Aphmau's POV
(A few days later)

They still won't allow me to go out into the restaurant and sing to the children.
Today I decided to hang out in my box with Brandon while Michael plays with other kids.
Brandon is fast asleep and my mind wonders to the souls hidden behind the wall.

When was the last time I looked at all the souls or even killed a night guard?

I walk in front of the wall and speak the words to open it.
I stand there for a moment taking in the sight of all the souls.
Each and everyone one of them are trapped in a hell like purgatory.
You can't fully pass over without your soul.
It must be torture to be trapped inside a glass jar.
Taking a deep breath, I walk into the room.
The jars have been untouched for so long that some lids contain dust on them.
Some of them slam against the glass to try and escape.
"Poor unfortunate souls~!"
I sing and break out into laughter before I can sing anymore.
"I'm sorry~" I apologize to them.
"I couldn't help myself~"

Walking into the room, I let my metal fingers gently run over the glass jars.
Some of the souls get super irritated about this and only bang on the glass harder.
Others cling to the side of the jar, trying to feel some turnoff warmth.
"I can imagine being a soul; trapped in a jar~"
I then chuckle.
"In a way I guess I am~" I say, putting my hand over where my heart might be.
With a simple smile in my face, I take a seat in the middle of the room.
"We're never going to get out of here using souls~" I say.
"It's been years~ I think we'll just have to find another way~"
I sigh and rest my chin on my hand.
Suddenly a lightbulb goes off in my head and I hope Mari wasn't around to hear it.
Mari does sleep when in my head and sometimes relives memories and liver things. So she's not really always there to listen to all my thoughts.
"Mari~?" I call out to the girl.
She doesn't respond.
"Are you there~?" I ask.
Still no response.

The coast is clear.

I smile and get up.
Looking at the time I see it's almost time for close.
With that in mind, I open up my box and hop out.

The place is now fully closed and all the kids are gone.
My dad just heads to his office to chill for the rest of the night.
"Guys~!" I call everyone over.
Looking around, I see that everyone is around me.
"Yeah?" Joey asks.
"Is some something wrong~?"
I shake my head and hold up a finger to tell them, 'one second'.

Mari?
Are you there?

No response.
Perfect!
"Okay~!" I clap my hands together.
"What's going on?" SB asks as he and SF come out of the shadows.
"Just listen~!"
He nods and closes his mouth.
"So, by now km sure we all know that we're not going to get out of here using souls~" I say.
Everyone in the room frowns.
"I was thinking that maybe we could use the souls we have to help Mari pass to the next life~!"
Everyone's eyes go wide.
"That's a good idea!" Sara says.
"Yeah!" Denis agrees.
I smile.
"And maybe we can even help SB and SF pass over~" Jason suggests.
I nod, but SF shakes her head.
"We can't pass over using souls because we aren't more than ghosts." She says.
"Then we'll figure how you can pass over when we do!" Chelsy cheers.
SF smiles and SB pats Chelsy's head.
"That would mean a lot to us." SB says.
"Well it's not like we could ever leave you behind~" Jason says.
They smile and hug each other.
"Maybe we can do this for Mari tomorrow~" I say.
SF shakes her head.
"You can't do that whole you're still pregnant."
"Oh~....right~ Then we'll do it after I have my last kid~"
Everyone agrees.
"She'll have to be in control when we do it though or it'll take you away." SF tells us.
"Okay~ Everyone be prepared; because after this last kid is born, we're going to give Mari exactly what she deserves~!"
We all cheer and shout.

We all love you Jess.
You'll he seeing Aaron sooner than you think.

Aaron's POV

The red trees could go on and on or end after one row.
I wouldn't know because it's impossible to go through them.
The old man hums an old tune.
One that I'm not familiar with.
"What song is that?" I ask.
He chuckles.
"It's a traveling song that people would sing to pass the time on the Oregon Trail."
My eyes widen.
"How old are you?" I ask.
He only chuckles.
"Good luck figuring that out."
He says.
"Cause I know everything kid."

Why is this man so suspicious?

"Can you at least tell me how long you've been here?" I ask.
He shrugs.
"I've been here so long that I've lost track of time."
I nod.
"How have you kept your sanity?" I question.
"Like I said before, time here moves much slower than down there." He reminds me.
"How come you're here?"
He sighs and looks into the small pond.
"Just like you, I'm waiting for someone." He says, a weak and sad smile on his face.
"So you're in the same boat I am." I say.
He nods.
"The difference is that the person I'm waiting for will never get here, just like Jess won't ever be here for too long."
I raise an eyebrow.
"What is that suppose to mean?"

This dude is super confusing.

"I can't tell you much now, but know that you, Jess, Jason, and Aphmau are a part of something much bigger." He tells me.
"And the way things are going, I'm not so sure that this is the end quite yet." He mumbles.

This old man weirds me out sometimes.
