14-Wait, So is He Horny All the Time?

Chapter Fourteen
Wait, So is He Horny All the Time?

"There you go, little guy." I gently placed the small kitten back on the ground. I patted his small head as he meowed before running off.

I could hear faint panting coming from behind me, so I turned around to see a guy in lime green spandex, jogging over to the tree where I stood.

He came to a stop beside me, and placed his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath.

"That," he said in between breaths as he pointed an accusing finger to at me, "was my job."

"Well you weren't here to do your job, so I decided to rescue that kitten—who was hanging from that tree branch with his small paws, may I add— on my own," I gave him a pointed look.

He threw his hands up in the air. "I'm sorry I can't fly or run at the speed of light!"

"Who are you again," I raised an eyebrow at him.

He gave me a look, almost as if he was insulted that it wasn't obvious.

"Beast!" He cried. "I'm Beast!"

"Okay then, Beast," I licked my lips, "what exactly do you do?"

"I talk to animals," he shrugged.

"That's it?" I queried.

"Yeah," he thought for a moment, "pretty much," he nodded.

"So basically you're telling me that you're a dog whisperer?"

He shook his head, paused, then nodded. "Okay, I see where you're coming from. But if you must put it that way then I would be an animal whisperer."

"How does that power work?" I shook my head, "what would you have done for that poor kitten? Convince her to come down?"

His eyes narrowed and he crossed his arms. "Maybe."

I let out a small chuckle. "So you're an animal counsellor?"

"No I'm not!" He defended.

"Don't worry," I assured him, "it's alright, it's cute."

He let out an exaggerated sigh and crossed his arms as he glared at me.

"I'm leaving," he turned around and stomped off, leaving me at the tree.

"Who was that?"

I jumped a bit at the sound of her voice. I looked over my shoulder to see Luna as she watched Beast walk away.

"Some Super I just met," I told her.

She didn't say anything so I looked back at her to see a look of discomfort on her face, and then I felt it too.

"Henderson Park," She commented, and I nodded.

Henderson Park? Again? I thought.

Hopefully it's not Graeme again.

"Want a ride there?" She asked me but I shook my head with a yawn.

"I'm getting tired," I told her honestly, "Do you think you could handle it on your own?"

"Of course," She smiled, "Plus, there will probably be other Supers on their way."

I nodded. "Most likely."

"Well if you're not coming, so you want a ride home?" She asked me but I shook my head.

"I don't want to keep you," My friend opened her mouth to say something but I spoke before she could, "I can walk home. I'm a Super. You're a Super. Supers can handle themselves."

She gave me a bland look but I laughed at her anyway. "It's okay, seriously."

"You sure?" She asked again and I nodded.

"Super duper sure." I assured her and she smiled.

"I'll see you in the morning," She told me before gently floating off in the direction of Henderson Park.

I too, started off in the direction of our apartment, per usual unless I got a ride. The roads were dark, the only light coming from the lampposts. The streets were empty and quiet, except for the sound of my footsteps.

But suddenly there was a gust of wind, which caused my hair to sway, and a sound of feet behind me.

I whipped around, expecting to see either Static or Slick, when all I saw was my ex-boyfriend.

For a moment I just stared at him. He wasn't dressed in his Super Suit. Instead he was dressed in his usual attire, wearing a white V-neck paired with khakis.

"Sky," He said, and made no move to step forward but instead smiled softly at me.

"Gray," I whispered, my mind buzzing with confusion.

He scratched the back of his neck. "I haven't apologized yet," He looked me in the eyes, "so i'm here now to tell you that I am so sorry for what I did." He shook his head in shame, his eyes glistening.

He took a step forward, but I took a step back.

He ran a hand through his messy hair. "You can be mad at me. I'm not here asking for your forgiveness. I just want you to hear me out." I stayed quiet.

"Maybe it won't mean anything to you," He told me, " But I love you. I still love you. I love you so much, and please don't forget that."

I took a deep breath and swallowed as I looked him up and down. "Aren't you going to tell me why you did it?" I whispered.

"I thought about telling you, but then I realized it wouldn't matter to you, "he admitted, "All that matters to you is that I betrayed you, and I broke your trust. The reason I did so would be the least of your worries."

I didn't say anything. Mostly because I didn't know what to say. He was right. It didn't matter to me why he did it, all that matters is that it happened. He's right because he knows me, and he knows me because he loves me and I know there's still a part of me that loves him too.

"Can you still tell me why you did it though?" I asked, because I was still curious as to what would drive him to hurt me like that.

He pursed his lips and looked down at his feet.

"I've known Katrina for a long time," I nodded because it was true. He grew up with her. "So she just asked me to come over to comfort her because she and Noah had a fight or something," He shrugged, "and I don't know why it happened, but for some reason I ended up sleeping with her."

I didn't say anything. What was I supposed to say? 'Oh yeah, you took pity on her so you banged her?'

I let out a humorless laugh. "If you're so sorry then why were you two having dinner that night?"

"You thought we were on a date, didn't you?" He let out a humorless laugh. "We were out together that night because we had to figure out how we were going to deal with this all. I guess when you and Noah saw us together it gave you two quite the wrong impression," he smiled slightly and shook his head, "That was quite something you two pulled back there."

My mouth twisted into a small smile as I remembered Noah and I's stunt.

Grayson's smile faded slightly, "What were you two doing there together?"

I hesitated before telling him the truth. "Audrey set the two of us up on a blind date."

He didn't say anything. Instead he just nodded.

"You don't have to agree, because I'm a total dick, and a jerk" He said, "But would you like to go out tomorrow? It doesn't even have to be a date."

"I already have plans." I told him. "Sorry." I added.

"With who?" He asked.

I bit my lip. "Sam."

Grayson sucked in a breath and pinched the bridge of his nose as I stood in front of him, waiting for him to lash out.

After ten seconds, he looked back at me with a sad smile.

"Could I at least give you a fly home?" He asked me.

I sighed and shrugged. "Sure, I guess."

He smiled slightly and placed a foot forward, silently asking if he could pick me up. I nodded. He softly picked me up, making sure not to touch me too much, and took off.

The flight was short and quiet. Neither of us said a word as we passed the familiar buildings and sights, while the skies we flew through held so many memories.

The balcony which connected to our living room came into sight. Grayson gently landed and put me down.

"Have a good night, Skylar," He pressed a soft kiss to my forehead. Sneaky bastard.

"Be safe." Before I could open my mouth to give him some snarky remark, he was already in the air.

"You said that already," I grumbled and trotted back into the apartment, trying not to make any noise.

Grayson used to always show that he cared. Until he went psycho and slept with his childhood friend who was in a RELATIONSHIP, may I add. But his affection now shows me that he cares. At least in that moment he did. I don't think I was really on his mind while he was banging Katrina.

Maybe he's bipolar. But bipolar disorder wouldn't exactly fit that scenario. Multiple personality disorder? So I guess some part of him cares? The other part wants to bang Katrina again? Wait, what if in his 'caring' state he's actually just horny? No, he must be horny when he's in his 'psycho' state too because he banged our friend. Wait, so is he horny all the time? OH MY GOODNESS. Does him being horny all the time mean he is constantly masturbating? But he has to continuously save the city. Whoa, what if he has this machine that he puts in his suit so it masturbates for him? Is that what he always has a big bulge? WHERE ARE THESE THOUGHTS COMING FROM? THIS IS MY EX WE ARE TALKING ABOUT. I BLAME YOU, READER. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO ATTRACTED TO THAT ASSHAT?

I came to a halt when I stepped into my room because honestly, what the fuck is wrong with me?

I shook my head to get rid of my thoughts. Once I was changed into my pajamas I shook my head again to make sure those thoughts were out of my head and never, ever coming back.

I snuggled into my sheets and let my mind wander as I waited to fall asleep. I thought about Josh Hutcherson, Andrew Garfield and many other boys. Does anyone else do that when they sleep? Where they just dive into fantasy land? Other times I'm just like go the fuck to sleep.

Well I was in the middle of a very heated make out session with Tom Holland when some fucking asshole interrupted my lucid dream by banging into my dresser.

"shit," the guy said and I sat straight up because no one interrupts my make out sessions.

"Fuck you," I spat, "You fucking idiot. He was just about to take his shirt off ."

"Jesus, Sky," He muttered, "what the fuck are you on about?"

Static was looking at me like I was crazy which was probably true. After watching Gold Cape's uncomfortable speech I decided to drink three coffees. That's probably why I'm acting like Grayson; horny.

Snap out of it, snap out of it, snap out of it. WooOOoo. You are being delUUUsional.

I rubbed my eyes. "I'm on a caffeine rush, sorry," I apologized.

"Uh, okay." He nodded and stood there uncomfortably.

"What are you doing here?" I yawned.

"Uh," he scratched the back of his neck. " Sometimes I come so I can watch you sleep."

My eyes widened at his words but I laughed it off despite the knot in my stomach.

"What's wrong?" He changed the subject.

I clicked my tongue and shrugged. "I never said something was."

"Maybe not, but it sure looks like something is," He told me.

I closed my eyes and rubbed my temples."It's just boy trouble, that's all."

He paused. "Come," He held out his hand to me.

I raised my eyebrows and stared at his raised hand. "Where."

He tilted his head to smile and flashed me his famous happy-go-lucky-grin. "For another midnight ride."

He gently took my small hand in his and pulled be out of my bed. I shook my head at him and smiled.

"You shouldn't have done that. What If i was naked?" I chuckled.

He did a one-shoulder shrug. "Well you're not." He replied while he scooped me up in his arms and gently leaped out the window.

He smiled at me while I laughed as the wind blew against my face, singing in my ears. We were high up in the could, and the city below us felt years away.

"Is this cheering you up?" Static asked me over the wind.

"Very much," I laughed.

Static slowly came to a halt as he approached King's Tower, and the wind started to die down as it no longer was blowing through my air.

Static's feet landed gracefully onto the rooftop, near the edge of the tall building. He gently let me down, and I planted my feet to the ground and tightly grasped Static's arm so that I wouldn't fall as I peeked over the ledge.

The tower gave off a beautiful view of the city. Not as incredible as being in the sky, but still beautiful. I would love to move into one of the apartments across the street someday, because waking up to this view would be a highlight.

"You like this?" He asked me and nodded his chin the direction of the bright buildings.

"It's breathtaking," I breathed, clearly at loss for words.

Static recklessly took a step onto the thin edge, causing my attention to snap from the sight to him as my hands slid down from his forearm to his hand. I clinged tightly, not willing myself to move closer.

"It's okay," he assured me, his eyes sparkling from the city light. "I've got you."

My eyes snapped to his and narrowed as I held his hand tighter. "Don't let go."

He shook his head. "Never."

I inhaled and but my lip before taking a hesitant step onto the ledge, where Static already stood with ease. I watched my feet carefully, making sure not to lose my balance.

"Don't be afraid," he told me as my eyes met his again. "I'm here. I won't let you go."

"Promise?" I asked him.

"Promise."

I nodded and took a last step so that my two feet were standing on the small ledge.

"You're safe," He assured me, and I nodded in agreement. "Now jump."

My head whipped to the side, causing me to sway and lose my balance in the process.

"Whoa," Static steadied me by grabbing my waist with one hand, still holding my other hand with his.

Once I was stable, I faced him with my eyes wide. "What do you mean, 'jump?' Are you crazy?" I exclaimed.

"I told you," he said in a soothing voice, "I won't let go."

I continued to stare at him. Jump? He's insane.

"Trust me," he whispered.

So I did.

I faced the open space in front of me, closed me eyes and jumped.

I made sure to pay attention to the fact that Static never actually did let go of me hand. Instead, he quickly wrapped me into his arms.

My back faced the ground as we free-fell, the wind causing my hair to whip my face.

"Static!" I yelled at him in panic.

"I told you to trust me," I could hear the playful smirk on his voice.

"Exactly, I trust you!" I retorted, "so I trust you to do something before we die!"

I could feel us nearing the ground, and I braced myself for the impact. But in one swift motion we were no longer spiraling towards earth, instead we were flying parallel to it.

My whole body relaxed, and soon stiffened with rage.

"You're an idiot," although my head was buried in his chest, I tried my best to pound my fist against his arm.

I could feel his laugh vibrate throughout his body, causing a smile to tug at my lips. He slowed and swiftly flew us back up to the tower.

He placed me back down and I shook out my weak legs. I was still in slight shock at what happened, but the adrenaline rush still ran through my body.

Once I wasn't completely shaken, I made the bold move to kick Static in the shin.

"Ow," Static said, although it didn't look like I hurt him considering he carried a devilish grin and barley flinched at my touch.

"You're sneaky, you know that?" I crossed my arms.

"Maybe I should be the one named Slick," he joked.

"Yeah, no," I broke out into a small laugh as I shook my head.

"It would suit me though, wouldn't it?" He shrugged jokingly and I turned to sit on the ledge.

"No name will change the fact that I'm a bad guy," I heard him mutter under his breath. But when I turned around to interject, he had a big smile plastered on his face, ready to change the subject.

***

Okay so I really feel like I've been focusing on quantity over quality, and I really want to change that. I've decided to spend more time writing the chapters so they're at their best, and like I've said before I'm planning on going over the other chapters and fixing them up.

Other than that, hoped you guys enjoyed this!

Question—I've never really asked you guys, but who do you think is Static? c;

with love
