Chapter 6. More than what meets the eye * Edited *
1010 Words
"What?" The voice that Freddy just spoke to me in wasn't my dad's pre-recorded messages! What the heck?
"You know he hates you." He repeated.
"Who does?"
"Who doesn't?"
"Hey! Why are you being mean Freddy! I thought we were friends, but I guess you're just like everyone else. I guess I should have known," Words cannot describe how betrayed I feel right now. I thought I had a real friend finally.
"I don't hate you," His voice started to soften.
"What? You just said you did!" I got defensive.
"No, I said who doesn't, I don't." He let out a little grin, and I felt my heart start to warm up.
"Oh! Well whenever Mark says that, he always means that nobody likes me. Well, I guess that Sarah likes me. Wait, who did you say hated me?"
"Are you stupid?"
"Quit being mean to me!"
"Sean, I'm asking you a question again," He said. He is starting to sound like my dad when I'm having one of my panic attacks.
"Well, Mark says I am. So does Felix, Ken, and Andrew. So, I guess so,"
"They don't sound very nice!"
"They're not, but I still love Mark. We just had a really nice conversation, before they interrupted us. I will always treasure that hug. And at least now I know why Mark hates me so much now."
"Why do you still love your brother?" Ok, now he's starting to sound like Dr. Jhonson. Who takes big x-rays of my brain to see if I'm normal yet.
"Well, he's my only brother. He keeps me company. And when he smiles, I don't know. It reminds me that everyone deserves a second chance, and that there still is good in everybody." I smiled, recalling his smiling face.
"You are a special boy Sean." He smiled.
"Why do you call me Sean?"
"Well, isn't that your name?"
"Well, I guess so, but everyone calls me Jack, or Jacky."
"Oh. Well I guess I knew that. Would you like me to call you Jack?"
"Um, I actually want you to call me Sean. Youre the only one who I want to." I smiled, stroking his soft ear.
"Hey Freddy, can you walk?"
"Nope! I can only talk. I guess that's a flaw I have," He said, looking to his squishy paw.
"Well, everyone has those. I'll just carry you around. When dad is ready, I'll have him fix you up." I smiled, running my tear stained thumb over his ear.
"That sounds amazing! Say, I think your father is calling for you,"
"Jack, someone is here to see you!" I heard my dad call from the den.
"H-How did you do that?" I asked, feeling weird.
"Don't worry about it Sean. Go see what your father wants," His smile got a little creepy.
"Oh, ok. I'm going to put you on the bed, and I want you to rest." I said, laying his soft head on my pillow, and covering him up in my soft "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle," blanket, then I waked out into the den.
I saw dada with his bright eyes red, and puffy. And beside him, was Sarah, with her dad.
"Hello Sarah! Hello Mr. Fong," Her dad is really nice, I like him.
"Hello Sean," He responded with a smile. I cringed when he said my real name.
"Only Freddy can call me that," I responded quietly, not wanting him to hear me.
"Oh! I'm sorry Jack. Tell Freddy I'm sorry too." He said, with real sincerity in his eyes. One of the things I really like about Mr. Fong, is that he treats me like a real person, instead of an idiot, with a mental disorder. I really like him. No wonder why Sarah is such a nice person.
"Jacky, Mr. Fong and Sarah would like to take you out to dinner with them, and then spend the night at Sarah's house. Do you want to do that?" My dad asked, looking directly into my eyes, I could tell that he was obviously uncomfortable. I hope that he wasn't going to yell at Mark.
"Do I need to pack a bag?" I asked. I instantly saw everyone smile, because I agreed to go.
"Um. yeah. Go ahead." Dad said.
"I'll come with you Jacky," Sarah smiled, standing by my side.
"Oh, awesome. Then I'll talk with Vincent about somethings." Mr. Fong smiled, pushing his eyes up into rainbows. I love when he smiled.
He is a VERY handsome man. He is very well cut, with happy eyes. He met dada when we were in the grocery store after we came back from momma's funeral, and he saw me crying, so he bought me a lollypop. I found out that Mr. Fong doesn't have a Mrs. Fong, so Sarah doesn't have a momma either. She doesn't know that momma is dead, and I don't know why she doesn't have a momma. I don't ask, and neither has she. Maybe I'll find out someday.
"Thank you Evan, so what I-" Dad started talking to Mr. Fong, while Sarah and I started walking to my room. When we were walking, we could hear Andrew playing one of his songs. I really like this one.
"You are the main attraction.
Your story must be told.
You are a chain reaction,
That never gets old,"
He has such a nice voice, I love listening to him.
"Who's that?" Sarah asked,"
"That's my brother's friend, Andrew Stein. He has a really nice voice," I smiled, listing to his gentle strum of the guitar.
"He does. Oh! Is this Freddy?" She asked, pointing to him, yet not touching him.
"Yeah! He's really soft, but he's been acting weird lately. He has been talking." Her green eyes were widening with every passing second.
"Your teddy talks too?!"
