Self-Righteous
My irritation with the people who consider themselves the defenders of what is right in the world, yet know nothing about the situation and only contribute rude, cutting comments on their social media.
Rage against the system;
No gods, no masters.
There's you in your infinite wisdom,
The face of the future, staring down from your throne.
The apogee of the human race—
Little rebel.
Your fist high in the air as if you have the power here,
Your voice raised as if you think someone will listen.
Blind rage at whatever's trending,
Indignity at the injustice of the day,
All forgotten by sunrise for the next topic—
And yet you expect people to take you seriously.
If you want to take a stand, take one.
If you want to make a change, make one.
You should know that you look the fool with your faux outrage,
Especially when you can't bother to truly inform yourself.
