ↀ30. Epilogue

Author's POV

Two Years Later

It's been two years since that incident and since the time when Namjoon and Jin became one of the few angels that operated from the earth. In the paranormal world, we call those types of angels, Disguised Helpers. There are a very few numbers of them in the whole universe, from around 10-15. This job is usually given to one of the most trusted and hard-working people. If you have impressed the people in heaven with your skills and hard work, then you are capable of being one.

And this was what Jin and Namjoon achieved. They went on the goal of finding Jin's soul and helping him apply to finally become an angel, but they achieved way more than they could ever imagine without the knowledge of how all of this was even possible.

Right after they came to earth, they had an identity, a nice penthouse in the middle of the city.

Namjoon worked at one of the best law firms in the city. He was a defence lawyer just like he planned way back before. He gave justice to all the clients who were hurt by the mistakes and blind eyes of the law. He gave justice to the falsely accused ones and the more he did the more he started loving his job from the bottom of his heart.

Jin was a forensic psychologist, who studied the minds and motives of many deadly criminals. He both studied their brains and tried to find what might have caused them to do sinful things like these and built their profiles. He worked in catching so many psychopaths, serial killers, and sexual assaulters. Due to his efficiency and clearly pinpointing many various reasons why the criminal is like this and what they can do in the future, people truly always come to him for extremely difficult studies of criminals. He does his job so that he can prepare people and keep them away from the monsters that might rise up to attack the society. He also does his job so he can tell how to avoid people from becoming like these criminals, which is why he frequently teaches as well in universities.

Yes, you usually need to have loads of years of experience to become a professor, but due to Jin's extraordinary findings of criminals and his skills, he was easily asked to sometimes give special lectures in various colleges and universities. He truly wanted to help stop evil minds from becoming out of control.

But since they both were angels in disguise, they had more than their human jobs. At night, whenever they were notified that one of the dark angels was getting out of control and attacking humans, they would get in their paranormal form, invisible basically, and fight the dark Shadows. It was as if they were superheroes and well...maybe they were superheroes. But the two modest humans always denied that, saying that they were just doing their job and helping humanity. Though, we all know that they are true heroes.

Throughout these years, Jin and Namjoon also decided to finally get married. They didn't really need to do so, because they were already soulmates, meaning that they were pretty much permanently bonded to each other due to the rules of the universe and cupids. But for the fun, excitement, and feeling of getting married, they did marry. And no, they were not going to adopt children any time sooner, because they still wanted to explore many various things in the universe.

If you're wondering if the two would go back to the ghost world, then yeah, they did! Every weekend, if they had time, they would go spend time in the ghost world. This is due to that place having so much cooler things. They would also frequently visit the HQ in heaven to work when they had time after finishing their tasks in the human world. They had loads of work all the time, but they never complained due to both of them loving their job.

Currently, Namjoon was in a trial. He was the attorney of his client who was falsely accused of fighting back to her husband who was abusing her. Yes, it was just in self-defence, but here's the thing, most of the witnesses, who were the neighbours, mentioned that she hit her husband with a chair. And as Namjoon discussed with his client, she said that her husband immediately started playing the victim.

No one was also listening to her because they were all saying, 'If he was abusing you, then why didn't you report before.' And this is the final trial of this case.

The trial was in full progress and Namjoon was giving the statement on behalf of his client. The courtroom was nearly full in capacity due to many reporters being there. The plaintiff was actually the son of a famous CEO so it's understandable. Anyways let's see how the trail is going.

"Your honour, regardless of her hitting her husband with a chair, you have to see the reasoning behind that, she was clearly doing it in self-defence-" Namjoon immediately got cut off by one of the prosecutors. "Your honour, as we can see from one of the clips that the witnesses took, the defendant has hit the plaintiff not only one time but more than 2 at least, meaning that the defendant was not completely hitting him with self-defence motives."

"Well if you look at the clip while paying attention to the plaintiff then you can clearly see him getting up and grabbing the bat that he was hitting her before with. And yes I know that witnesses said that they didn't see him hitting his wife with it. But it was still there, from the beginning of the whole scene the witnesses saw. So we can easily guess that there was a possibility he used it to hit his wife with it before in the whole scene." Namjoon continued speaking as he faced the 12 jurors

"Now regarding her hitting her husband with either self-defence or abuse motives, there are reasons to back up my argument. For example, you are the victim and you hit the abuser once. But obviously, when he falls to the ground he's trying to get back to his fighting position with a thing that he was hitting you with. And in that situation, you are not hitting him with the tendency of just hurting but of stopping him from hitting you again.

And if we look at that clip while keeping that theory and our minds, then we can easily see that she didn't hit him anywhere else on his body, but more on his hand, the thing that was trying to grab the bat with. So it still does count as self-defence and my client can't be charged for that." Namjoon sat back down on his seat while still looking at the jurors who were nodding their heads in approval of Namjoon's words.

"Prosecution, what's your say in this situation?" The judge asked. "Your honour, let's suppose that it WAS self-defence, but about the defendant's accusations about the fact that her husband has been abusing her for years? Isn't that a false accusation if the defendant doesn't have any concrete evidence or any wounds which are most likely caused by assault or physical abuse to even slightly support her false allegation?"

Namjoon stood up with slight anger lacing on his face. "Your Honour! If we look at the defendant's medical history then we can see the various hospital visits she has made every month, they also state that she usually pays her visit to get a check-up for her chronic muscle injuries and many bruises." Namjoon said again while facing the jurors. "But, that could be also caused by her clumsiness and in her age of mid-40s, it's very easy to get injuries and pain. And again looking at her medical reports, the scars were at most common places where it is easy to get hurt by yourself." The prosecution says.

"Though, just like you said, from her medical reports we can see on the doctor's notes section that she had various injuries in just one visit which were at different healing stages, which could mean that her husband hit her frequently, which could ALSO suggest that he DID physically abuse her regularly!" Namjoon said with everything in him. "Objection, your honour! The defendant's attorney is making false assumptions with no expertise in this area."

Namjoon looked at the judge with seriousness. "For that, I would like to ask to summon my first expert witness who is a general family physician, Dr Choi Eun" "You may" The judge allowed. Soon after a female figure stood up from the audience bench and walked to the witness box. She did all the pledge stuff and was ready to give her expert opinion.

And well, since all of this is just very complicated I will simply tell you that the doctor gave her opinion regarding the defendant's wounds that they are most likely to be caused by physical abuse. Just like Namjoon mentioned before, this is due to the frequent visits and various scars that had a different healing process. But yes, the wounds accrued in the most likely places for a middle-aged person to get hurt at. And this is how the prosecution changed the direction by saying that there is still no evidence he actually abused her frequently which makes half of her accusation fake making her whole accusation false. But Namjoon didn't completely care about the prosecution, he cared about changing the juror's perspective.

And so far, regardless of the prosecution taking the lead, he was confident that he was going to win this case as he could see that many jurors were agreeing with him. And well because, he knew just the right way to take the upper hand.

After the Trial

Namjoon walked out of the court house and walked down the stairs after getting so many hugs and grateful thank yous from his poor client. He also just finished giving some of his words to the many reporters that were surprisingly waiting outside for him. I mean it was understandable since this case related a very phenomenal CEO's son.

As Joon finally reached the end of the staircase he immediately noticed a familiar figure standing in the middle of the place that was filled with few lawyers and people walking out and in.

A huge grin appeared on Namjoon's face as he realised that the person was no one other than his own lovely husband, Kim Seokjin. He waved at him with enthusiasm and joy. Jin just chuckled and did the same.

The taller male in the distance was looking like a total nerdy scientist by his outfit, honestly. Underneath he had a plain white shirt's collar popping over the sandy golden sweater. It was topped with a dark chocolate brown long coat which had slight golden lines making faint squares over the thick fabric. His shirt and sweaters were tucked under plain black trousers and his feet were covered with dark brown formal shoes. And ofcourse, his slightly thin black framed round glasses just added to his scientist look.

The man had just arrived from a nation-wide interview in the biggest news firms of the country. The man had recently helped in catching a notorious serial killer that had been haunting the entire country for literally a whole year.

Jin wasn't involved in this case from the very beginning, but when the entire thing started to become way too complex and intricate even for the forensic psychologists in the team, then that's when Jin was called and officially registered into the team.

And because of him, the case that was going on over a year, got solved in less than a month. This is exactly why he became even bigger of a public influence and famous amongst the entire legal and psychological department in an instance. But why didn't he suggest to help earlier? Well, first of all he already had many long term lectures, interviews and cases that he was working in so he wasn't free to take the case at all.

Now, you could understand why exactly he had to go to a nation-wide broadcasting interview.

So that's why the man that was currently standing in front of Namjoon, was also trying his best to cover his face regardless of not having a mask at the very moment. Because he already knew that there are many

Namjoon immediately sprinted towards Jin and hugged him tightly. Jin stumbled back a little by both the force and surprise. He laughed at his husband's childish action and hugged him back.

"Well seems like someone won the case!" Jin grinned as he looked down at his love. Namjoon looked back at him and nodded his head. "Indeed! Jinnie, you don't know how happy I am! Finally, those losers got shamed in front of so many people after a long while!"

Jin patted his head as he nodded. "And you were the one who made it possible!" Namjoon was a happy koala as Jin praised him and that's when he remembered something.

"Oh, yeah, I saw your interview! Couldn't see the entire thing because my break was finished and I had to help my client, but I will watch it later for sure! Regardless of that, I'm so proud of you! Like I nearly cried seeing you being broadcasted to the entire nation and people praising you so much" Namjoon cheered with all his heart and couldn't help but quickly leave a lovely peck on Jin's forehead. "I truly felt like a proud husband"

Jin laughed and held him in his arms. "Oh thank you so much! If it weren't for you encoranging me I swear, I would have had a mental breakdown because of this stupid case! So thank you! Anyways, wanna go to our favourite restaurant for dinner and then head back home?" Jin asked. "Sure, I'm pretty hungry anyway." They soon headed towards Jin's car and went to the restaurant.

They ate and celebrated Namjoon and his defendant's victory. Though, soon they returned back home and just relaxed from the extremely stressful day.

The two angels were currently staring at the night sky with the mugs of their butterfly pea tea. They were on the huge balcony of their luxurious penthouse. The two sipped and enjoyed the one moon that was in the sky along with the stars.

"Remember the times when we both pledged against the moons, that we will never leave each other?" Namjoon asked while looking at Jin who was still looking at the sky. "Yeah. They were the most beautiful and emotional moments of my life." He grinned and looked at Namjoon.

"I told you right, that I will always be with you like a shadow," Jin said while staring into the eyes of Namjoon. "Yeah, you did and I will also be with you, like a shadow"

The two chuckled and leaned in for a passionate kiss. Nothing could separate them, even the universe.

But well, what the two angels didn't know was that...there were two specific demons, that were lovers like them, but lethal. Beings that were ready to attack humanity and brave angels like Namjoon and Jin.

Though, don't worry, because the power of love and the light always wins against any darkness.
