I go to my room and think about what Asta said, he mentioned Friends but the concept is very confusing to me.

Do I even want it?

Would they hurt me like he did?

I trusted someone important to me and I was stabbed in the back, how? I.....I don't remember, who was that man again? I think he was my father but I don't even know anymore.

It's all so blurry.

Blue: Maybe.....maybe I do want frie-

I stop speaking as I sensed an immense amount of mana outside the base. I look outside and saw it was some sort of giant water sphere, it was massive and clearly a danger.

I already knew it was Noelle, should I go and stop it?

Blue: No, Asta would be better for it.

I watch the whole thing go on, everyone was outside and Yami grabs Asta, throwing him at the water sphere. He uses his anti magic sword and destroys it, Finral breaks their fall and I unconsciously found my self jumping down from my room.

The others tell Noelle some words of encouragement and then noticed my presence. Noelle gets up and I approach her which caused her to look away in embarrassment.

Blue:......You should take the Black Bull's words to heart, they are good for you despite being reckless and idiotic.

Noelle: [Stares in Awe] R-Really?

Blue: You have great mana and amazing potential, don't give up [Walks Away]

Noelle: [Blushes] I-I didn't expect a compliment from him

I walk past Yami but stop when he speaks to me.

Yami: Are you finally warming up to the others?

Blue: I......I don't know, maybe but I'm not sure if I want to....I don't want to get hurt again

Yami: [Looks sympathetically] Take all the time you need. Promise me you will take care of yourself

I don't say a word and leave to take a walk in the forest, while I was on my walk, I started to question myself.

Why did I give encouragement to Noelle?

Why did I put my trust in Asta to stop Noelle's failed attack?

Why was Yami giving me that look?

What did it mean? I never saw anything like it.

All of these questions swirled around my head but were paused when I could feel a presence near me. I look above me and saw a magic attack going for me.

I jump to the side and saw that the tree beside me was struck instead, it was missing a chunk which meant that it was Spatial Magic.

I sigh and look at my attacker....or should I say, Mentor.

Blue: Constance......

Constance: I see that your reflexes and awareness is still perfect as always.

Blue: Nothing is perfect, not in this kingdom or the next.

Constance: Maybe but it means that we can still improve ourselves, like you could for example

Blue: What do you want?

Constance: [Offended] How could you say that Blue? Do you not even care about your mentor?

Blue: [Tilts Head].......Should I?

Constance: [Facepalms] You really need to understand these things

Blue: ??????

Constance: [Bonks Him] You have to realise that people care for you, you idiot

Blue: Are you lying?

Constance: I would never lie

Blue:.....Do you care for me?

Constance: Of course, you're my pupil

Blue: Too bad I don't buy it

Constance: You don't?

Blue: I have been betrayed and lied to, I thought I had people who cared for me but all I see is a mask on their faces, hiding their true feelings.

Constance: Well why do you wear the mask?

Blue:.........To show that I'm broken....not that anyone would understand

3rd POV

Blue walks off and Constance had a face of worry

Constance: His condition is getting worse every day, I can't let my pupil suffer like this. He is special to me and I will do anything I can to make sure he sees the light and the meaning of true love....

Later on in the day, Blue decided to take a walk in the Royal Capital, he would do this to distract himself and distance himself from anyone. Something about being alone was nice to him and almost natural.

However there was always a part of him that didn't like this, he didn't know why and wasn't sure if he was going to find out why it irritates him.

It was slowly getting dark and Blue was minding his own business when suddnely he was approached by some guy with a knife.

Man: Hey magic knight! Hand over your money if you value your life!

Blue: Are people's mentality getting worse? I should be asking you that, I'm giving you one more chance to leave or you will never see the day of light again.

Man: Who are you to tell me Magic Knight whether I would live or not?! I have the knife and you all rely too much on your damn grimoires!

Blue: Oh well....I gave you the chance

Blue looks around and saw that it was very dark.....and when there is darkness.....there are shadows.

Blue didn't even turn back as he let his shadows do the work, the only thing you could hear were the screams of the man as his fate was left to Blue's shadows, no trace of him was left.....and he would never see the sun again......just as Blue had said.

Blue's POV

After that eventful night, it was the next day and I was on top of the Black Bulls base when I felt Yami approaching me from behind.

Blue: Yes?

Yami: Hey kid, just wanted to let you know that Magna took the other kid and Miss Royalty on their first mission.

Blue: Okay......

Yami: Problem is that they're taking too long so I want you to check up on them

Blue: Why me?

Yami: Because I said so

Blue:......Fine, where did they go?

Yami: Magna's home town, Sauccy Village

I simply nod my head and jump off the base, I stood my fall with my shadows and use them travel to my destination.

The scene changes to Asta, Noelle and Magna struggling with some mysterious wizards that had attacked the village, it was very misty and the three were almost at their limits.

Asta: D-Dammit

Magna: Why do I have to have low mana tanks?

Wizard: Your time is up

He launched many ice attacks but then something had formed in front of Asta and Magna, protecting them. Everyone was surprised until a shadow figure appeared and struck fear into everyone.

Asta: W-What is that?!

Noelle: T-That thing is scary!

The enemy wizards try to attack it but their attacks do nothing to it, one by one the wizards fall to the ground in fear, including Magna.

Asta was still up and wondered what was going on, when suddenly a voice spoke out.

Blue: Asta I expected better from you

I walk in and all eyes were on me, Asta smiled and Magna sighed in relief. My shadow figure vanished and I look at the ones who attacked this village.

Wizard: It-It's you!

Blue: Oh? You know me?

Wizard: There is no other Magic Knight that can place fear into the hearts of many as easily as you can do, Black Bull's Shadow. The emotionless shadow who hides his face under a mask.

Blue: Are you just going to worship me? Or are you going to leave?

Wizard: No I cannot, my master wants you alive and you will come with us

Blue: And I want you dead

The leader of these fools believed that he could take me on, sadly reality can often be disappointing. He uses his ice magic to make the mist even more thick so that it was hard to see.

However I saw right through his trick because many ice attacks were thrown at me. He was banking on my sight failing me but what he didn't expect was how truly skilled I was.

Blue: Shadow Magic.....Umbra Manipulation

My shadows just grab his attacks and crushed them into pieces, he assumed he struck me because when the mist dispersed, he had a confident look on his face that soon turned into fear.

Wizard: W-What?

Asta: T-That was fast!

Magna: That's our number one strongest after the Captain!

Noelle: H-He did it so casually....

Blue: So you start to worship me but then doubt my abilities? Who are you to decide whether I go in with you or not? Who decided that?

The hooded wizards that were watching this had second thought and turned to leave but they should know by now that I don't let anyone leave.

Blue: Dusk Manufacture......

I created walls to block off their escape, they look back at me and before the Ice Wizard could try one more desperate attack, I had created a Shadow Hammer and gave them one final look.

My hands were in my trench coat pockets as I command the big shadow hammer to crush them all to the ground, not killing them but dealing considerable damage.

Blue: Never......tell me what to do

All of my shadows disperse and I turned to face the others, everyone except Magna was afraid.

Asta: T-That power.....is insane! I know he was holding back against me but this much! I can tell this isn't even his best.

Noelle: N-Nozel was right, he is terrifying. He is also very strong....but he talks with no emotion. Why? Who are you truly Blue?
