    "Namjoon?"

"You have a minute to talk?"

Jeongguk glances at Yoongi cautiously, his eyes flickering back to Namjoon. "U-Uhm~"

"You still have twenty minutes until your next appointment, Jeongguk," Yoongi says, smiling and winking subtly.

Jeongguk refrains from glaring at him before smiling softly at Namjoon. "You can follow me, Namjoon." He says before turning and leading the way. He tries not to fidget as he leads him to his room, but he can't help it. He shuts the door after Namjoon walks in, watching his expression closely as he scans the room. "Do you want to sit~"

"Here is fine," Namjoon says facing him, crossing his arms as he looks down at him slightly.

"What can I do for you?" Jeongguk asks, using the sweet tone he always puts on when he's working. He smiles softly, making himself as approachable as possible.

"Have you fucked my boyfriend?" Namjoon asks straightforwardly, his expression hard to read.

"I'm sorry, Namjoon, I'm not allowed to disclose anything about my sessions with Taehyung." Jeongguk answers. "Confidentiality is a huge part of what we do here. But if you and Taehyung wanted, I could see you both together. We take couples as well."

Jeongguk continues to smile as Namjoon looks him up and down. "I want you to stop seeing him."

"That's completely out of my jurisdiction, Namjoon, I'm sorry." He says apologetically. "I can assure you that my relationship with Taehyung is strictly professional. I can send you a copy of our contract if it will ease your mind."

"So you're telling me you haven't thought about screwing him?"

He doesn't mean to hesitate, but his voice gets caught in his throat. He knows he's waited too long to respond when Namjoon scoffs. "I-I understand how intimidating this entire situation can be~"

"You think I'm intimidated by you?" Namjoon asks, chuckling dryly in disbelief. "You don't get it, Jeongguk, I've known Taehyung for years. This little game he's playing with you~"

"I'm his therapist, Namjoon~"

"He's played with me before too. He's just looking for someone to fix him, that's all. The second you show him any kind of affection he clings to you like a lost puppy."

Jeongguk swallows to refrain from losing his composure. "I understand that you love him very much. I think one thing we both can agree on is that we want the best for him."

"You can keep up this act as long as you want, Jeongguk, I see right through you." Namjoon says, his glare piercing as he looks at Jeongguk. "You need to end whatever this is before it gets out of hand. Got it?"

"Is that all, Namjoon?" Jeongguk asks, tilting his head attentively. "I would love to continue this conversation but I'd like to get ready for my next client."

"End it," Namjoon says brushing past him to the door. "I mean it."

"Namjoon," He says turning to him. "If you really wanted the best for Taehyung you'd let him make his own decisions. No matter what the outcome means for you."

He doesn't respond, shooting Jeongguk one last glare before leaving the room.

Jeongguk sighs, relaxing his shoulders and running his fingers through his hair. He wanted to say so much more. But he knew telling Namjoon off would only escalate the situation.

That, and he didn't want to risk making Taehyung upset.

He was used to having to be levelheaded and calm, even when he felt the complete opposite inside.

~

Taehyung drags himself out of bed to get the door, frowning as his feet drag the ground.

"Who is it?" He grumbles when he's halfway there, not receiving an answer in response. He unlocks the door, snatching it open expecting to see him mom or his sister. His eyes widen when he locks eyes with Jeongguk, shutting the door before he can take in his disheveled appearance.

"Taehyung?" He asks in confusion from the other side of the door.

"Jeongguk, w-what the hell are you doing here? It's almost midnight." Taehyung says as he scurries to pick up his clothes from around the living room.

"I was worried about you," Jeongguk says, his voice muffled through the door. "I tried to call but you didn't answer. I have to talk to you about something."

"Uhm," Taehyung starts, throwing his clothes and a few other things in the supply closet in the hall before rushing to get the door. He pulls it open before continuing. "About what? It couldn't wait until the morning."

"No," Jeongguk says looking at him. "I mean, yeah, it can. But I rather tell you now...if you aren't busy."

"I'm not, I've been asleep all day so I'm wide awake." Taehyung chuckles, stepping to the side and letting him in. "You look upset, what's wrong?"

"Namjoon came by while I was working today," Jeongguk says facing him. "He was kind of upset."

"He did?" Taehyung asks, frowning in disbelief. "I'm so sorry, Jeongguk, I'll talk to him as soon as I can. I have no idea why he did that."

"I think I need to recommend you to a different surrogate partner, Taehyung," Jeongguk says with a bit of a reluctance in his tone. "I don't want to get in the way of your personal relationships."

Taehyung deflates at the mention of a different surrogate. "W-What?"

Jeongguk sighs, looking down in thought before meeting his eyes and continuing. "I don't know what my intentions are when it comes to you."

"What do you mean?" Taehyung asks. "Did I do something?"

"No, Taehyung, you didn't." Jeongguk says. "It's nothing you did, it's my fault."

"I'm not following, Jeongguk," Taehyung says stepping towards him. "Did Namjoon say something?"

"No," Jeongguk says looking down, avoiding his eyes. "I don't know what's going on with me lately. But I just...I can't think clearly when I'm around you anymore. I can't focus on what I'm supposed to be doing. I can't focus on helping you...All I can think about is my feelings for you."

Taehyung is caught off guard by the confession. "Your feelings for me?"

"I'm never like this, Taehyung," Jeongguk says looking up at him with a pitiful expression. "I'm never unprofessional like this. But it's like I can't help it with you. It's not fair to you for me to be like this. Which is why I think it's best if we stop seeing each other."

"Jeongguk," Taehyung starts, stepping forward again only for Jeongguk to step back.

"I don't want either of us to get hurt, Taehyung," He says. "I don't want you to lose Namjoon and I don't want to lose my job. I just want you to get the help you're looking for, and I can't help you. I'm too selfish now, my motives are selfish. I want you for me...and that's not fair."

Taehyung looks at Jeongguk with a conflicting look in his eyes. A million different thoughts running through his head.

"I terminated our contract, Jimin knows." Jeongguk says swallowing hard. "He'll set you in the right direction, you'll be in good hands. I promise." He nods. "I'm glad I got to meet you, Taehyung. Good luck with everything."

"Jeongguk," Taehyung says as he walks past him to the door. "Jeongguk, please." He says grabbing his arm, making him face him. "What? Are you breaking up with me?"

Jeongguk shakes his head, looking down as Taehyung pulls him closer. "I can't, Taehyung."

"No?" He says taking his face in his hands and making him look at him. "Who's stopping you?"

Despite everything in him telling him to pull away he finds himself leaning towards Taehyung, his eyes falling shut as their lips meet. When he kisses Taehyung it's like all the internal conflict he feels disappears for a moment. Even though deep down he knows he shouldn't, it feels good in the moment.

He pulls away before Taehyung deepens the kiss, taking his arms from around his neck. He squeezes his hands before pulling away completely. "Bye, Taehyung."

"I want to see you again," Taehyung says before he leaves. "I'm not ready to lose you, Jeongguk."

"Figure things out with Namjoon," Jeongguk says looking at him, smiling softly. "You shouldn't throw away your relationship because of me."

Taehyung watches him leave, a foreign feeling swelling in his chest as the door shuts behind him.

He knew the right thing to do would be to work things out with Namjoon, he knew that was the realistic thing to do.

But all he could think about was Jeongguk in this moment. All he could think about was the pain behind his eyes as he told him they couldn't see each other anymore.

He wanted to hold on to this relationship he was forming with Jeongguk...even if that meant letting Namjoon go.
