Chapter 7
3rd Perspective
"Wait, you met Bossk?" Ezra shouted in surprise.
"Yes Master, I've said this before." Liz told him. Ezra's eyebrows rose.
"You have?"
"Yes, I have," Liz growled. Ezra avoided eye contact with her.
"So, this Bossk guy. What did he do to you?" Zander grew concerned.
"He did nothing to me Zander."
"Then how did you end up a bounty hunter? I'm pretty sure he has something to do with that," Zander looked her straight in the eyes.
"Calm down, he did have something to do with me becoming a bounty hunter," Zander sighed loudly. Liz continued anyways. "But let me explain why I became one in the first place."
*Beginning of flashback*
Bossk told Liz that he was going to ask a few questions. After all the questions were answered, Bossk found out that there was an Imperial tower full of information for his assassination.
"Alright," Liz stood up from the small chair Bossk made her sit on. "Where are my credits?"
"Credits?" Bossk asked.
"Yes, my credits. I helped you out now you can give me my credits you promised." Liz was worried it was about to become a rip off and he was not going to pay her. She still had her accent, she couldn't get rid of it. Even thought she tried.
"You are still not done helping me," he replied, harshly.
Bossk told Liz she was going be a distraction for him. Liz was worried once more. He didn't tell her about this.
"This isn't part of the deal!" Liz shouted at Bossk. He ignored her and walked away. He started the ship and went to the place Liz told him about the Imperial tower. This is felt like the time her parents got tricked. That must be the feeling of being lied to.
She didn't care, she just wanted the credits, Liz would do whatever it took to get the credits, and never see Bossk again. Or if he offered more credits then yes, she would be happy to see him again.
'Why am I sounding like a bounty hunter? Ugh, this is all getting to my head.'
Bossk told Liz she was going to distract the stormtrooper guards as a lost little girl. While he, will be entering the tower. Simple plan, but there are many risks of being caught red handed. Liz walked to the four stormtroopers, her legs were wobbly, her hands were shaking. Feeling paranoid that if it did go wrong that Bossk will just leave her there and not help her like he promised.
"Excuse me, sir?" Liz tried to act scared. It wasn't hard, she was scared.
"What?" The trooper replied harshly. Liz jumped back.
"Don't be hard on her John," the trooper behind him pushed him out of the way. "She's just a little girl."
"Fine." he replied, yet again, harshly.
"I lost my way parents and well, I lost track on where I was going, I got lost and ended up here," Liz quivered.
All the four stormtroopers were now looking her way, surrounding her. Very easily, Bossk was able to sneak in.
"Oh don't worry, we will help you," the guy that shouted at John, told her. Liz was holding back a laugh. She couldn't believe they fell for it.
"Thank you. You are very kind." The stormtrooper nodded. He took Liz's hand and was about to bring her to the tower. Liz panicked, Bossk still wasn't out.
"Wait, wait!" Liz yelled at them. They stopped walking, all of them did. The guy, known as John, rolled his eyes. She could sense it. "Aren't you going to at least alarm the other troopers on patrol here to be on the look at for worried parents?"
Liz tried to sound convincing. The stormtroopers looked at each other.
"Alright, Robert alarm a few other troopers for a look out for her troubling parents." A stormtrooper ordered. Robert nodded.
Bossk left the building in a hurry, he was running towards her. She wasn't confused, he got caught. Seconds later, more stormtroopers came out of the building shooting at him. The stormtroopers helping her turned around to a Tradoshon running full speed at them. They also started shooting at him. Bossk started shoot at them as well. One went down next to Liz's feet.
She wanted to scream, but she didn't. She needed to help Bossk. Liz took the blaster from the dead trooper, her hands were shaking. The stormtroopers were looking the other way, she had a clear shot to their heads. She didn't want to, not after the guy and Robert tried helping her.
"I'm sorry," Liz whispered. Three shots came out of the blaster she was holding. An echo was made from it. All three troopers fell to the ground. Blood leaking out the back of their heads. Liz felt disgusted on what she saw, but didn't feel like throwing up. Bossk shot the remaining two on his side.
"Hmh," Bossk muffled walking to her. "That seems pretty brutal for a girl your age."
"I know," Liz looked down at the dead bodies, she felt cold inside. "I shouldn't have done it."
Bossk shook his head in disagreement, "What are talking about? You helped me out, besides these people were pretending to help you. After they found your 'parents' they would have forgotten your face by then and wish they would never see you again."
"Really?" Liz looked to him. Bossk put his scaly hand on her shoulder.
"Really." Bossk felt weird. He has never showed this type of compassion to someone or ever at all. Bossk thought this might be a different person. "Now, let's go. The Empire is on their way here."
He grabbed her wrist and dragged her quickly to his ship.
"Did you get what you wanted?" Liz asked out of no where.
"Yes I did." Bossk showed her the chip full of information.
"That's good. Or else all this trouble we caused would be useless," Liz responded. Liz still had the blaster she took from the trooper. She kept it because she felt like she would need it in the future.
"Why do you still have that?" Bossk asked her.
"It's the only thing that will protect me since I don't know how to defend myself, this thing will. Besides, after you give me the credits I will be off, right? You don't want an me, an eleven year old, running around your ship that doesn't know how to take down a person without a gun or someone to help me out," Liz stood up from a crate he had inside his ship. "Well, I should be off. I wouldn't want to keep you waiting for your assassination."
Liz could now say the word assassination easily. She didn't fear it, she didn't know why she feared it in the first place. It sounds complicated and dangerous to do, it sounded exciting. Being a bounty hunter sounds like an amazing job. Not knowing where you will go for your target, gaining money for hunting people down.
Sounds exciting enough for her. Most people would go to jail for that, but bounty hunters is a different story. They gain money and fame for that, more people around the galaxy will start to fear them. Yet again, they have to be stealthy and well trained to do those types of things.
Always being cautious not to be caught or else, they're dead. Liz already has the cautious part down, the rest, not even in the plam of her hands.
'What am I thinking?' Liz thought. 'Me, be a bounty hunter? Ha, in my dreams, sure I may want to become one, but I will be a really pathetic one. Not evening knowing how to shoot a gun from afar. I would die in an instant.'
Bossk gave her 75 credits. Liz was surprised. He promised 54 credits, not 75.
"Bossk this isn't 54, this is 75," Liz pointed out. Bossk rolled his eyes.
"You would make a really bad bounty hunter," Bossk crossed his arms, his weapon made a noise coming to contact with the wall.
"What?"
"I said you would make a really bad bounty hunter," he said once more. He said it slowly, making his words more clearer.
"Who said I wanted to become bounty hunter?" Liz crossed her arms, copying Bossk.
"I can tell you really enjoyed the rush of being chased. How about this," he offered. He kneeled to her height. "I can train you how to hack into computers, how fight aka kill someone, use a blaster and any type of weapon you of your choice."
Liz was muddled on what he just said. She did like the rush of being chased. He was offering her to be a bounty hunter.
"But wouldn't I be in your way of your assassination and your other business?" Liz questioned. Bossk was about to ask a question he might regret, but it was worth a shot. He saw great potential in her, he knew she would turn out to be a tough person in her future. That of course with the right training.
"Not unless you became my partner."
*Ending of flashback*
