Světluška
The moon has surrendered to dark clouds
And the wind has gone silent, still.
There is nothing around you but shadows
And you have no company but the winding road, lonely, cracked.
A flicker, a spark—
You look up and it's gone.
The rough cobblestone wears at your shoes;
The cold of the pavement seeps into your bones
And the shadows seem darker than ever.
But there once more, one light in an ebon sky
And your feet leave the path for the wild lands beyond.
But you follow that lone spark;
Your mind longs for the surety of the path,
Even as your feet continue forward
To a destination unknown and unknowable.
Find me, it cries, and something in you cries out too—
Something in you breaks,
Because you've found it.
Your lone spark, no longer the only one
As you gaze upon a field filled with lights.
