10- Dear Agony Aunt
Dear agony aunt
I've liked my best friend since we were in the 4th grade and he still doesn't know. I don't want to ruin our friendship by telling him,
What do I do????????????
From: Bestfriend101
Watching the screen with pursed lips, I found myself starting my reply and back spacing it about 10 times or so.
Grabbing the top of my head, I bit down on lip before putting my fingers to the keyboard.
Dear Bestfriend101
I even struggled answering this and I'm meant to be the guru in this situation. If I were you, I would go ahead and tell them my feelings, it would be a huge weight off of your chest, no one should carry around something like that with them.
Yes he may freak out, but if you 2 are the best of friends as you make out to be, then he'll get over it or even better, he could feel the same way.
Good luck .

I had been answering people's problems for the past hour, and was growing slightly tired of it all. How was it that i could solve other people's problems, yet I didnt have a clue on what to do with my own. Standing up from my chair, I stretched my arms before turning the music I had on louder.
I was the only one home as everyone had something way more important to do apparently.
Sauntering over to my closet, I pulled out a white tee and grey joggers. I needed to get out of these clothes..
Dancing along to the Arctic monkeys, I sang along to every word as I stripped out of my skirt.
"I bet that you look good on the dance floor!" I croaked as I fell onto the floor while trying to get into my joggers.
Laughing to myself, a second laugh had joined mine after a few seconds. Slowly peeping my head up and out of the window, I saw Tate sitting outside his window looking at me with pure amusement, as he held a cigarette between his thumb and index finger.
"Nice singing Kitten" clenching my fists, I poked my head out of my window and pointed a finger in his direction.
"I said, don't call me that!" I didn't even really have to shout. It was annoyingly strange that our houses were so freaking close.
Flicking his cigarette in my direction, I watched it fall down onto my window pane and looked up to him gazing up at the sky.
"Why'd you run off earlier?" After a second or two, he looked down at me with his eyebrows knitted together.
Brushing the cigarette off of my window pane, I pursed my lips and gazed at his pale face.
What was I suppose to say? I was jealous of a girl I had never met?
"I didn't feel well" I lied. Nodding his head slowly, he stood up from where he had been sitting, and leaped towards me. Placing one foot in my room and the other hung lazily out of the window.
"We should do our project about the sky. I mean don't you think its amazing, and the stars aswell. .... cause you you know they'll definitely be there tomorrow.. No matter what, above and beyond right?" Glancing back at me with a childlike smile, my heart began to race as his arm brushed over mine momentarily.
Shit, the project.
"Tate, I asked Mrs Ryans if we could do separate projects and she said yes....it's what you wanted right?" Leaning his head on my wall, he peered over at me before nodding his head.
"Are you drunk?" Smelling the hint of alcohol that brushed over him, he chuckled before falling into my room with a thud. Trying to help him to his feet, he grabbed onto my desk making the photo's I had just developed fall onto the floor.
"Maybe a little?" He slightly slurred while pinching his thumb and index finger together.
Dropping to his knees, he tried to collect the photo's but seemed to struggle with that simple task. Groaning, i began to round the photo's up and smiled as Tate seemed to find the ones of me, my friends and family pulling strange faces.
Sitting pretzel style, I leaned over him and started to point out where different photos had been taken.
"Charlie and I had been bored last summer and had decided to dye our hair for a new look...it ended up green as you can see" laughing, his smile dropped as he saw the next picture of me and Kit staring at the camera with my hair as both of our moustaches.
Quickly putting the photo to the back, he groaned as the next picture was of kit giving me a piggy back, and I clinging on for dear life.
Laughing, I remembered how he had complained about me damaging his back, and pretending I had broke it for the rest of the day.
Looking at Tate, he was already burning a hole through the side of my head.
Loosening my hair out, I ran a hand through it and continued to stare back at him.
"Why didn't you tell me you had a girlfriend Tate?" Neatly patting the pictures together, he had already swung one leg out of the window by the time I grabbed his wrist.
"I didn't think it was relevant Carmela....." Piercing me with his eyes, he looked out of my window and up at the night sky.
"Tate...of course it was relevant, we kissed?" Feeling his gaze on me, I dropped my head so my hair would hang messily infront of my flushed face.
"It was a kiss Carmela, I didn't want it to mean anything, just a heat in the moment thing" my flushed cheeks began to pale. I could feel the anger within me start to boil.
"Tate, but- but I like you. I honestly dont know why, but I do" looking up, I found him already on his side of his window looking at me with disappointment.
"Well stop." shutting down his window harshly, I jumped back in shock. Not having enough energy to throw something across the room, I settled for slumping onto my bed.
What did I just say?
----------------
It was lunch time and there was still no sight of Jensen, Jared or Tate. The girls had questioned why, but I acted as clueless as them. Grabbing a carton of orange juice, I stopped midway out of the food line as I saw Tate and a girl I had never seen before, locklips at the front of the hall.
Trying to focus on her face, I scanned her up and down. My description was almost correct.
Tall, caramel blonde hair, light olive skin, probably mixed with somewhere exotic . Her eyes were freaking beautiful, I only say this because I could see them from where I was standing. She wore a pair of black rolled up jeans with a burgundy crop jumper. Tilting my head I felt that pang of jealousy once again hit me....she was beautiful, of course I didn't have a chance.
who was I kidding?
And why does this bother me?! He's a dick, a complete and utter dick.
Shrugging my shoulders, I dragged myself to the table of oogling girls I called friends.
"Carms, have you seen the girl draped over Capetti?" Andie spoke while shoving some chips into her mouth.
"Yes" I answered bluntly.
"Does anyone know her name?" Charlie chirped while texting away on her phone.
"Honey" I mumbled while trying to stick my straw into the carton of orange juice.
"Sweet" Megan answered nonchalantly.
Yeah, sweet as shit.
Feeling the gust of wind being knocked out of me by Charlie's hand, I took my fist and punched her on her arm hard enough to make her squeal. Rubbing at her arm for a second, she motioned for me to look to my side.
Slowly gazing over, there stood 'Honey' and Tate peering down at me.
All the girls chirped a happy 'hi' while I continued to jab my carton of juice with my straw.
"Names honey, Honey Sweet" slamming my straw down, I looked up at her skeptically and then rolled my eyes to continue with my juice.
"Really, that's so cool" Charlie almost sang. Leaning over me, she had shaken Honeys hand before taking my juice, and piercing the hole for me.
"So you're Kitten?" Edging away from her perfect smile, I nodded my head while knitting my hands in my curly mane of hair. Sitting next to her, I looked like a homeless person.
A Ramones vest tee, green shorts and combat boots....oh I so looked like trash compared to her.
"My name is not kitten, it's Carmela" as she quickly glanced at Tate, I saw how her jaw was clenched, and that perfect smile of hers was beginning to crack.
"I just thought-"
"Well don't" I simply said before crossing a leg over the other. The girls began to look between Honey and I with either worry or confusion. Charlie mirrored both.
I could practically feel Tate's stare on me, they hadn't moved since he got here. Did I really embarrass myself that much?
"It was nice meeting you" her fake voice said way to happily, no one was ever that freaking happy. A doughnut addict with a life supply of doughnuts wasn'te even that happy.
Walking away from our table, I turned around just in time to catch the death glare honey had sent me.
Eugh, I just had to make it to the end of this week before we had 3 weeks off, 3 weeks of just me time.
"She seemed nice" Meghan slightly laughed as I scrunched up my face at her comment.
We had spent the entire lunch talking about pointless crap, but it was nice crap.
The week had gone by with a blink of an eye. I had never felt so happy to be away from everyone, this was my time to hibernate. I knew for a fact that Tate wouldn't be home as the Capetti's were going to Barbados for the 3 weeks. So no confusing life for 3 whole freaking weeks.
Skipping in my garden, I decided to walk home earlier and take the long way home. The smell of the lavender laced the air aswell as a hint of summery cinnamon. Looking towards the Capetti household, I saw how their car had gone and their house looked vacant.
Unlocking the door, I furrowed my eyebrows as I saw a suitcase by the staircase.
Were we going on a surprise holiday? My mom was a very spontaneous person, what if she had booked us tickets to go to Hawaii or India, or even Mexico?
"I'm home shitheads" I sang at the top of my lungs. Rushing into the kitchen, I froze as I saw Tate leaning on my counter top conversing with Pheonix.
Please just tell me he came round for as cup of sugar.
"Oh yeah, moms gone to work but she told me to tell you to go and make up the bed in the guest room" Pheonix muttered while looking down at his phone.
"Why would we need the guest room...." My question was directed to Pheonix but my eyes were still glued to the side of Tate's face.
I noticed how pale he looked today, how the only colour in his face was the tinge of pink in his defined cheeks. He hadn't turned around to face me, he was acting as if I was invisible.
"Smart ass over here" Phoenix slung his arm over Tate's shoulder, he smiled sarcastically as he span him around to finally face me.
"Got himself kicked off the annual Capetti Holiday" Phoenix's laugh echoed through out the hollow room.
My breath hitched in my throat as soon as I had saw Tate's face. Stupid I know, but there was just something about him that made me feel different.
Closing my eyes for a second or 2, I recollected myself and told Tate to follow me.
Walking past the suitcase in the hallway, I frowned knowing that there was in fact no surprise holiday for me.
"Great, no fun in the sun for me" I grumbled while trudging up the stairs. I stopped to see if Tate had still been following me. Spinning on my heels, I had nearly tripped on noticing the proximity of Tate.
Grabbing me by my wrist, he held on tight so I didn't fall down a step.
"W-why are you so close" ripping my hand out of his grip, he rolled his eyes and took a step back.
"Thanks for saving my life Tate" he said in an overly high pitched voice.
Rolling my eyes, I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and carried on walking to the guest room, or what I would call 'my second room'. It was directly next to mine, it used to be Phoenix's room, but it began to get awkward when he would bring a girl home and I could hear everything, and I do mean everything.
The wall was literally so thin, I could probably poke a hole through if with a pencil if I tried.
Entering the room, the scent of cinnamon filled my nostrils with delight.
Turning around I found Tate almost gagging while pinching his nose shut.
"Did something die in here...or someone?" He spoke in a nasally voice.
Furrowing my eyebrows, I noticed he was talking about the scented candle I had bought to freshen up the room.
"Yup, the last guy that stayed in here mysteriously got murdered in his sleep. Actually he looked a lot like you" I whispered while pretending to examine his face.
Mock laughing, he pulled my hand away from his face and started to look around the room, like someone looking in the house they were considering to buy.
I felt kind of awkward just standing there, I hadn't talked to him properly since he stumbled in my room drunk.
"So why didn't you go to Barbados" I finally broke. Crashing down on the bed, he half laughed half sighed.
"You really wanna know?" Hopping up on the desk, I crossed my legs and leaned forward.
"It's what I asked isnt it?" Bringing all of my hair onto my left shoulder, I watched as he bored his eyes into mine, I noticed how he would bite down on his lip when he was trying to think of something.
Smiling to myself, he let go of his lip and stared at me with his lips pursed and his head tilted.
"My mom caught me and honey having sex in her bed" the warming smile on my face had vanished and been exchanged for a blank one.
"That's it?" I tried to sound as convincing as possible, I'd give me a pat on the back right now if that wouldn't make me look so strange.
"We may had been filming it aswell...I didnt even know, I swear" throwing a pillow at his face, he muffled a laugh before laying back on the bed face first.
He started to muffle something, but it sounded like he was speaking the language of nonsense to me.
"You do know I can't understand you right?" Running a hand through my hair, I tried to contain the curly main.
"I said this pillow smells like you" it smelled like me? He knew what I smelt like? I know I was meant to be kind of creeped out, but I just once again felt lost for words.
Carmela, he obviously doesn't like you, he has a girlfriend, and he just told you they were having sex... Stop being so stupid.
My conscious screamed at me as I stared at the back of the brown mop of hair. Getting to my feet, I almost ran to the door before his voice stopped me.
"Where you goin' kitten" balling my hands into fists, I turned to see a slight smirk on his face.
"Don't tell me you're mad because I told you what Honey and I did... I did ask are you sure you wanna know" getting to his feet, I stopped him from getting to close by sticking my arm out.
"I'm not mad, why would I even care what you and that girl do....doesn't bother me the slightest" I lied through my teeth. His hand slightly brushed over my wrist but I made no move to remove it.
Squaring him in the eyes, I knew he knew he thought he knew what he was doing. He was just trying to get a reaction from me, he knew I liked him so he thought he would play with me with every chance he could get.
"You sure about that? Because I remember a little kitten confessing her love for me" brushing my cheek with his thumb, I pushed down the raging blush that was trying to force its way to my face.
He seemed disappointed that I hadn't squealed or even try to swat his hand away, I just stood there, I stood my ground.
"I don't love you Tate, I said I liked you.....now I don't even think I can stand being in the same room as you. You stay out of my way and vice versa" dropping his hand, he stumbled a few steps back and dropped his gaze to the floor.
Turning around, I stormed out of the room with my hands still balled into fists.
I guess my 3 weeks of relaxation would be on hold.
