The following evening, Lena returned from a quick trip to the grocery store. As she approached her door, she noticed a package placed directly in front of it. It was addressed to Maxwell. Realizing it must have been mistakenly delivered to her apartment, Lena decided to return it.

She knocked on Maxwell’s door, hoping he was home. After a moment, the door creaked open slightly. Maxwell peered out, his expression shifting from confusion to recognition when he saw Lena holding the package.

“Oh, hey! I think this was left at my door by mistake,” Lena said, extending the package toward him.

Maxwell took the package, but instead of closing the door right away, he hesitated. “Thanks. Do you want to come in for a moment?”

Lena was surprised but accepted the invitation. As she stepped inside, she noticed the apartment was sparsely decorated, save for a large, slightly ajar door leading to what looked like a room dedicated to gaming. The soft glow of LED lights and the hum of a gaming setup were clearly visible from where she stood.

Curiosity got the better of her. “Is that your gaming room?”

Maxwell glanced toward the open door and then quickly shut it, a hint of embarrassment on his face. “Yeah, it is. I, uh, do a bit of gaming in there.”

Lena’s eyes widened in excitement. “Really? That’s awesome! I actually follow a streamer called Jester. I’m a huge fan. I didn’t know you were into gaming too.”

Maxwell’s expression became more guarded, and he shifted uncomfortably. “Yeah, I play a bit. Jester, huh? That’s cool. It’s just a hobby for me.”

Lena noticed the sudden shift in Maxwell’s demeanor but chose not to press further. “Well, it looks like you’ve got everything set up nicely. If you ever need someone to test out new games or just talk about them, I’m always around.”

Maxwell managed a smile. “Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind.”

With a final wave, Lena headed back to her own apartment, her mind buzzing with thoughts. She had seen a glimpse of Maxwell’s gaming world, but the encounter left her with more questions than answers. The connection between her new neighbor and her favorite streamer seemed undeniable, but she couldn’t yet piece together how they fit together. As she settled into her evening, she couldn’t help but wonder if this mysterious neighbor had more surprises in store.
