*Sonic's POV*
"Ma! Where are my shoes?" Manic shouted from upstairs in his room, I was currently sitting down beside Sonia at the table, already eating breakfast.
"Sonic, where did you put your brothers box of shoes?" My mother pointed at me with the spatula as she made pancakes. The house was still full of boxes that needed to be unpacked.
In hindsight, maybe it would have been best not to move homes the day before classes started. It didn't even give us time to unpack since we had to go buy school supplies. We didn't even know the town and ended up getting lost, so it took us longer than it should have. I was surprised I found my clothes.
"Umm." I hummed as I took a bite of the pancakes. "Outside my room!" I shouted with my mouth full, causing Sonia to roll her eyes at me and shove a napkin at my face.
"Gross. Cover your mouth. Will yah?" She stood up since she was done and walked to our mother and kissed her muzzle. "Thanks for breakfast ma, it was delicious."
"It is!" I chuckled as I grabbed the napkin and cleaned my mouth. "Manic! Hurry up, we are always waiting for you!"
Manic came running down the stairs while putting on his shoes as his backpack dragged down the stairs. He nearly fell when he was downstairs but did a quick save by holding onto the table and reaching for a pancake, then shoving it in his mouth.
"What are you talking about? I'm the one waiting for you." He shrugged and waved at our mother as the three of us walked out of the house.
"Good luck on your first day!" Aleena, our mother, shouted from the kitchen.
"You too!" We shouted back in sync. She was a principal at the elementary school 10 minutes away from where we now lived.
We had moved to this city to be closer to Uncle Chuck. He had his own electronic repair shop in the city called "Chuck's Custom Tech and Repairs." We still hadn't had the time to go visit him, but he was already aware we were in the city, and we're supposed to have dinner together today after we got out of school.
"It's strange, what if we don't fit in?" Sonia asked nervously as she walked between Manic and I while holding a small compact mirror to her face, checking her makeup.
"Are you kidding? Of course we will." I chuckled softly, resting my hands behind my head as we walked. We lived two blocks away from the school, so it wouldn't take long before we got there.
"Speak for yourself, I am trying to lay low. Don't need these teachers to learn my name so soon." Manic laughed as he twirled his drumsticks.
"What so you can skip classes again? How are you not a grade behind?" Sonia closed the compact mirror and glared at Manic.
"Easy. I copy your homework." Manic shrugged with a grin. He quickly dodged a punch coming from Sonia as I laughed at the two of them.
"Guys. Guys. Relax. We are here." I moved between the two of them and wrapped my arms around them as I pushed them to move forward. "Where do we need to go again, Sis?"
She sighed and pushed away from Manic and I, putting her mirror in her backpack and then taking out her phone as we finally entered school grounds. There were tons of students outside, in groups, some giving us a look. Everyone in our grade came from the same school, so it didn't really come to a shock that we were getting those looks.
"Let's see. The text Ma sent me says we need to go to the counselors office so we can know what class we are going to be in for homeroom." She put her phone in her pocket and looked around while we made our way inside the building.
The hallways were full, the signs on the doors being blocked, so we didn't know where to even go. Sonia was quietly panicking at the number of people who turned to look our way. Ms. Perfect had panic attacks a lot, thinking there was something wrong with her outfit or her makeup.
"Excuse me." I decided to ask for help knowing anyone else knew this school better than us. I tapped the shoulder of a twin tailed fox, but when he turned to look at us, I noticed he looked way younger than us. "Hey, do you know where the schools counselors office is at? We are new here." I offered him a smile.
"Oh, sure." He smiled back and was about to point when he noticed the number of people in the hallways. "Erm. Why dont I take you? This way." He motioned for us to follow as he walked ahead of us.
Manic and Sonia both looked at me and then nodded as we walked right behind the fox. "So." I broke the silence, speaking a bit louder so he could hear me over all the other students. "Whats your name? My name's Sonic. These are my siblings, Sonia and Manic."
"Name's Miles." He glanced back at us and waved. "But everyone calls me Tails."
"Aren't you a little young to be in high school?" Manic asked what I couldn't bring myself to.
"Yes. I am. I skipped a couple of grades." He explained and stopped once we were in front of a big brown door. "This is the counse-"
"Ah!" We all tensed up when we heard shouting and saw as a tall brown fox with a scar in his muzzle, right under his eye get shoved into a locker by a red echidna and a red shelled armadillo.
Tails clenched his shirt right over his heart as he sighed in relief. "Ignore them. It's just the wrestling team. That's Knuckles, Mighty and Spike." He pointed at each of them as he spoke.
"Right." Sonia muttered, then walked closer to the door. "It was nice meeting you, Tails. Thank you so much for your help."
"Of course! If you need any more help, don't be afraid to ask me." He spoke rather nervously.
"Thanks bud, see you around." I waved at him as I followed my siblings inside the office. A smile plastered on his face as I walked away.
