My Brother, The Devil
I gasped and sat up, blinking at the morning sun. I winced and rubbed my head. I'd had that dream again! I've been having similar dreams almost every night. Those people....I know them! They look familular. I blinked at the morning sun. "Hey Collin, your up." I turned and smiled at my companion. "Morning Piper." She started to smile, but then seemed to notice my mood. "Collin, what's wrong?" I shook my head. "Nothing." She frowned but didn't push me. "We better pack up camp. We're only a few miles from my home." I nodded. "Alright." I started to roll up my sleeping bag. A few minutes later the camp was clean. I slung my backpack over my shoulder. Piper nodded at me, and we walked on.
Time Skip
"Hey Collin." I squinted at Piper. "Ya?" She hesitated. "Were are you from?" I frowned. "I don't remember." I said, walking ahead. She followed. "What do you mean?!?" She demanded. I shrugged. "I don't have any memories. The last thing I remember is waking up in the woods about a week ago." She frowned. "Oh. That's....not natural." I snorted. "Tell me about it." She sighed. "So you really don't remember anything? Nothing at all?" I paused. Should I tell her about the dreams? I don't see why not. Maybe she knows something. "Well," I said hesitantly, "I do have dreams. A hyprid. Some friends looking for me." I studied her. "Their names are Grayson and Luke. Do you know them?" Piper shook her head. "I don't think so. Grayson sounds kinda familiar, though. Can't place it. Maybe my brother will know." I blinked. "You never told me you had a brother." She shrugged. "Ya. His name's Jason." I raised an eyebrow. "Grayson, Jason." Piper started to laugh. "Maybe that's why Grayson's name sounds familiar. It sounds like my brother's!" I laughed. "Maybe. I.." My voice trailed off as I thought about my brother, his light blue eyes filled with fear. Piper frowned. "What is it?" I sighed. "I have a little brother." I told her softly. She blinked. "Really? What's his name?" I frowned. "I....I wish I could remember." She stared at me. "You don't remember his name?" I shook my head. "I can't imagine what that's like." She said softly. I sighed. "No, you can't." We continued to walk. Soon we came across what looked like...burned ground. "What's this?" I muttered, running ahead. "Collin!" Piper called, running after me. I stopped when I saw the remains of a burnt building. The ground was burnt black. A burnt bridge stretched across to burnt building inside a mountain. I started to walk past the house. What I saw below terrified me. Skulls on staffs lined the ground. To my left, a a statue, burnt beyond recognition. A sign on the pestle read: our savior and protecter. To my right...was a statue of my brother. His clothes were torn, his hair black, and he had a white eye. But I recognized him. He pointed a sword to the ground victoriously. Piper walked up beside me. "The Man From The Statues. He did this." I shook my head. "No. He couldn't off. He would never..," I sat on the ground and started to cry. Piper sat next to me. "I know. It's horrible. No one even knows who he is. He's The Silent Killer. He never makes a sound." I shook my head. His eye....it was white. Like....The Mans. My clone. No no thinking of that man. Still, my eyes searched the horizon for any sign of him. "What's wrong?" I turned to Piper. "Piper," I said staring at the statue. "That's my brother." She stared at me. "What?" I nodded. "I don't remember his name, but I'm sure that's him." Piper shook her head. "Collin, if that's true... We need to get your memory back. There could be some info on how to kill him" I stared at her. "Kill my brother? No. There's got to be another way!" She shook her head. "Collin, your brothers a killer. A demon. He can't be human. He summons fire and lightning. Maybe he was human once, but not anymore. He can't be reasoned with. Anyone who so much as gets a glimpse of him dies. He has to be stopped." I sighed. How could that scared little boy I knew be so heartless? And were did the white eye come from? I sighed. "I don't know..." Piper sighed. "I'm sorry about your brother, Collin. Maybe your right, maybe there is a way to convince him." But I could see in her eyes she didn't believe it. "Cone on," she said, gently pulling me away from the statue. "I think I know a way to get your memory back."
I stared at her. "Really? How?" She smiled. "At my home, I have a friend who specializes in magic and unnatural things. His name is Notch." I stared at her. "Notch? That sounds familiar." She smiled. "I'm not surprised. He is a god, after all." I frowned. "Alright. Let's go." We continued to walk.
