The only noise in the room was the steady rhythm of Karkat's heart monitor. He layed there with a peaceful expression, which was completely off in this situation. You and Sollux sat down in the chair by his bed, you sitting on his lap again and watching him, waiting for the doctor to come back. Exactly ten minutes had passed when Doctor Miller came into the room, holding a clip board. He cleared his throat, actually gaining your attention. "The patient will live. He had fallen ill with a common human illness in his throat, but since he is a troll- and a mutant blooded one at that- his body is unaccostomed to our illnesses. Somehow choking on a lego led to him cutting his throat, and had you not gotten the object out of his throat, Miss (l/n), he most likely would have died." by now you were nearly sobbing in relief. "however, he will not be able to talk for a long while, nor will he be able to eat anything correctly, so we must keep him here, and possibly move him to ICU if his condition worsens." he readjusted Karkat's IV and turned back to the two of you. "you two may stay here, since you seem to be very close to him and he will be waking up soon. Thank you for your patience, and being strong." He smiled gently and held out two lollipops, and even though it was childish, you and Sollux each took one. Sollux nodded at the doctor and shook his hand again. "Thank you 2o much for helpiing KK, and allowiing u2 two 2tay here. iit mean2 2o much two u2." he nudged you lightly and, to his surprise, you jumped up and hugged the doctor, saying "thank you so so much" before sitting back down on Sollux's lap and taking the lollipop, placing it in your mouth and beginning to intensely stare at Karkat. The doctor chuckled with a small smile and left the room.

Sollux wrapped his arms around your waist "you doiing better now?" he asked gently,to which you nodded. "much better, thanks to you. i-I would've probably had a panic attack if you hadn't told me what to do... thank you Sollux." you said sincerely, holding the lollipop in one hand and turning around to sit more comfortably-straddling him- and wrapping your arms around his neck, pulling him into a chaste kiss. Breaking away you gave a close-eyed smile. "flushed for ya, Sol" you cooed.
