New Feelings
Janet: Atlanta, 2001
After meeting each other, Tyler and I decided to head down to the new café for lunch. As we entered, I noticed that it was almost empty which was a good thing.
We took a seat at the far booth on the right side so we could have a little privacy.
"So," Tyler began, "What made you want to be in my movie?" When he asked that I thought about telling him the truth, that I was tired of the performing, the singing, and the dancing, but I didn't feel like getting into that topic so I told him different.
"After reading the script I fell in love with Patricia's Part. I felt as if she was apart of me and that I could really relate to her."
He smiled,"Well I'm glad you like the part, I already know you'll be amazing."
Our food had finally came and we ate quietly. As I was eating I thought about how when he smiled it made my heart flutter. It was just so perfect and beautiful. When we got done eating he suggested we take a walk through the park. We paid for the food and stopped for ice cream, then began walking.
"This is beautiful." I said, amazed
"I agree," said Tyler, "Me and my mother used to walk through this park when I was younger. She would always let me run around for hours then we would sit, she would talk and I would listen."
I could tell by how his eyes glowed when he talked about his mother that he loved her.
"Really, what would she tell you?" I asked.
"About how to treat women, how to love them. She would always tell me you can tell a woman is right for you when she looks at you and her eyes glow with love" he answered
As he told me that I noticed how his mood changed from happy to passionate. I could tell he would or was making someone happy.
But I figured out quickly that I was wrong.
"She told me love doesn't come in a whole. You have to work for it and with her to earn that bond of love. Hopefully one day I can find the right woman."
After hearing him say he didn't have a woman in his life I was surprised, but I also felt some relief for some unknown reason. Then he asked me about my life.
"So what about you Miss Jackson if your nasty", I giggled at that and he continued, " Who's the lucky man in your life?"
"No one actually, I've been single for a while, can't seem to find the right man."
We stopped at the end of the path and turned to each other. He grabbed my hands and held them. When he did that I had a sudden feeling of warmness again, and I liked it.
"Well, since your single and I'm single, you should let me take you on a date."
I smiled, but I didn't know if I was ready to be involved with another man again after what happened last time. As I thought about it he decided to start walking us back to the studio.
He noticed how quiet I had became and said, "I'm sorry if i made you feel uncomfortable back there. I understand if you don't want to go out on a date."
"No its not you, its just that I haven't been out on a date in a while." I told
"Well what about I just make it a friendly date. Saturday 7 o'clock?"
I thought about it, then I just decided to go. One little date couldn't hurt. Right?
"Okay, I'll go."
"Great I'll pick you up, Saturday 7 o'clock remember" There goes that smile again.
"Can't forget" I smiled
He gave me a hug and made sure I got in the car safely, then we exchanged numbers so we could talk more.
When I got home I went straight upstairs and took a shower. Then I got into bed and watched some TV. Right before I went to sleep my phone went off, it was a text from Tyler.
"Goodnight Beautiful"
And those were the two words that made my night complete.
