*Shadow's POV*
"What happened?" I asked Rouge after I walked away from where I had seen Faker.

"With Blue? He got into a fight with his brother outside." She explained to me. "You saw him go into the office, didn't you? What are you doing so close to him anyway?" She rested her hand on my shoulder. "I thought you weren't allowed to be nearby."

"Vanilla doesn't want me to be close to him, but I have to keep an eye on him. The way he was looking at Faker when he opened the door, he's planning something. I know it."

"Shadow. Don't you think it is time for you to move on? It's been years since she -" I glared at her and walked away. "Okay. Okay. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up. I'm just worried about you."

The bell rang before I could say anything, so we walked to the classroom. Mid roll call, Faker walked in looking rather quiet and down. He sat down and didn't say a word. When Vanilla called his name, he simply raised his hand, which was odd for him. When the bell rang again, I decided to follow him and pull him to the side.

"Hey." He gasped when I grabbed his wrist and pulled him to a different hallway. "Shadow?" He raised a brow.

"What did he say to you?" I went straight to the point.

"Who?" He asked, confused. "The principal? Nothing. He just scolded me because of the fight."

"Is that all?" I crossed my arms, wanting for him to hurry it up before the bell rang again. He nodded.

"Yeah, but. I don't know. There was something off. He was going through my file and asking me weird questions." He messed with the straps of his backpack.

"What was he asking you? Make it quick, hedgehog." I growled lowly.

"Uh. Well. He was asking how fast I could go. How I got my speed." He shook his head. "He was more focused on my speed and energy than the fight." I nodded.

"Stay away from him." I said and walked off.

"Wait. What?" He followed right behind me.

"Try not to get in trouble. Stay away from Eggman." I repeated then walked inside the classroom.

"But -" I sat down on my seat, and the bell rang, so he shut up and sat down. I noticed he kept glancing back at me every once in a while during class and even looked rather distracted. I didn't have time to worry about him. Nor did I even want to. 

*Sonic's POV*
"Have you bumped into Manic yet?" I asked Sonia as we sat down to eat, waiting for the rest of the group to sit down as well.

"No. I think he went home or is skipping school again with his new boyfriend." She answered back as she peeled an orange.

"Yeah. I haven't found him since this morning. And Scourg has been absent from all his classes as well." I looked up at seeing Silver walking towards us side by side with Mephiles and Lucy. I hadn't talked to him yet because he looked even meaner than Shadow, but seeing Lucy beside him and Silver made him look less intimidating.

"Scourge skipping classes isn't something new." Spike said as he walked towards us, making Lucy lower her ears and walk further away from where Spike stood.

"Yeah. What's surprising is how he even managed to not flunk a grade." Knuckles said as he sat down.

"Yeah, same goes for Manic. Sorry, Silver." I apologized, knowing this was going to bring more problems to him than me or Sonia. Especially if he was now dating Scourge.

"Lucy. Hi. You're going to sit with us?" Spike turned to look at Lucy, noticing she had moved.

"U-Uh. No! I don't want to sit with you. I mean- I want to sit with you because I like you. As a friend, that is! Not like like. Augh!" Lucy left running soon after leaving all of us confused.

"She likes you." Sonia said quickly, making all of us look at her.

"What? No, she doesn't." Spike chuckled. "Does she?" He stopped and looked in direction where Lucy had left running. Sonia nodded in response. "Really?"

"She's all nervous around you. How else would you explain?" She sighed.

"I just thought she was always like that." Spike shrugged, still looking away and slowly and hesitantly getting up then sitting back down.

"Boys are so clueless, Hun." Rouge said as she sat down.

"Some girls are too." Blaze said as she sat beside Amy.

"Wait. She really likes me? And no one told me before?" Spike glared at his friends.

"What? I thought you just didn't like her." Mighty responded. "Are you going to go after her or not?"

Spike remained quiet for a few seconds, hesitating, but in the end, he pushed his tray forward, giving us his food. Then he stood up and left running after Lucy.

"Have you guys had science yet? We were assigned a project." Amy said as she leaned on Blaze, resting her head on her shoulder and sharing their food with each other. They were cute together. I'm glad it wasn't me stuck in a relationship with Amy. There was nothing bad with her, but I needed a break from relationships.

"Not yet. I have it next class, with Shadow, actually." I pointed out, Shadow had been quiet and not even bothering to look up from his food as he ate. He never did, actually. He always ate in silence.

"It's a group project. Maybe you two will get stuck together." Amy giggled at the idea.

"You think so?" I asked as I glanced at Shadow, who simply rolled his eyes. "To my luck, I would get stuck with Shadow."

"Excuse me? I'd be the one stuck with you, not the other way around, hedgehog." Shadow finally spoke, taking the others off guard. There's something about me that just gets him completely irritated. It was fun.
