Creatures typically born out of or near water. They have two forms and can be switched between as long as the mermaid is in water. Their common forms reflect humans and their supernatural form reflect human sirens and fish of olden days.
Known for their beauty and grace, many mermaids were sold into slavery in the olden days. Not many true mermaids are left and most come from noble or well off families.

Human

Humans are the most populous species in Elorewyth, though not the most powerful by any means. They have no magical connections and are considered the base, or oldest, species in Elorewyth.
They were rarely desired by slavers in the olden days, though the ones that were slaves were worked hard and treated poorly. Many other species, if they have two or more forms, base their common form on humans.
