*Amy's POV*
"Why are you wearing a jacket?" Blaze asked as she walked towards me when she arrived. "I've seen you in a swimsuit before."

"I know! It's just... a bit embarrassing now. I am suddenly very self-conscious." I lowered my ears. She walked to me and held my hands.

"But you're beautiful." She smiled at me, causing me to instantly blush.

"You're being too gay." Scourge said as he put on some sunglasses and laid down on a lounge chair, crossing his legs and putting his arms behind his head. He wore a button-up beach shirt which was opened, exposing his chest and some short beach shorts.

"Have you looked at yourself?" Blaze rolled her eyes as she said that to Scourge. "Go bother your boyfriend. He's already here."

"He is?" He sat up instantly and looked in direction where Manic was at. He stood up and quickly walked to him.

"Hey guys!" I turned to see Lucy walking towards us. She was waving at us with one hand while she held Spikes hand with the other. She wore an oversized shirt, reaching up to where her tail started. 

"Whats with the outfit? I thought you said you'd had a swimsuit?" I asked.

"I do. It's underneath it, but... Spike said for me to wear this on top." She smiled, Spike remained quiet and looked away when Blaze and I looked at him confused.

"Too much for you to handle, huh?" Blaze asked mockingly.

"Shut up." Spike let go of Lucy and walked away.

"He was blushing so much when he picked me up from my house today. He couldn't even look at me." Lucy whispered to us. We both laughed and shook our heads.

Just before I could say anything else, Blaze unzipped my jacket and took a look at what I was wearing. I gasped and blushed, then zipped it back up.

"Come on, baby. You look stunning." She kissed my forehead.

"You really think so?" I asked nervously, and she nodded. "O-Okay." I smiled and took off the jacket, placing it on the table.

"Let's get in the water, shall we?" Blaze asked, and I quickly agreed, Lucy and Sonia following us in. Mephiles was already in the water with Silver as they tossed a beach ball to each other, playing with who I assumed was Tails' girlfriend and Tails.

*Shadow's POV*
"Let's get in the water." Scourge was bothering Manic as we all walked to a cliff. I could see Cream better from up here, which was why I kept walking. 

"You're still wearing her bracelet?" I asked Faker when I glanced down and looked at his hand. We were walking behind Manic, Rouge, and Scourge.

"Yeah. I told her I would keep it on forever." He smiled at me, and he fixed the bracelet so his name was centered to his wrist.

"We can jump from here." Scourge said to Manic.

"I don't think it's such a good idea. Too high, you could get injured." Rouge said as she flew high to see how far high we were.

"You can take it off, you know?" I was trying to ignore them since I was just trying to have a quiet day if I was forced to be here.

"Nah. I like it. It's special to me." His words caught me off guard. He barely knew Cream. He barely knew me, and yet he was always being nice to us.

"I am not jumping!" Manic shouted. Both Faker and I looked up to see what was happening. "Let go!" Manic laughed as Scourge grabbed his hands while laughing and tried to get him closer to the edge of the cliff.

"Hey. Be careful!" Faker shouted at them, taking a step closer to them.

Just then, Rouge landed beside me, and Manic finally slipped off from Scourges hold, causing Scourge to bump into Faker and pushing him off the cliff. Faker gasped, and he quickly tried to hold onto something so he wouldn't fall, but there was nothing. He shouted in pure terror as he fell down and hit the water.

"SONIC!" I shouted, we all ran to the edge and looked down.

"He doesn't know how to swim!" Manic shouted concerned. Sonia shouted, scared for her brother, from where she was swimming away from the cliff.

I took no time and quickly jumped off, diving in to help. He was not coming up to the surface, which was causing me to panic even more. I tried to remain calm, but the image of Sonic drowning kept popping in my head.

"Shadow!" Rouge shouted, but soon enough, I made contact with the water. This part was deep, and I couldn't find Sonic anywhere. I looked down when I felt a bubble hit my face and saw as Sonic kept sinking.

I quickly dove down and swam as fast as I could to reach him. I grabbed him by the waist when I finally caught up to him and started swimming up. I focused on taking him to the surface first. Once out of the water, I gasped for air and quickly placed him in the ground, away from the water. I placed  my ear up to his chest and sighed in relief when I heard his heart.

He sat up in a rush and started coughing out water. He held his hands up to his chest, and then he looked at me and quickly hugged me. I tensed up and hesitated but patted his back.

"Thank you, Shadow."

Somehow, when I heard him finally talk, I let out a deep breath. My heart stopped beating so rapidly, and the knot in my throat was gone.

He was okay...

I saved him.

Also, guys, "Through The Darkness" Chapter 1 was published yesterday. The rest of the chapters I still don't know when I will post since I barely have Chapter 2 done and have very little time to write nowadays.
But seriously, when a book starts the way that one starts, it's a red flag. A very red flag.

I read a comment of someone saying they trust me. I laughed. Don't trust me. I hold too much power and I like to mess around 😂
