a while, then spoke. "I also grant you the power to stun. Your loved ones will not run away from you anymore..... and so will your foes. You can freeze people with your powerful rays. Predicta, do you wish to know where he is?" He repeated, " These powers are yours if you bring me Ladybug's and Chat Noir's miraculous. "

The door of the limo flung open and stepping out was a tall, thin lady in a black mask. She was wearing a long, black gown with streaks of red running down on it. Her dark hair was tied up into a messy bun along with bright red ribbons that stuck out from it.

Hawkmoth felt the aura of negativity getting stronger as he heard her say,
"Yes, Hawkmoth!"

Hey guys,
I'm the author of this book and you can call me Amelia (lol idk because it sounds fancy?)
So, how's the first chapter? I've always wondered what if Natalie got akumatized and there you are! Predicta! (I know it sounds stupid but making villain names is Hawkmoth's job. XD)

I'll be updating, let's see, two chapters a week? If possible, more but I'm very busy with exams right now.
Stay tuned for more and don't forget to comment your opinions.
(English isn't my first language but I'll try my best.)

Claws in! (*sigh I love him!)
