He didn't crack.

Nor did he look insulted.

All he did was look at me with a cool smile on his face , the red rose in his hand making him look like a vampire prince who stepped out of a gothic movie.

"And what is my lane?" He asked .

I wasn't sure but I  had a feeling he was mocking me or maybe I was just looking too much into it?

I took a deep breath.

"Your lane is Brenda. Scurry to her." I said not mincing my words or sugar coating it.

I shouldn't care what he thinks about me because he doesn't matter to me at all.

He nodded stiffly. .his clear blue eyes moving from me to the students milling in. The once quite corridor was filling in with loud chatter.

"I'm over her. " He glanced at me . .that annoying smile still stuck on his face. It was annoying because it was affecting me!

I rolled my eyes. "And ? What am I suppose to do with that? "

"You're suppose to go out on a date with me." He said softly. The sleepy sexy eyes raking over my face.

I smiled mockingly.

"Who died and made you the queen?" I tapped on my chin for dramatic effect. "In case you didn't notice I don't respond well to orders."

"I'm not . I'm just—," he pushed his hand in his hair . .biting his lower lip and it caught my eyes seeing his lip turn bloody red!

That was hot!

"I'm trying to be a gentleman here. And still getting accused of being a scoundrel. " He lifted his hand and my eyes twitched at his move.

"This. . . is for you."

What?

For me?

Didn't he say—

My eyes turned into slits.

"One minute you tell me it's not for me and the next—"

"I swear it's for you. I was just. . messing with you. I like your. .fiery persona." He grinned his eyes on the flower and then onto me as if saying well? Won't you take it?

The flower was blood red and reminded me of  the most beautiful of spring days and. .the color—

It was just a freaking flower!

Nothing much!

I snatched the flower from his hand and he winced slightly at that.

The thorn caught on his skin— a red line streaked across the back of his hand as tiny drops of blood colored in.

He shook his hand and then placed his thumb on it. Trying to stop the blood.

"Sorry about that." I said quite blandly and I wasn't sounding sorry at all.

I mean I was sorry but it's not like he was gonna die from it so all was fine and dandy.

As he continued to press on it, I cut off the stick of the rose and tossed it away . .the big fat rose now laying in the palm of my hand.

"That was interesting." He commented now eyeing the rose warily.

I shrugged. " I'm only interested in the rose."

"But the thorns protect it." He said now checking his flesh.

"It doesn't matter. The rose is gonna be snatched anyways so. . .," I trailed off .

"Judging the look on your face I hope. . it's a yes now." He said giving me that stunning smile.

I laughed at him which kinda shocked him into  oblivion.

"Oh! There goes your chance again!. So you handed me the rose for the date's sake huh? And here I thought I was looking pretty today. Poor me!" I batted my eyes at him.

"There is just no winning with you ." He chuckled softly.

"You don't win a girl by chasing her." I said it very casually.

"Then how exactly am I suppose to win. . .you?" His eyes brightened.

"How about you show an ounce of respect first? Maybe an actual want? Do you really think I don't see the disgust in your eyes when you look at my body? The aversion in them? If you think I don't. . .then you're one mighty fool, Snitching Smith!"

The smile on his face melted off.

Like how blood drains from the face.

The bell rang announcing the start of the class

"Don't worry. Your rose is safe with me. Better luck next time. Buh-bye!" I winked at him now walking away from him.

Giving him my fat ass.

I didn't see him the rest of the day.

Fine by me.

Freaking loser!

I have no idea why guys like him think they can get any girl they set their eyes on?

But the culprits are the girls here.

Girls who view guys like him like Adonis incarnate and let him walk all over them so in turn the hot shot thinks I - can - score - any - girl.

To be honest, they view girls as objects.

I had no idea what that Smith guy was after. What was his agenda? What was his notice behind all this crap?

I was no naive girl. One day the hottie wakes up and decides to date me? Oh sure!

Pigs can fly too then.

Making him think as if I'm going to say yes and then ditch him at the last second was giving me life!

Guess McDreamy is going after the wrong one.

The day was hot and I needed to go home. Wash off . Bath in body wash. Wear something skimpy that the curtains of my room are allowed to see.

Just unwind.

I was out the building and I made sure to keep my head down and not look up. It would be like getting hit by the sunlight. I had taken off my glasses too because I had greasy eyelids. Sue me.

Walking down the pavement, I enjoyed those people who were as thin as needle. I mean they had no meat on them . .no meat no sweat. No jiggling.

I shielded my eyes and looked up. . seeing the almost abandoned pavement. The road to my area was sketchy so people avoided it.

I didn't.

I had a taser on me.

I'll tase their dicks off!

While looking ahead, I slowed down  seeing him. Standing by his Porsche. .a worried look on his face . He was trying on his cellphone but this area got blackout on signals sometimes. He was cursing and calling.

I would have avoided him at all cost.

But I couldn't ignore him since he was literally in my way. I was ten feet away from him.

He did glance at me absently but then he was back at it. Calling.

It would have been so easy to just pass by and mind my business but— seeing another human in trouble . . .aw man!! Why couldn't I be the evil guy?

Signing, I stopped by his car and hopped down the pavement on the road. He jerked at that. .worry and fear flashing across his sharp features.

He had that teen wolf  face. Tyler Posey sharp eyes. Sharp everything—

"Woah! " I raised my hands in surrender." I'm not here to kill you. Also even if did, what do I have against you?" I grinned.

Guess shouldn't have.

He didn't return the smile.

F him.

"What's the glitch?" I asked looking over at his gorgeous car.

"What?" He asked and his voice was low. Raspy.

I tried not to face palm.

What's up with these city nancies?

"The car. What's up with your car? " I tried to be patient.

Patience win the race, Mia!

A light bulb went off on his face.

"Oh! Yeah—my car—the tire —," he pointed at the one on the left side. " It's dead flat."

I glanced at that and it was.

"So . . why don't you fix it?" I asked him kinda. . rudely.

A flush of embarrassment on his face and he looked away from my face like how men do when they are embarrassed .

"I don't know how to." His voice was small. Really really small.

I tried so hard. .so hard to keep a straight face.

But I couldn't!

I burst out laughing. . laughing while bending over . .his face turned sour. But I didn't stop.

The city prince can't do the shit?!!

"You can't— you can't," a bubble of laughter ate away my sentence." You're —you're shitting me!"

He looked helplessly at me.

And I stopped right there . I was being a bad gal! No one should laugh at anyone being helpless!

But I couldn't keep the grin off of my face much to his dismay.

So I zipped my mouth and offered him my services.

He held my backpack and I got down to do the dirty. He did ask me where did I learn this.

I smiled while changing the tire.

"My dad taught me. He said I should know everything a guy does."

He nodded and I did ask him his name.

"Conrad."

"Mia."

A slight smile fell on sharp face.

"Glad to know you. . .Mia."
