Unexpected Guest

"There's someone coming over that I'd like for you to meet." Stone's voice was shaky, his voice was never shaky, he spoke with a firm tone always. Never have I ever seen him so anxious.
Glancing at him from a side angle I set down my book. "Alright then, spit it out."
"I've told my brother Iven. I've told him I've run away, and I wish to not have my mother send search parties day after day to find me. They were so close yesterday."
Pacing about the corridor, with his hands raised to his head, he set them down along his sides, only to lift them again in a hurry. I watched frightened.
"So I've invited him over, for tea. To talk things over, he knows people in the police department as well as my mother.
And the only reason why they're even attempting to turn over tables in my search is because she is a rich, and powerful white woman. And she can hang and dry their careers in a snap of her fingers.
I don't want to leave this place and find somewhere new. But of course that is what should be accepted when you're on the run."
He trailed off in his madness, as I began to rearrange some furniture, I didn't bother saying anything. Usually when he's flustered like this I learned to let it be.
"I'll go make the tea then." I stated, still watching my beloved, think away his happiness.
       "We'll be alright? He'll understand."
"I ju-just don't know what to expect from him. He's my older brother, and when he sees you, he'll think you're the reason behind me leaving.
I won't hide you. Let him see, let him assume, but we know the truth, and that is all that matters. For bloody sakes it's been a year, an entire year since I've left home."
"Well what do you expect from a family that loves, and cares about you Stone? They want to find you, they need to know that you are alright, you're Luna's youngest son! She misses you terribly."
Squinting, and dropping the pillow he had tucked in his hand, he dashed into my space closely. "What?"
"I said your mother misses you."
          "What's my mother's name?"
"I don't know." I lied quickly, mentally stabbing myself for being so careless.
"Don't lie to me dammit, and I'm standing right here, I heard you, you heard you. How do you know her name Grant?"
"If I told you, I'd ruin everything." I could feel my cry burn through my throat, as I shied away from his rage, his soft rage. It wasn't intimidating, he wasn't cold, he was gentle with his anger.
"I cannot meet your brother. He cannot know my name, or where I'm from. I'll hide in the bedroom, or go out into the city but I cannot stay...here. It's dangerous."
His eyes shattered with sadness, as I felt his heart break into two, the look upon his face broke my heart, as my words had so viciously did his.
"But I love you. And I want you there with me, at least if you were-,"
There was a knock on the door. Stone's eyes blinked with a sorrowful blink of understanding, as he rolled his shoulders back, and turned to open up.
      "Go then. Just go."
"Don't hate me."
"Please go Grant. I'll do it on my own."
Running to the opposite direction, I felt my heart pound in my chest with regret, what have I done?
But I was more concerned with had I have stayed, what I would have done.
