"M-Marinette?"

Paris was chiming with its daily commotion. Adrien stared into the bright blue sky ahead, from the rooftop he was standing on. He looked down on the countless posters of him all across the city, knowing that he was wearing a mask during the day too.

Adrien spotted a small girl hugging her mother in the park. Her father was taking a picture of the two. A small memory of a blonde woman flashed across his mind.

"Why did she leave me? Why don't I get to live a life like that, Plagg?" He thought aloud.
Plagg stopped nibbling his cheese and went over to Adrien's shoulder. He didn't exactly know how to answer that question so he kept quiet.

" She had left me...she had left me too." He thought. First it was his mom and now his Lady. Why did people leave him alone when he needed them the most? A tear rolled down from his dull green eyes as he pondered on why his mom would leave him.

"Did everyone really hate me that much? Even my mom? Is that why my father even refuses to talk to me?"

He frowned as he looked at his ring. "I don't know who I am anymore, Plagg. I've been living under masks all my life! It's just a big lie to cover up how broken I am. The worst part is..." he paused, " I'm not perfect in either of these masks."

Plagg sat down on Adrien's arm and looked at the blonde with concern.
"Hey, kid, you....uh...okay?"

Adrien glared at his kwami. Plagg sighed. "Oh! You know I'm not really good at this thing!" He was playfully rolling on his holder's hair now. "But I do care about you!"

"Well, on the bright side," Adrien gave a faint smile, "you actually forgot about the Camembert for a minute."

"Hey, Mari! I can ask Nino to check on Adrien if you want!" Alya nudged her best friend as they walked back to their class. Marinette smiled. Alya always came up with a solution. The other students had arrived already and were waiting for the next class after recess. Ms. Mendeleiev walked in with a load of chemicals as usual. She was just about to explain on her new topic before an explosion went off and the door burst open, revealing a lean woman in a black mask.

"Adrien! Where is he!?" She demanded as she stormed in. Ms. Mendeleiev walked straight upto her angrily. "He hasn't come to school today. And you're gonna have to pay for that door, Miss!"

Predicta glared through her mask. A radiant beam hit Ms. Mendeleiev, causing her to stand still. Very still. "My intuitions tell me you're only good with words. It's a waste of my time if you can't fight for real!" She turned around to see if Adrien was in the group of kids who were now hiding behind the benches. She had an evil grin as she stretched out her hands to release red streaks of light. "Freeze!"

"The benches! Shield yourselves!" Marinette felt her inner Ladybug giving orders to her friends. She backed away from the classroom and opened her purse.

"No time to explain. Tikki, spots on!"

A certain boy clad in black leather (it's boyfriend material actually hehe) was seen jumping off from rooftop to rooftop.

Chat Noir was no longer the depressed Adrien. He felt a newfound freedom in hiding behind the black mask. He was no longer a part of the Agreste family. He wanted to run away from his father. From Natalie, from his busy schedule of faking smiles in front of a camera. From...Ladybug. The thought hurt him for a moment but he quickly pushed it away to the back of his mind. He was Chat Noir now. He had run away from everything that had hurt him as Adrien and he was never going to turn back.

It was then that Chat heard a loud explosion two blocks away at Collège Françoise Dupont. His eyes squinted in the direction of the building.

"Hmm, looks like something's up at school. Running away from Ladybug can wait."

—————

"Nobody's running away now!"
Predicta was charging towards the kids but soon stopped herself when she heard Hawkmoth.

"What do you think you're doing!? I thought I told you to use your powers!" He screamed in her head, causing a stabbing pain in her ear. "But I am using my powers and I still couldn't find him, Hawkmoth!" Hawkmoth didn't answer. In that moment of confusion, Predicta was knocked over by a blur of red.

"You're going down!" But before Ladybug could tackle her, Predicta sent a storm of red rays. The super heroine was thrown over to the lockers outside the classroom while shielding herself. The students watched in horror as Predicta got close enough to take away her miraculous. A silver pole hit her out of the blue. Predicta fell back but soon regained her consciousness. Ladybug took this opportunity to trap her with her yoyo.

"Chat..." Their eyes met briefly before Ladybug darted her gaze to the students gathered there.

Chat nodded. The akuma shot out even more powerful rays in an attempt to break the yoyo but Ladybug pulled it away in time. Chat immediately shielded everyone by tossing a locker with his pole. He saw a yoyo swing past him, taking Predicta back to the classroom. Chat knew his Lady wanted innocent lives to stay out of this dispute. He ran back to gather everyone to safety.

"She had still kept her distance from me."

—————

Ladybug, meanwhile, was having a hard time keeping Predicta under control. To be honest, she couldn't even get a chance to use her lucky charm. Her opponent was too fluent with this fight. "It's almost like she knows my every next move."

"Hmph!" Ladybug groaned in pain as she flashed the curtains on the akuma. She could barely manage to shield herself. The curtains she used to avoid her hit, stiffened in her hands. "You're too weak for me, Ladybug. I am Predicta and I predict your doom!"

"Oh yeah?  We'll see about that!" Ladybug did some quick thinking. A determined look crept onto her face. She faked an attack on the akuma. As Predicta prepared to counterattack, Ladybug rolled over to hide from her view. "Wait," She thought while hiding behind a bench. "That's it! That's her power!" She jumped to her side as a ray almost struck her.

"You're a fool, Ladybug! Don't you know I can always find you if I want to?" Ladybug's eyes widened. "Well, this is no normal akuma. Not only can she see into the future but she can also sense people's location!"

She knew she had to hide now. Ladybug bounced over the classroom swinging her yoyo in different directions. Predicta was confused for a minute and before she knew it, the superheroine had already left the classroom."Huh? I can't find her! I can't sense her powers anymore!" She let out a blood-curdling scream in frustration.

—————

Chat had finally convinced Alya to go along with Nino and the rest of the class, provided he give her an interview later.

He mentally patted his back as he saw the group leave. His confident smile soon faded when he noticed something. "Hmm... but there's someone missing here." His mind wandered off to a certain blunette until he heard a scream from his classroom.

It wasn't long before he ran off to find Ladybug. Only one tiny detail missing. He didn't find Ladybug at all. Instead, creeping behind a locker outside the classroom was...

"M-Marinette!?"
