Daucy | Not your secret to tell
"Can't we just, you know, stay here and watch movies or play with your ps4?"
"Nope." Damien smirked as he looked at his handsome reflection in the mirror, slicking back his dark hair until he was satisfied with it. "I can't miss this party, Lucy. I'm practically throwing it."
"You should follow your father's example and never attend those stupid parties." Lucy said with a deep and resigned sigh as she stared down at her own attire. She knew her signature jeans and purple Converse, along with the Radiohead t-shirt she wore weren't suitable for the pretentious party she was supposed to attend that night. She couldn't care less though, she was doing this for him. Damien had begged her all week and finally convinced her.
"You look pretty, Loony. It's not like we're attending a royal ball, anyway." Damien snapped her out of her thoughts as he wrapped a brand new purple leather jacket around her shoulders, a jacket they saw at the mall that had left Lucy drooling for it.
"Damien, stop wasting your money on me. I was gonna ask dad to buy me this jacket."
He couldn't hide his annoyance whenever Lucy mentioned her beloved father. If he was grinning, the smile dropped instantly, his usual high spirit would fly out the window and leave a gloomy Damien behind. It was like an unspoken constant competition between the green haired man and the young millionaire. A competition to win Lucy Napier's attention and love.
"Can you give me this teeny tiny satisfaction, Lucy? Just this once?" Damien pouted as he pressed his hands together, giving his girl big puppy eyes. "Besides, you're my girlfriend. I'm supposed to spoil you with gifts and pretty things."
Lucy rolled her eyes and put the jacket on with a smirk, twirling around mockingly earning a loud cackle from the boy before her.
"Let's go, before I change my mind." She said, grabbing his hand and leading him towards the door.
And maybe, Lucy should've changed her mind.
There she was, standing awkwardly and sipping silently from a straw, watching Damien socialize with ease. He was nothing like her; as expected, Lucy couldn't be more like her father. People freaked her out and it wasn't something to be surprised of. For some unknown reason, she had always been home schooled by her mother, overprotected by her father, hidden from almost every single person. Fifteen years living in her safe happy bubble that involved no one but her parents, her uncles and her boyfriend.
A bubble that was bursted until that night.
Fortunately, the party took place at the Wayne's garden, but even though she had tried to run away from it, the poor girl kept being caught by a cunning Damien. Girls kept watching her from head to toe, obnoxious girls that wore short skirts and heels and eyed Damien like an expensive purse standing behind the storefront.
Lucy couldn't blame them, though it infuriated her. He was gorgeous, worthy Bruce Wayne's son, but even more charming. His green eyes were so captivating that she caught more than one girl getting lost in them. But one annoyed her more than the rest of giggly hyenas.
"And who's this, D?" A blonde girl asked Damien, a smug smile spread across her lips as she watched a younger Lucy being eaten by the rest of the snutty gang.
"Lucy Napier." Damien said proudly, wrapping his arm around Lucy's waist, making her blush furiously, "She's my lifetime bestfriend and my girlfriend."
The blonde gave her a fake small smile and nodded, ignoring Damien's signs of affection and brushed her fingers up his arm until her hand rested on his shoulder. To this, Lucy wasn't aware of her own movements when she found herself pushing the prying girl away from Damien, spilling her whole drink over the blonde's expensive pink dress.
"What the hell is wrong with you, freak?!"
"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you!" Lucy screamed, squirming away from Damien's tight embrace, his arms trying to keep her way from the girl, "You've been flirting with him all night, even when he told you who I am!"
"Lucy, it's ok." Damien whispered against her ear.
"No, it's not ok!" Lucy managed to push him away and ran inside the house, ignoring the stares and quiet talking from the guests.

When Damien entered his room, he found Lucy texting furiously on her phone, angry tears running down her cheeks. He approached her carefully but she swiftly avoided the confused boy and sat on the bed, slipping her mobile inside her jeans.
"Lucy, what are you doing?"
"I just texted dad and he's on his way to pick me up so you can continue enjoying your awesome party." She mumbled as she removed her new jacket and handed it to him.
"Lucy, don't do this."
"Take this! I don't want it!" She shouted, throwing the purple jacket at his feet, an action that made Damien's insides burn to ashes, his usual calm and sweet self disappearing.
"What the fuck is wrong with you, Lucy?! I didn't do anything wrong!" He said, his tone getting higher and higher, "You didn't even try to socialize! I did my best for you to get involved! Help you connect with other people."
"Oh, I'm sorry for being a homeschooled freak. You, popular rich boy! I'm sorry for being Damien Wayne's weird girlfriend everybody's going to talk about from now on. I don't belong! I'm not like them! I'm not like you!"
Damien's eyes were flooded with unshed tears. His mind got foggy when the next words spilled from his mouth, words he would regret saying.
"It's not my fault your father used to be a fucking psychopath that haunted the city for years! It's not my fault that he's the reason you're not able to have a normal life, Lucy!"
Her face went slack and pale, her big ice blue eyes got even wider. But what was worst, her heart broke at his revelation.
"What did you just say about my father?" She asked, her voice breaking. "Why are you saying these things?"
"Because that's the whole truth, Lucy."
She stood up, approached him, and without a warning, slapped the boy as hard as she possibly could. But he didn't flinch, nor move. Damien just had the terrible feeling he had lost his Lucy forever.
"That wasn't your secret to tell."
To be continued...

Ok, guys. I know this is short but a second part is coming.
I had been thinking about this for a long time. I know it is almost impossible but Harley and J kept the whole psycho killers deal from Lucy and well, Damien just fucked everything. 🤦🏻♀️ Next chapter is about J finally explaining everything to her.
I'm sorry I've been so absent lately and that my writing wasn't the best on this chapter. I've been busy and things in my country were crazy last month. There was a big earthquake here in Mexico. I'm fine but the experience affected all of us. Things are beginning to go back to normal. However my life is crazy rn and it is about to get even crazier. I'm getting a new surgery soon so please have me on your prayers.
Hope you liked this tiny chapter and believe me I'll try to update ASAP. Thanks for keeping up with these books. Thanks for reading me and supporting me!
