Chapter 19
A/N- LONG, LONG CHAPTER ALERT. LIKE 7K WORDS. OOPS LOL.
*Location- Rouge hideout*

"I can't tell if it's good or not that we're having trouble finding where Spider-Man is," Steve muttered as he stood around a table, looking at all his friends. Bucky was beside him, although he looked a little tense and Steve wasn't sure why.
Natasha watched some of the new videos of the hero that had been filmed and nodded slightly. "I don't think it's bad actually. If we're having problems then I'm sure Ross is as well," Natasha commented, the others agreeing with a nod.
"What should we do then?" Bucky asked lightly, he really didn't want to have to do this. Peter was nothing close to a threat, and he knew they wouldn't hurt him, but the fear was still there and Bucky wouldn't be able to stand it if his little brother was hurt.
"I'll go out tonight. See if I can talk to him. He doesn't seem like a threat, but I want to talk to him. I'll make sure to keep to the shadows," Steve concluded, looking around the table for approval from them all.
Bucky swallowed and nodded, "and you won't hurt them?" Bucky asked, trying to keep his voice from showing the fear and worry he was really feeling. He was The Winter Soldier for Gods sake, he shouldn't be feeling like this.
'You're Bucky Barnes, not The Winter Solider. Not anymore,' Peters words echoed in his mind and Bucky corrected himself in his mind.
He was Bucky Barnes, to these people, as much time as he had spent with them and how important they all were to him. They never got to see the emotions Bucky really feels, or truly understand how Bucky communicates feelings. So seeing him like this- vulnerable, probably came as a shock to them all.
Steve looked at Bucky with a close eye, he could see Natasha doing the same and new soon they would work out something was up with Bucky. After all, he had been spending more time not at the warehouse then in it, don't get him wrong, he used to hardly be there, but it was a considerable amount less now with Peter.
"I won't hurt him Buck," Steve promised, giving Bucky a reassuring smile.
As much as Steve wanted to ask what was going on, he knew if Bucky wanted him to know, he would say something to him. He knew it was more than likely something to do with this Spider-Man, seeing as Bucky hadn't put any input in on how to catch him and looked more than worried whenever they spoke about getting him.
What is was however. Steve had no idea.
Bucky nodded silently, hoping Peter won't go out patrolling tonight. Although he knew it was a useless hope, Peter wouldn't miss out on patrol for anything as far as Bucky knew, and this would be no difference. He also couldn't warn him, as he wouldn't even be able to see him before patrol as he always comes by after.
Natasha held a thoughtful glare on her face as she looked at Bucky. She was about to say something, seeing as it looked as though Clint was also catching onto something. But before either of them could utter a word Steve shot the pair of them a look, effectively shutting them up before they could say anything.
"It's already 5pm, so you might want to hurry and get ready Cap. We can't be sure when Spider-dude will be going out," Sam commented, glancing at the clock.
That seemed to snap them all into action. Steve went off to change and get ready to go, while the others all walked off, Clint and Natasha muttering to each other about something, leaving Bucky stood at the table alone.
His focus zeroed in on a picture of Spider-Man. Bucky really hoped Steve didn't hurt Peter, he didn't want to have to pick between the pair, because he already knew who he would pick.

Peter settled more on the roof, a content smile on his face. His body still hurt a lot from the beating he got yesterday, but the happiness (albeit, wavering constantly) about being able to spend time with Bucky for longer and staying at the tower made him happy.
He really hoped Bucky would let him stay the night.
"Hey Karen?" Peter chimed quietly in the night sky.
'Yes Peter,' Karen replied, her stoic voice emotionless as always. Although Peter was sure every now and again he could hear emotion in her voice, he hoped soon she would start portraying more emotion.
Sighing, Peter laid back against the rough surface of the roof. His mask was still on in order to speak to Karen, but he could see the clouds rolling through the sky and the moon shinning brightly behind the clouds. Sometimes Peter wished there was less light pollution so he could see the stars.
"What's your dream in life?"
'I'm afraid I wouldn't know Peter. I am an AI after all,' Karen voiced. And there it was. Peter could hear amusement in her voice and Peter couldn't stop the small laugh that fell past his lips.
"Oh come on K," Peter whined, hoping she might reply with an actual answer.
'To feel more human.'
And God damn if Peter didn't relate to something so much. Yes he was human, but he never felt like it anymore. Mays constant beatings made him feel as though he was nothing more than an object, only there for the use of others. Peter hated that feeling, and to know Karen feels a little like that made guilt swamp his stomach.
"I'm sure I can talk to Mr- Tony about that," Peter replied, already thinking about all of the things he could do to make it a reality (or close to that is).
'Thank you Peter. May I ask what your dream is?' Karen questioned.
Peter pulled himself into a sitting position, looking down at his hands with a heavy sigh. Many thoughts were swarming through his head as he though about what he could say.
"I guess I just want to be free. I want to be able to wake up and not be scared for my life, and to not be in pain anymore. I just- I know it's a lot to ask for. But I see so many people with freedom and safety, and I just wish sometimes I could have that," Peter admitted quietly.
Karen remained quiet for a moment, and Peter worried she might tell Mr Stark.
'Is there something going on at home Peter?' Karen wondered.
This was his chance. His chance to be free. He could tell Karen, and then Karen can tell Tony. Then it would mean Peter wasn't telling him directly. So that's not wrong. Right? It- it had to be. But yet, even when Peter opened his mouth to say it all, nothing could come out beside a huff of air.
Even now, Peter was trapped under Mays hold with no way out.
"No, I- everything is okay at home. Don't worry K."
Before Karen could ask anything else, Peter heard a distant scream and jumped to his feet, hoping Karen wouldn't say anything about this.
-
Peter watched from afar as he saw the man move closer to the younger man, his eyes narrowed as he took in the scene. Peter could see the older man raise his fist and that was enough to get Peter to jump into action.
He shot a web at the mans fist and pulled back with all his might. The man only had a small amount of time before he was thrown back into the hard brick wall, incapacitating him before shooting another web to secure him in place.
Peter jumped down and made sure to keep himself alert and not intimidating. The man looked at Spider-Man wearily before looking down at the man webbed up.
"Are you okay sir?" Peter questioned carefully.
A single tear slipped down the mans face and a small, tentative smile slipped on his face while he nodded. "I'm- yeah, I'm okay. Thank you for- thank you for helping me," the man stumbled out, stepping a little further a way from the webbed man.
Peter could tell the man was obviously scared and it worried Peter on what it could actually that had happened that caused the man to be so on edge.
"Call the police, I'll stay with you here until they arrive and you're safe," Peter promised, feeling as though he needed to see this one through to the end.
Straight away, the man seemed to smile a little more and relax while nodding wordlessly before pulling his phone. Peter stayed beside the man and listened as he spoke to the cops. He saw the man webbed up glaring at the man beside him and Peter moved forward.
"You're making the wrong move Spider. Helping him. He's done everything wrong, he deserves to feel the pain I was about to give him," The man- Peter decided to call him idiot for now- seethed.
Peter could see the man on the phone- Peter decided on Bod, until he got his actual name- moved back slightly while still on the phone, seeming to get more than scared about idiot in front of him. In that moment, Peter understood Bob more than anyone could understand.
Anger flared in Peters chest and he knew he could help someone right now, who is maybe in a position that Peter was in. No one could help him, but maybe he could help someone else.
He moved toward the man in a blink, his hand wrapped around his neck. Not tight enough to cut off air, but enough to show that Peter was the one with all the control here. (Part of him hated himself for all of this, he felt as though he was as bad as May and many abusers out there).
"I want you to listen to me, and listen fucking closely," Peter seethed, making Idiot look at Peter, there was amusement within his eyes, but he knew that was about to change.
Without saying anything, Karen had already pulled up all the information on the man in front of him
Name: Doug Kelly
Age: 24
Address: 7643 Race Street
Brooklyn, NY 11229
"Leave this man alone, don't go near him. Don't look at him, don't even breath in his direction. If I ever hear anything about him getting hurt from you, I swear it will be the end of you."
The man huffed a laugh and said, "and how exactly will you be able to know that."
"Well, Mr Kelly, I don't think it would be too hard to get to where you live. It's what, a ten minute drive from here. It wouldn't be too hard to have someone making sure you stick to it," as Peter continued to talk, the mans eyes widened in fear.
Idiot- Peter refuses to call him anything else- looked back at Bob then to Peter again. "Okay, okay Jesus, just. I won't go near him," Idiot replied quickly.
Peter eyed him carefully, making sure he was telling the truth. After a moment longer he pushed the man back by his neck before walking away again, moving to be beside Bob.
Flashing lights and sirens were moving towards them and Peter said to Bob, "that dick of a man shouldn't bother you anymore. But if he does, I want you to come find me and I'll deal with it."
Relief floods the man face and he pulls Peter into a hug. At first, Peter flinched back and froze, but before the man could pull back and apologise, Peter wrapped his arms around the man and relaxed slightly into his arms.
"Thank you so much Spider-Man," the man whispered before pulling back, a grateful look on his face and a sheen of tears in his eyes.
"Of course sir, I better go. The police are here," Peter stated, nodding towards the people approaching.
Peter took one last glance at the webbed up man and made sure he knew how serious Peter was about hurting Bod.
Spider-Man shot out a web and began to make his way to a roof, before he could however, he spotted someone in an alley. The man appeared to be trying to hide in the shadows and not be seen, if it weren't for his higher senses, he would have not seen him.
He contemplated it momentarily before deciding to confront the man. He didn't take a moment to think over it before he was jumping down and standing in front of the man. Shockingly, to both of them, the man didn't seem startled and Spider-Man had actually seen the man.
"Why are you following me?" Peter questioned, tilting his head and readying himself to get out of the situation as quick as he could.
Steve frowned lightly, wondering if he should reply or leave. But he knew no was his chance, so he may as well take it.
"I needed to talk to you," Steve replied lowly.
Straight away, Peter knew who it was. Steve Rogers, Captain America. Also, Bucky Barnes best friend, his pseudo brothers best friend.
This could go one of two way, Peter will be hurt, a lot. Or he'll be...welcomed? Probably not that, but something maybe good. No, knowing Peters luck, he was screwed.
"And what might that be Mr Rogers?" Peter asked politely, he might be a little scared about what was happening, but that didn't mean he couldn't be nice and respectful. He also didn't want to have his ass handed to him by Captain America.
A heavy sigh slipped passed Steve's lips before he glanced around the dark, empty alley way before he stepped out from the shadows and slip his hoodie off his face and Peter was able to see his face properly.
His blonde hair looked a little darker, and his eyes seemed tired. Peter could see, even now the guilt was in his eyes and under the expression he was more than likely trying to hide.
"We need to know who you are and what your intentions are, we might be 'war criminals', but we still want to protect our people," Steve explained, trying to say it lightly as to not seem accusing. Because as much as he knew this Spider-dude wasn't a threat, he still needed to be completely sure.
Peter exhaled shakily and stepped back. He knew Mr Rogers was a good person, all the stories from Bucky had made him believe that. But this- he couldn't tell him this, no way. He knows Bucky trusts him, but Peter can't, not that easily.
Peter was shaking his head before he even knew he was, "I- I can't tell you that. But you can- you can trust me sir, I promise," Peter mumbled, not wanting to have to explain why.
Steve narrowed his eyes slightly and looked at more closely at Spider-Man. He could tell he didn't want to tell Steve, but he needed to know.
"Sorry kid, that's not enough. I can't be going off fake promises, and sooner or later, Ross will come sniffing around and it won't end well," Steve voiced, knowing exactly what it was like to be hunted down by Ross.
Peter really hoped Bucky would forgive him for what he was about to do.
"I know Bucky."
The words caught Steve off guard and he had to take a moment. He could hear it in Spider-Mans voice that he wasn't lying. But Steve couldn't understand how this was possible. He supposed it would make senses as to why Bucky had been so on edge about Spider-Man, and why he was never around much.
But Steve couldn't be sure that was true.
"And how am I meant to know you're telling the truth. One thing about Bucky is that he doesn't really like people," Steve reminded, looking at Peter with a look of 'don't lie.'
Peter looked down, wondering what he could do to make him believe him. "I could- I could tell you some stories Buckys told me about you two, from- from back then?" Peter whispered.
Steve thought about it. If he said something that was true, then Steve would believe it. No one knew much of anything from when Steve and Bucky were in the 40's. "And does Bucky know who you actually are?" Steve wondered, wanting to know if Bucky knew it all.
Peter hummed while nodded. "Yeah, he- um, he helped a lot with some- with some issues," Peter stumbled out.
Steve nodded, and allowed Peter to say what he wanted. Steve wasn't sure if he believed him yet, but he knew it would only be a certain amount of time before he knew if Spider-Man was telling the truth.
"Um, well, Bucky said when you were both younger, and you're mum was around. She would make cookies whenever one of you were hurt or ill, he said the two of you were always beside each other and both your parents had even agreed you were brothers."
Before Steve could say anything (he was partially in shook that he was hearing this, as it was all true so far, and it was something not many people knew. He thought he might get angry if someone were to know this, but from what it seemed, Bucky and this Spider-Man were close if Bucky was sharing this), Peter continued on.
"And once, Bucky had to take on like five guys because they were all picking on you and he didn't want you to get hurt. Somehow, he was able to take them down, but he ended up with a broken arm."
Steve smiled at that memory, it might have been bad, but any memory from then brings a smile from his face. His mum had been not so impressed with his for getting Buck into that situation but she helped fix up his arm.
"You really do know him, don't you," Steve mumbled, not so much as a question, but more of a statement.
Peter still nodded in agreement, even if it wasn't a question, Peter still felt the need to agree with the statement.
"I met him about three or four months ago," Peter spoke.
"I mean, if Bucky knows who you are. And trusts you, you could- you could probably come back with me and meet the others. It would mean probably showing your identity, or not if you don't want to," Steve explained, knowing if Bucky trusted him, he was worthy of it.
Peter was in shock. There was no way this was real. There was no way that Peter had first, got to know Bucky Barnes, then Tony Stark, and now, all the other Avengers. This wasn't- this wasn't how it was meant to be. He was a nobody, May had reminded him of that over and over again that he was no one important and never will be.
"I don't know- um," Peter really wasn't sure what to do. He wanted to talk to Bucky, (or Tony, but he knew that would be a bad idea about talking about this with the man. He enjoyed talking to Tony, but he wasn't sure if he could talk to him about this), but to talk to Bucky would help him know if doing this was the right choice.
It was as though Steve could read his mind. "Do you want to talk to Bucky about it, I don't want to force you to do something you don't want to," Steve replied, making Peter nod and sigh in relief.
Peter knew what this man had done, but he could see, much like with Bucky, that he didn't mean to cause any harm. And as angry as Peter was at them all for leaving Tony like they did, he knew it was something they would change and something they would want to fix. The guilt laid obviously heavy within Mr Rogers chest, much like it did with Bucky.
"Can I?" Peter mumbled.
Steve nodded and hummed in response. "If you want to wait here, I can go grab him, and I'll be back in like ten minutes."
"Yeah, yeah okay. Thank you," Peter thanked, watching as Mr Rogers put the hood back up and walked into the shadows before making his way somewhere.
Once Mr Rogers had left, Peter climbed up the wall and onto the roof. He was scared, he didn't want to admit it but he really was. He didn't know if doing this could risk everything he ever had, after all, if Tony knew about all of this he would hate his guts. Vice versa with Peter and now, potentially the Avengers.
"Karen," Peter whispered, scared if he talked too loud he may break the peace that was surrounding him.
'Yes Peter?' Karen asked just as quietly.
"What do I do?" Peter sighed, looking down at his hands solemnly.
Karen remained silent for a moment before speaking, 'do what you think is right Peter. What's right for yourself.'
"But what if I don't know what that is?"
'From what I have seen Peter, these people care about you. Mr Barnes cares for you. I have remained silent from telling Boss as I have seen the happiness being around Mr Barnes brings you. And he is yet to cause you any harm. If that is the same for the other rouges, then so be it. You shouldn't let your happiness be dependant on what others have said or done,' Karen expressed.
Peter allowed what she said to settle in his mind for a moment. She was right. Peter didn't want to talk to any of them because of what had happened, and yet he was never even involved. Not only that, but he actually liked being around both of them.
And if the others were as nice as Bucky and Tony, then surely it would be okay. He couldn't be letting others decide who he could talk to. And if- if they were okay people, then it would- it would be okay.
But what if being around one of them hurt the other. Peter knew the conflict between them, and he didn't want to cause an even bigger rift between them all. As much as he didn't want to hurt them, he knew he couldn't just walk away from it all. Being around Tony and Bucky were to only times he ever felt safe, he didn't- no, he couldn't let that go.
Not now.
Not when May was getting worse and worse.
He was happy when he was around them both, and he might very well be happy when he was around the others as well. He couldn't get rid of the one thing keeping him okay.
"But what if it hurts one of them. I don't- Karen I don't want to hurt them," Peter mumbled sadly.
'They would understand Peter, if you explained it to them, they would understand. They're not monsters Peter.'
They're not monsters.
They're not like May.
It's something Peter doubts he will ever be able to get over now, the fact not everyone will treat him like May does. With no remorse, no care.
Just like a monster.

Steve slipped silently into the warehouse, his mind was still reeling with the fact Bucky knew Spider-Man, and knew who it was underneath the mask. He guess it makes sense as to why he was so against helping find out who he actually was and seemed so scared about one of them hurting him.
Steve saw most of them on one of the sofas, but he spotted Bucky and beelined toward him. Steve could see the look of questions on the others faces but for the moment he ignored it, wanting to get answers and let the Spider-Dude talk to Bucky.
As soon as Bucky saw Steve, his heart dropped to his stomach and he worried he might freak out a little. He couldn't read Steve's face too well, but he could easily tell there was something wrong.
"Steve, is- did you hurt Spider-Man?" Bucky questioned, trying not to let his voice portray the true fear that was making it's way along his veins.
Steve sighed and sat beside Bucky. He wasn't annoyed in the slightest at Bucky, but part of him wished he had told Steve sooner.
"No, he's okay. But I- well I spoke to him and he told me something."
Bucky tilted his head to the side, wondering what it was that Peter could have said. It was just beginning to click in his mind when Steve started to talk again.
"He said he knew you. I didn't believe it. I mean you hardly ever talk to anyone, so why would you then be friends with this Spider kid. But then he said some of the things you had told him and I knew it was true," Steve spoke.
Bucky couldn't help but freak out a little. He really didn't want Steve to be angry with him. He would have told him, but he knew Steve would tell him he couldn't see him anymore because it would be putting them at risk. But Bucky was scared it would be Peter he would be putting at risk if he didn't keep talking to him.
And, Bucky liked being around Peter. He didn't want that ripped away from him.
To add to that, Peter didn't want anyone else to know. The kid was terrified for so long before he got comfortable with Bucky, and he wasn't about to just throw him in with all the others and make him even more scared.
"Steve, I'm really sorry. It was just he seemed so scared the first time I met him and I didn't want to drag him in here with all of us and scare him even more. Not only that-" Bucky was cut off when Steve raised a hand, signalling for him to stop talking.
Buckys words died in his mouth and he waited for the ball to drop and for him to be shouted at.
"I'm not angry Buck. I get it actually. The kid seemed really scared. I came back because I wanted to know if you wanted to come back with me and talk to him. See if you can get him to come back here and see the others. If he's friends with you, it means he's a nice guy, and I'm sure if he wanted he could come here if he ever needed," Steve explained, smiling a little.
Buckys couldn't stop the sigh of relief that fell from his lips and a small smile twitching at the corner of his lips. The one thing he didn't want to happen was for everyone not to like Peter or tell him that he couldn't stay with them.
"Thank you Steve."
Steve shook his head lightly and lead the way out of the warehouse, the pair of them could feel the others eyes on them and could hear them muttering to each other about what it was they could be doing. But neither made a move to tell them, instead, they carried on out the door and into the darkness of night.
Once clear of them all, Bucky slowed slightly.
"Was he okay?" Bucky questioned quietly.
Steve remained silent for a moment before looking over at Bucky with something sparking in his eyes. They continued to walk for a few more paces before Steve finally responded.
"He seemed okay. But I don't know. Something just- seemed off. It's hard to explain, it was like-"
"I know what you mean," Bucky cut in, his gaze falling to their feet as they walked. He had really hoped it was just him that had seen it and it wasn't something that was actually obvious, although from the looks of it, it wasn't.
Steve held back a sigh. It wasn't like he was all too worried. But something about the spider guy made Steve a little on edge, not about the spider, but something around him. Like there was some big secret hanging over them all. He couldn't tell for the life of him what it might be, and it might be nothing, but couldn't stop himself from wondering what it was that made Steve worry a little.
"Do you know what it could be?" Steve wondered.
Bucky shook his head silently. He hated talking about it- not that he ever did. But even thinking about it for him, made him question everything and worry even more. And he knew he shouldn't worry so much about the kid, but every new cut or bruise made the worry cut deeper and deeper.
He had been wondering if maybe Peter was being abused at home. But he chucked that thought away. Yes, some things fit. But it didn't seem right. Of course being abused wasn't right, but Peters aunt seemed to care about him, albeit, sometimes she seemed a bit mean, but nothing too harsh.
The main suspect was bullies.
Bucky knew he was being bullied. After all, that's how they had met, Peter had been saved by Bucky when he stopped the bullies But that didn't mean it was over. Far from it in fact.
"I think it might be bullies. I saw them the first time I came met the kid, so it would make sense if it was them," Bucky explained.
Steve's heart clenched in his chest.
"So he's young?" Steve asked, although it didn't sound like a question, more like a statement.
Bucky didn't respond, but one look at his face told him everything he needed to know. The kid was obviously young, and the thought of what happens out there with fighting crime didn't sit right in Steve's stomach knowing how young he was- if his assumptions were correct that was.
"Do you think he'll come back with us?" Steve muttered, deciding it would be best to change the subject.
Bucky shrugged slightly. "I'm not too sure. I'll have to talk to him and see how he feels. He doesn't trust easy and there is no way I'm breaking the bond we have to force him there."
Steve raised an eye brow and smirked slightly while shooting a glance at Bucky. "He obviously means a lot to you," Steve pointed out.
Sighing, Bucky scrubbed a tired hand over his face. "I just, he's been through a Hell of a lot, and he's a good kid you know. I don't want him to be alone in all of this."
Steve remained quiet and the pair made their way along the dark streets, keeping to the shadows and darkness to ensure they don't get seen.
-
Peter could hear them before he could see them. They were quiet, but Peter was still able to detect the light footfalls of two people.
His heart was beating quickly as he looked down at the dark alley. He trusted Bucky, but this was something entirely different to him. It took him a while to warm up to the thought of Pepper, Happy and Rhodey knowing about who he really was; and he had thought he wouldn't have to add anymore people to the list that knew who he really is.
But that list was about to get a Hell of a lot bigger if he were to do this.
Then again, he could just keep the mask on when he was there.
"Spider-Man, you here?" Steve asked openly, glancing around him and Bucky.
Peter took one more deep breath before he leaped off the edge of the roof and landed in front of Bucky and Steve.
As soon as Bucky saw Peter, a smile broke out across his face and he opened his arms in a gesture for a hug. Peter didn't even think twice before hugging the man, a smile on his face as he did so. This was the only times he ever got a hug (beside an occasional one from Ned), and it was the only form of contact he ever really got that didn't result in something bruised, or even broken.
Steve couldn't stop the shocked expression that fell onto his face. He had seen Bucky this content hardly ever. And the fact he was hugging someone made him even more shocked. The only person Bucky would ever hug is him, and even then it's not something that happened a lot.
However, Steve couldn't help but smile a little, seeing how content they were and he couldn't think anything other than them acting like brothers.
"How you doing kid?" Bucky asked, pulling back from the hug.
Peter shrugged and frowned a little under the mask, "I guess okay. This just kinda came out of nowhere."
Bucky hummed and glanced at Steve, thinking over what he could say. He knew this was his chance to see if he wanted to come with them and meet the rest of the team. Bucky knew the others would love Peter, and if it meant another safe place for Peter to go, he would be happy to introduce them all. But he really, really didn't want to force him to do anything he didn't want to do.
"Okay, I'm just going to say it, you can do whatever you really want here. You can come back with us, and we can introduce you to the others and you can come around whenever. Or, we can leave you alone and we can go back to what we were doing before. I know you, and if I say you're all good, the team won't question it." (Even if they wanted to, Bucky wanted to add, but kept that to himself, not wanting to stress Peter out on his choice.)
Peter made no move to respond for a moment as he thought about everything. On one hand, he could keep everything a secret and go back to how it was before. Or, he could go with Bucky, reveal his identity and have another place- hopefully- to go to find safety when he needed a break.
Peter shot one glance at Steve before looking back at Bucky.
"Can I trust them?"
Bucky glanced back at Steve, who had moved a little ways back to give them a little space. They both knew he could still hear them, but hoped he wasn't paying too much attention.
"Yeah Kid, you can trust them. They might be annoying and pushy sometimes, but they won't spill anything you say or reveal. They're good people," Bucky responded lightly.
Peter took a shaky breath and nodded before he moved a little closer to Mr Rogers.
At seeing Spider-Man move closer to him, Steve straightened out a little and looked at him. He watched as he shakily reached for his mask, hesitating slightly before pulling it off. It revealed a head of brown curls and dark brown eyes, a dark bruise nestled itself under Peters eye and a cut lip sat cosy on his face.
"I'm Peter," muttered Peter, hoping this would go okay and he won't regret this.
Steve couldn't respond for a moment at the shock of what happened before he smiled lightly and held out his hand for Peter to shake. As Peter took the hand, hesitantly, Steve replied with, "nice to meet you Peter, I'm Steve."
Bucky watched from the side lines with a small smile on his face. Barley a twitch of the lips was there, but both Steve and Peter knew it was a smile when looking at him. Bucky would be lying if he said he wasn't proud, the kid really trusted him enough for this and it made Bucky feel more human then ever. He hoped it was a good thing and wouldn't backfire in his face however.
Once the moment was over, Bucky moved forward a little and voiced, "do you want to come back with us now and see the others."
Peter nodded before he allowed himself to think too much.
He trusted Bucky, and he knew this was something that could end well for him. (Or terribly, but he was really hoping that wouldn't happen. Peter was starting to doubt he would be able to cope with something like that happening now.)

*Location- Rouge hideout*
-Third Person P.O.V-
Peter, Bucky and Steve had just made it to the big warehouse where all the others were and Peter was really beginning to doubt his choice to do this.
He trusted Bucky, but he really wasn't sure if he could do this.
"Pete, it'll be okay," Bucky mumbled as they made their way in.
Taking a shaky breath Peter nodded and pulled the mask back over his face. He was planning on revealing his identity, but he wanted to see what everyone was like before he made the decision.
As they walked in, Peter was shocked at just how many people were actually here. They were all there, sitting on sofas and talking to one and another, but when they heard people approaching, they all looked over.
On instinct, Peter moved a little closer to Bucky.
Peters eyes scanned over everyone and looked at all of them. Scarlet witch (Miss Wanda), and Black Widow (Miss Natasha) were talking to one and another. Hawkeye (Mr Clint), Falcon (Mr Sam) and Ant-Man (Mr Scott), were all talking to one and another. All their conversations ended however when they saw Peter.
Natasha stood from her seat and looked at them all with calculating eyes, "I know you said you were going to find Spider-Man Cap, but I didn't think that meant going off and bringing him back here," Natasha voiced.
Peter shrank back at the words and Bucky moved a little closer to him so he knew he wasn't alone.
"I also thought this was meant to be a secret," Clint pointed out.
Steve raised his hands a little in surrender while responding, "back down okay. He knows Bucky and we thought it would be nice for him to be able to come here."
While Wanda, Scott and Sam all looked at each other in confusion, Clint and Natasha made eye contact and realisation sparked in their eyes.
"Oh my God, we were right," Natasha smirked, a look of pride taking over her face.
Steve frowned and Bucky sighed while shaking his head. Of course the two spies have been trying to work out what it was that was happening to Bucky.
"What?" Steve questioned.
Clint and Natasha looked at one and another before Clint began to talk. "We noticed something was up with Bucky. He wasn't his normal brooding self. He was actually showing emotion, and when it came to Spider-Man, it was there. So Tasha and I thought the two of them might know each other."
Steve shook his head and moved to allow more of a view of Peter.
"Anyway, guys. Meet Spider-Man."
Peter brought a shaky hand up and waved a little before mumbling a small hi.
Straight away, they all knew there was something different about Spider-Man, he didn't seem like someone who was bad, nor did he sound like someone who would try to hurt one of them.
They all went around and introduced themselves, using both their names and their hero names. Once they had all done it, Peter couldn't help but feel a little better and as though he was welcomed here. He glanced at Bucky, who seemed to know what he was thinking before mouthing, 'you can trust them. You can trust me.'
Shaking hands reached for his mask and without letting himself think too much about it, he pulled it off.
"I'm- I'm Peter Parker."

An hour later, they were all sat around one and another talking. Peter had one of Steve's hoodies on as he got pretty cold after a little bit. Like expected, Peter didn't call any of them by their names, only Bucky, everyone else was either Miss (name) or Mr (name).
They learnt a little about him, where he goes to school, his age, best friend. Not much about his family, only that he lost his parents and uncle and now lives with his... Aunt. (Peter had cringed internally when he said that, after all, May was nothing to him, but he couldn't let them know that.)
Everyone had quickly warmed up to him, and he couldn't help but think this was more of a home then his was now.
"Hey Pete, if you ever want, you can come here. I know you normally go to wherever it is Bucky goes to, but we would be happy to have you here," Natasha spoke, everyone nodding along in agreement.
Peter glanced at everyone around him, they all had similar looks on their faces and were nodding and smiling.
"Are you- are you sure?" Peter whispered, hoping this wasn't some sick joke.
"We mean it Kid. You're a good kid and you're not annoying. Clint is more annoying, so we would happily have you around," Sam voiced. "And if not, I think robo here wouldn't be too happy with us," Scott added in with a laugh, which quickly died in his throat when he saw the look Bucky shot him.
"Really Peter, you're nice to have around, and we would happily have you around," Wanda said.
Peter took a moment before nodding. It would take time for him to feel comfortable. But he hoped everything would be okay.
He also hoped they wouldn't hate him for knowing Tony as well. The same for Tony. If he lost it all, once he knew what it was like to feel happy and safe. He didn't think he would be able to cope anymore.
"Thank you," Peter smiled, finally feeling like maybe things might be going in his favour. He was finally beginning to find some sort of family, but knowing his luck. He would lose it all.
