Back To Reality

Finn Cole as Joss

Coco Jones as Abby Halloway

Phone Tonkin as Eliza

I stood still in the crisp air as Joss, grabbed me from behind and lifted me. Abby Halloway, and Eliza walked towards us with smiles on their faces and; their lunch trays wobbling in their constant moving hands.
The image of Stone was stabbed forcefully into my sight as I glanced dully at them. Unmoved by their happiness that they think I'm coming to, as well to join them for lunch.
That I've forgotten where I was all of that time.
To my torture, I haven't.
I didn't fight his hold, instead I just sunk deeply into it. Noticing my dead weight, he scooped my legs over into his arms, and carried me back to our booth.
I was doing my best to get better. To see life in a whole new light without Stone's to lead me into the right path. But it just seemed to be the darkness of my sadness prohibiting me from doing so.
Joining us at the booth, Abby slid her way through across from me, as Eliza did the same.
"We're going to go see Luna today Grant, would you like to come along?"
Like an owl hearing its prey, my ears cooked a sound, causing my body to move suspiciously. "She says she's got some news for us and is very excited to share. I thought it'd be something good for you to actually be able to go out somewhere; besides being trapped at school and home."
My cousin protested as she forked her food over and over again, the sound becoming a dreadful nuisance. I cringed and looked away.
"Sure why not, everyone seems to know what's best for me now a days. I suppose it's about time to finally come to agreeing. I'm too weak to keep putting up a fight anymore. I give up."
"It's been three months Grant! We don't know what happened... you just came back all sad. We're just trying to help you, like you always help us. We're your friends, and your family. We won't harbor your secrets just to turn away and use them to hurt you."
Without a word, I slid out of the open space Joss left, and walked away.
The hundreds of voices filling my ears to the brim of annoyance; as my boot stomped loudly enough with a statement.
I wanted to be left alone.
