A New Home
I felt guilty in a way, giving you the green light to run away, maybe it was me all along that stole you away from your home. Away from your family, all that you knew, your mother.
If I should ever return back to my time what will I tell her, what could I tell Luna without looking like a complete nut case?
"This is a place I've been building. This isn't the first time I've snuck out of my home,"
He never mentioned that in his diaries. Perhaps it was the sole reason that Luna would someday come across them. He left the good details and hid the ones a mother wouldn't be able to bare. I followed him, to a place many would've thought to be hidden, in plain sight.
It was beautiful.
"This is going to be our new home. You and I, looks over the water. It's a lovely sight huh?" We crossed a bridge, and caught two busses to get here, I didn't even think we were in Birmingham anymore.
"How'd you build this by yourself?"
For a moment I thought of HGTV, YouTube tutorials, and everything a twenty- first century teenager would do. But I've realized, he isn't one.
He was just Stone.
It was two stories high, with a balcony overlooking the view of the outskirts of the city we knew.
It was built with bricks, and care, there wasn't a deformity amongst anything. It was a little home, quiet, peaceful, seeming far away from the cruel world he lives in.
"Come, let's go inside, it's warm there." Letting out his hand I grabbed it quickly, it was warm.
It wasn't affected by the cold weather, he wore no gloves, they were as raw as honey, and the warming touch of his skin against mine warmed my freezing heart.
I didn't want to let it go.
But in due time it wasn't by choice, I was forced to let you go.
