"Why are you helping me" I asked looking at her very much confused

"I understand what you're going through, I was brought here a year ago just like you and the rest girls" she said her back still facing me

"Come with me, we can leave here together" I said genuinely

"I can't come, being brought here was a good thing for me, before I was taken here I had nowhere to go no shelter or food... it isn't as bad as you think" she said facing me with a small smile

"I should get going" she said walking away
"What's your name?" I asked
"Carmen"she said as she reached for the door knob
"I'm Raven" I said still looking at her
"Thank you" that was the only thing I could say as I watched her exit the room and closed the door

As the night drew closer I could feel my heart beating against my rib cage, my hands sweating and my entire body rising in temperature

I looked at the little clock by the bed next to the plate of food a maid had brought in earlier it was 9:03pm few more minutes to go I sat on the bed side my heart still beating loudly
A few minutes later I looked at the clock again it was 9:14

I had about 5 minutes to the the bedsheets to my bed

I tied the sheets to the bed checking it about 3 time to see if it was safe, my heart still beating so loud in my chest I could hear it
I was already dressed in a black jogger, a black easy sneaker and a top I had found in the closet

If there's one thing I learnt from movies it's to wear black in this situation so I could blend with the night

As I checked the clock again it was 9:28 I walked towards the window opened it as I watched the guards moments later they started to walk away I knew it was time

I threw one end of the sheets down thanking God that it was long enough to touch the ground

Taking a mighty deep breath I held onto the sheets and started to slide and climb down the walls my knees hurting as fuck, trying as hard as I could not to make noise
I had no means of knowing the time so I decided to count from 1 to 180

Finally I was down and on the ground I bent down crawling quietly towards the gigantic gate that seemed so far from the building

I walked and hid behind bushes trying my best to stay unnoticed, as I hid behind a bush I saw 3 guards walking towards me
"Holy fuck my times up" I thought to myself as my heart began to beat a thousand times faster than before

I stood behind the tree waiting for them to pass trying to Brett as quietly as I could, i watched as two of the men passed holding guns in their hands

"I'm fucked, shit u should have just stayed in that room Raven"..."shut the fuck up we've come this far, we're getting the fuck out of here" I thought to myself having a small banter in my head

I waited being the bush growing restless as the third guy hadn't pass yet, my hands across my mouth holding tight so my breath would not be heard I stayed there quietly

The third guard finally passed in front of the Bush i was hiding throwing a cigarette towards me it landed on my shoulder and the burn from it almost made me scream

I held onto my mouth squezing to keep myself from screaming as the burn from the cigarette wore off, he finally passed, I removed my hand from my mouth breathing out a sigh of relief

I continued to walk towards the gate as quiet as I could, gently crawling behind the bushes I looked forward only to see a guard holding a huge dog

"Okay NOW you're really fucked" I thought to myself as my pulse began to quicken, i had to get out of here and past that dog and guard as quite as I could... I crawled towards them still behind the bushes hoping neither of them would hear me

I was so close to the gate already just a few more steps I thought to myself trying to build some confidence
As I continue crawling towards the gate still trying to get past the dog nd guard I stepped on a twig and it cracked loud enough for at least the dog to hear

Seconds later the dog stsrted barking stupidly loud catching the guards attention
"I'm done"
I thought to myself as the dog continued barking the brakes sounded nearer and I knew they were walking closer

The gate was just some steps away, I looked at it for what felt like house trying to figure out the best solution at that point
If I stay there's no way that dog and guard won't find me my best option was to run towards to gate but it wasn't opened

"Shit shit shit how did i not think of that earlier" I looked around still trying to figure out something until my eyes caught the fence

This is it the new plan was to run towards that fence as fast as my injured leg could take me flu over that fence and run... I had no idea what was on the other side of that fence but I wasn't gonna let that stop me

As the sound of the dog barking got louder I decided It was time to run
I bolted through the bushes and the trees with the them hot on my trail

Soon after I could hear more dogs barking and I knew it wasn't just one guard after me now, I ran straight towards the fence jumping and craving the edge as the dogs barked from behind me

If I hadn't jump sooner they would have caught me I jumped over the fence only to see more trees, landing on my bad knee
The pain excruciatingly cursing through my body

I screamed so loud feeling like my knee was just stabbed with a fucking knife, I ran as fast as I could into the woods brushing passed trees and bushes

The barrier between me and the men gave me a little while to run further from them
Minutes latter I could hear the dogs barking and I knew they were close I kept running but my knee was slowing me down

I knew would never be able to outrun them i decide to climb a tree and wait for them to pass

I started climbing the tree tired and in so much pain, I stayed on a branch resting myself on it trying as much as i could to be quite as I saw the men get closer and their touch lights scanning the bushes
