I decided I am not changing the ending. I am going to keep it. See what you guys think of it and then decide if I should change it or not later. Been too busy to get to rereading it so yeah. Plus the editing and having to reread the WHOLE story so I can edit the ending is a pain 😅

*Sonic's POV*
"Uhm. What's going on here?" Manic asked as I walked to our usual table, walking hand in hand with Shadow. He kept his usual serious face as he made sure he didn't drop the plate. He looked at my brother and then sat down, letting go of my hand so he could eat.

I sat down beside Shadow, and I smiled at Manic. But just before I could even say anything, the rest of our friends crowded our table. Shadow had started eating already and didn't even bother to look up at the others, but I did.

"What is this we are hearing? Are you and Shadow dating?" Amy asked.

"Some students are saying you they saw you two holding hands and walking to class together." Mighty said. I was about to say something when I got interrupted yet again.

"What? Sonic and Shadow dating? That's ridiculous!" Manic laughed, then he looked at me, and his ears perked up. "Holy shit. Really?"

"It's true. They are dating." Rouge said as she sat down in front of Shadow.

"What? I didn't even know Shadow knew how to even be in a relationship." Blaze said.

"Yeah, well, we didn't know Mephiles could either. And have you seen him with Silver? I found them making out under the bleachers yesterday before homeroom." Spike said.

"Hey!" Silver defended and blushed.

"When did this happen?" Sonia asked me.

"Yesterday." I was finally able to talk. "After Shadow went to pick me up."

I spent lunch trying to explain to our friends that we were, in fact, dating. Shadow didn't say a single word, but he also didn't leave after eating like he usually did, he stayed beside me, holding my hand under the table, which Rouge pointed out and caused Shadow to get mad. When lunch was over, Shadow walked me to my class.

*Shadow's POV*
"Okay, boys, we need to figure out what Eggman did and if there is a way to recover Sonics speed. Are you okay, Blue? You don't look so well." I turned to look at Sonic. I was sitting beside him, everyone else had left home already, and we were currently at the park to talk about what had happened.

Sonics eyes began to close, he was trying to stay awake and suddenly, his hand let go of mine. He looked so weak, he looked drained, like if he had used all of his energy somehow. I panicked and quickly stood up when I saw Sonic falling back from his seat, I caught him before he could reach the floor.

"Sonic!" I shouted and knelt down beside him. "What's going on?" I tried to get him to sit up, but he suddenly started shouting in pain, and then he passed out. "I need to take him to the hospital." I picked him up, but Rouge grabbed my arm.

"Don't." She took out her phone, and I started to get angry.

"He's hurt! He needs medical attention!" I growled and moved away from her, but she blocked my way.

"We both know it was Eggman who did this to him. I don't know how, I don't know when. But if you take him to the hospital, then we won't be able to talk to Sonic about what happened that day." She dialed someone number. "Tails! Tails, I need you to meet me at my house NOW. Sonic needs medical attention. Do not tell anyone about this. We will explain when you get here."

"What the hell are you doing, Bat?" I was still furious. I knew she was right, but why was she calling the fox? He was just a kid.

"Tails may be a kid, but I saw him do a full check up on Sonic the other day. He can help. That kid knows what he's doing, and he can let us know what may be wrong with him." I looked down at Sonic, who was in my arms, and slowly nodded.

"Fine." I sighed, and chaos controlled us to Rouges house. It didn't take long for the fox to finally arrive. We took him to the guest room where we had laid down Sonic.

"What happened?" He quickly asked as he ran to Sonics' side and started giving him a check-up.

Rouge started explaining some stuff, not going into full detail since she knew I didn't like anyone knowing about what had happened. When she was done, the room fell silent. We let him do what he needed to do.

"Well?" I asked when he finished. 

"He's going to be okay. As far as I can tell, he just used too much energy. His body is tired, and didn't take it well that Sonic crossed his limits." The fox explained. I clenched my fists.

"But he -" Rouge started but got interrupted.

"I know. He couldn't have possibly used his energy. He can't run anymore. And then you said he started screaming." Tails paced around trying to think of something. "You said Eggman is involved, wanting to use his energy. If I were Eggman, I would have implanted something on Sonic. Drain him of his energy little by little so no one knew what was going on."

"The day Sonic went to his office. Rouge found him passed out. I never thought about it again, but Eggman never tried to call him back in." I said to the fox.

"Did Sonic say anything about what happened to him on Sunday when he disappeared?" He asked, and we shook our heads.

"That's what we were at the park to talk about. He said he knew it was Eggman behind this but didn't tell us how he knew." Rouge spoke.

"Sally told me." We all instantly looked at Sonic, who was slowly waking up. "She said there was a man following me, and before I passed out, she said she saw him pointing a kind of remote at me. That's when she saw him getting even closer after I passed out, so she ran to me before he could get there."

I walked closer to him and sat down beside him, helping him sit up properly when I saw him trying to do it on his own.

"He did something to you the day you were at his office then. I'm going to need you to come to my place. I can do a scan with my equipment." The fox said, and Sonic nodded.
