What is the Poets Pub?

It is a gathering place for all poets. Not just the established, but those who have just discovered this amazing form of writing.

I want to offer a site that caters to all Poets and gives them the opportunity to present their Poems to an audience they might not normally have.

An audience of their peers.

An audience that does not judge, but encourages and inspires.

I offer friendly competitions and challenges here.

BUT ...

There are no winners or losers.

There are no bad Poems.

There is just a universal gathering of Poets, sharing.

There is family.

And family gives encouragement, support, and inspiration.

They do not criticize, they offer possible new directions.

They do not condemn, but they praise.

They stand by each other and accept each other as they are.

We are a Family of Poets.

We are the drummers of Literature.

Drummers are accepted as being a little off-colour, out in left field. They see and hear things differently, but they are the backbeat of any band.

They keep the time and though not always in the limelight, without them there is really no band.

As Poets we see things differently.

Ten of us can look at a picture and interpret it 10 different ways and then write a Poem that 10 people interpret 10 different ways.

We can find inspiration in a speck of dust or a magnificent sunset.

We are the backbeat of Literature.

I created the Poets Pub as a showcase for all Poets.

It is truly a labor of love.

I want to see this most amazing of all literary forms get the credit and distinction that it deserves.

Poetry is as diverse as the poetry forms it encompasses and is only limited by the imagination of those who write it.

I ask but one thing in return for presenting this opportunity.
