7. D R A G O N S

Ari POV

The bed was warm, different to basically everything in the cold peaks of Rivendale. Sleep was drifting in and out, a small doze that comes when you haven't been in bed for that long. A single sound you didn't expect could drag you out of it by the scruff of your neck. You get what I mean?

The fire in the room crackled, a dull orange glow filling the air. Something strange shifting in the atmosphere, but my half conscious brain didn't register it. Instead, I curled deeper into the blankets, burying my face into the fluff.

A wave of red light shot through the room, causing my to shoot up. I knew something was up, and I immediately grabbed my communicator and the Rune Blade, sitting on the edge of the bed.

Aeron: Somethings wrong

Aeron: Did anyone see that red aurora just now?

Ari: Yeah, woke me up. Ya think that's what we were called for?

I punched my response in, tucking brown waves behind my ear

Hyperion: I dunno but I wanna punt it >:]

Aeron: HYPERION NO

Darcy: HYPERION YES

Ari: Is Cas up?

Caspian: Present

I shifted to the Desert Rose alliance chat, so as not to scare everyone else.

Ari: Screw the fact it's 3am, meeting now?

Aeron: The one at mine?

Ari: Naturally

Aeron: I'll set up the meeting room. @Darcy @Tsuki @Ari how long do you think it'll take for you guys to get here?

Caspian: I'm already here :D

Aeron: I know, sweetie

[Aeron deleted a message]

Hyperion: How dare you not ask how long it will take me :0

Aeron: Bitch you're literally right next to me, I know how long it will take for you to get here, dumbass

Aeron: Dipshit, fuckbucket, how long will it take for you to get here?

Tsuki: Probably 30 minutes to an hour :3

Ari: I mean, yeah probably. if we use the dragons I found

Tsuki: DRAGONS?!

Ari: You can have two :/

Darcy: ANYGAYS

Darcy: We'll head off now, so get the snackies ready :D

I stood up, pulling on my casual clothes because, to be honest, it's 3am and I'm riding a dragon, I'm not wearing my royal robes. Shoving the Rune Blade in the sheath on my back, I ran down the stairs three at a time to get to Darcy and Tsuki before they accidentally blow the stables up.

Grabbing the key I haphazardly shoved it into the lock for the stable, pushing the door open, beckoning Tsuki and Darcy in.

I gestured to the 7 dragons in there, two were bright purple, two deep red, a green one, a yellow one, and one that was beautifully cyan. "Pick a dragon and get on. I was planning on giving you all one either way."

Tsuki jumped on the bigger purple one, placing it's dark oak staff into the small holder in the saddle. Darcy stroked the scales of a smaller red one, smiling as it almost purred. He jumped on, leaving me to get on the cyan one, smiling as it's smooth blue scales shifted slightly under my fingers.

"Should we fly with the other three?" I gestured back at the four dragons behind me, but Tsuki's already coming back to get it's other purple one I had promised.

"If you can fly with 3 extra dragons in tow, then sure!" Tsuki smiled, a twinkle in their eyes as they looked behind them.

I clicked my tongue as we trotted out the huge stable doors, the three dragons meant for the others followed. We took off, the wind in my hair a comfort that I hadn't expected to find in such a dark situation.

The moon lit our travel, the dull flaps of our dragon's wings filling the otherwise silent air. The wind whistled in my ears. I looked backwards at the triangle like formation we had, Tsuki and it's dragon, along with Darcy and his were directly behind me, the other three dragons behind them.

I was the one to speak up, shouting back over the wind. "SO WHY DOES AERON CALL YOU TWO DIPSHIT AND FUCKBUCKET?"

Darcy chuckled, I didn't understand the joke. "IF AERO GIVES YOU A SWEARY NICKNAME, IT MEANS THEY TRUST YOU. ONLY THREE OF US DO."

Tsuki shouted, pointing downwards. "HELIANTHIA, DOWN THERE."

I pulled on my dragon's reigns, sending her into a dive downwards. I didn't look behind me, but I knew the other 5 dragons had followed suit.

Just before we hit the ground, I pulled up, landing a smooth touchdown and dismounting. Aeron was waiting for us, a cold look on their face. Her arms were folded over each other, black hair flowing in the wind.

Their tone was chilling, serious and blunt.

"We need to talk."
