"I don't see why I need 7 notebooks," Adira huffed as her mom practically dragged her throughout the department store, searching for all the correct supplies for the new school year.

"Ooh! Look at this," her mom said holding up a rainbow frilly dress with lace sleeves.

"Eww, mom! No! That looks like a unicorn barfed all over an already ugly dress!"

Her mom sighed, hanging the dress back onto the shelf before walking in another direction towards the jeans.

Adira grabbed a belt off of the rack and brought it over to her mom, who was now wooing over a teal blouse and jean skirt combo.

Adira sighed and dropped the belt into the cart on top of her binders. The metal of the buckle clashed into the bars of the cart, sending an echoing metal against metal sound throughout the whole store. Waking her mom from her daze and causing her to drop the outfit she was holding into the cart and walk away.

Adira didn't even try to argue. She decided she would wear it a couple of times even to make her mom happy.

After they finished shopping, they had gone to a small Chinese Restaurant to get some lunch.

"Wake me up at 2," her mom said to her groggily as she headed towards her bedroom.

"Okay. Will do," Adira said before opening her laptop and logging into her Email account to send a few messages off to her public school friends she had met at riding camp the year before.
