BLAU HAD somehow worked up the guts to ask Meena to hang out alone though her stream would be present as he didn't truly know how to ask the girl out on a proper date. He mentioned in passing on doing an IRL stream (idea from Foolish who'd mentioned he'd been planning to do one with Luna but their plans weren't planning like they wanted) and Rae suggested that he ask Meena to join him.

So now, the two of them sat in a small, local bakery. It currently had been the two of them and the workers there who stood nonchalantly, in their own conversations as Meena smiled at her phone, squinting her eyes as chat flew by.

"I should've brought my glasses." She muttered. She sat upright, Blau sitting next to her with his arm slung over her chair. "Chat, we are trying different macarons." She held the small plate up for her chat to see, a small smile painted on her lips. "They have so many flavors. We got one of each."

Meena smiled, grabbing one and holding it towards her phone. "Like this one, is Snickers." she placed it back down on the plate, picking up another one. "And this one is..." She looked over, Blau now sitting upright, but his arm still on the back of her chair. "Do you remember this one?"

"Fruity Pebbles I think." He chuckled. "Or Lemon. Chat, we've been here for like, an hour because they had to make some for us."

Meena laughed, the sound soft and familiar, and for a moment, Blau felt a rush of warmth spread through him. It was hard not to smile when she did; everything about today felt like a step into something new, even with chat buzzing in the background. The bakery's cozy ambiance wrapped around them, the scent of sugar and fresh pastries filling the air, making the moment feel almost too perfect.

username: can we get more irl streams please
ellum: atta boy!
username: anyone know what this place called

"So basically, it's gonna be like, a Good Mythical Morning video where we bite it and rank but on a scale of one through ten and we will crown the winner at the end." Meena explained. "We have forty to try and we will be cleansing our palates with water."

Meena grabbed one at random, squinting her eyes. "I think this one is Strawberry Cheesecake."

She broke the macaron in half, holding the piece out for him to take. Blau took the piece of macaron from Meena's hand, their fingers brushing just slightly.

Their eyes met for a moment, and she caught the faintest smile tugging at his lips. Chat buzzed away on her phone, but the noise felt distant compared to the warmth between them.

"Alright, cheers," Blau said, holding his macaron up like a toast. They took a bite at the same time, their faces close enough that she could catch a hint of his cologne mixed with the sweetness in the air. Meena tried to focus on the taste, but the way his eyes lit up as he chewed was more distracting than she cared to admit.

"Holy shit." Meena muttered, covering her mouth as she chewed. "That's really good." She chuckled.

Blau's smile widened, unable to hold back his own laugh at her enthusiasm. "Solid eight for me," He declared, looking at her.

"Eight?!" Meena's eyes widened in disbelief, and she nearly choked on another laugh. "Are you serious? This is a ten, hands down. You have shitty taste buds."

"Oh, I have great taste," he shot back, leaning in just slightly, his arm still resting on the back of her chair. The gesture was casual, but the closeness of it made the air between them crack. "I just haven't found my ten yet."

tinakitten: i'm hungry bring me some back please!!!

The way he said it made her pause, her playful smile faltering for just a moment as she searched his face. There was something in his tone, the way his eyes held hers.

Her heart thudded in her chest, loud enough that she wondered if he could hear it.

"Well," she said, trying to steer the moment back to safe territory, "maybe this next one will change your mind." She picked up a light brown macaron and handed half to him, her fingers grazing his as he took it. The touch felt deliberate this time, like neither of them was in a hurry to pull away.

"I think this is French Toast?" She muttered.

They both took a bite, their faces naturally leaning closer as they chewed and shared amused, knowing glances. The taste was warm and rich, with hints of cinnamon and maple. Meena's eyes widened slightly, the subtle sweetness catching her by surprise.

She fluttered her eyes shut, her hand hovering over her mouth as she nodded. She let out a small laugh through her nose and opened her eyes to look at Blau.

"You rate it first." She muttered.

For a moment, they were both silent, just looking at each other as the noise of the bakery came back into focus around them.

"Ten," he said quietly, his eyes never leaving hers.

She laughed, the sound soft and surprised. "You're kidding."

He shook his head, his smile reaching his eyes. "Nope. This one's a ten."

The taste of the French Toast macaron still lingered, but she barely registered it now. All she could think about was the way Blau was looking at her, as if he could see past her playful banter, past the lighthearted mask she always wore. The bakery around them seemed to blur, the buzzing chatter, the distant clatter of plates, even the endless comments flying by on her phone—none of it mattered.

Why does this feel so different? she wondered, feeling a mix of excitement and fear twist in her stomach. Moments like this—when his smile softened, when his eyes held hers just a beat longer than necessary—made it hard to deny. It was like seeing him for the first time all over again, the guy who could make her laugh effortlessly and steady her with just one look.

He saw the way her smile faltered and then returned, softer this time. The way her eyes darted down and back up, as if she were trying to read him as much as he was trying to read her.

Meena began to laugh, almost nervously as she leaned back, her hand still covering her mouth as she leaned out of frame to laugh.

"Why are you laughing?" Blau asked, his smile almost reaching his cheeks as he sat back in his seat.

Meena absentmindedly, put her hand out. She didn't show it often, but she quite literally vocalized her nervousness with laughter. It could be a serious situation, a serious topic at hand and she would laugh when she didn't know how to respond or know what to say.

She waved her hand around, still laughing, but she was in search of his hand which she finally found.

Blau's eyes widened slightly at the contact, his fingers instinctively curling around hers. The laughter between them softened, the playful edge giving way to a quiet, shared moment. Her skin was warm, and he could feel the slight tremor in her touch. It made his heart stutter, but he held onto her hand, grounding them both.

"I'm trying to figure out if you're serious about that ten," she said, a playful lilt in her voice.

She was lying, no doubt, but he didn't know that and the hell if her chat even knew.

"You're laughing because I gave it a ten?" He questioned, a small chuckle leaving him.

Meena sniffled, letting go of his hand to use her own to tap the corner of her eyes. "You gave the first one an eight and I think that this is like... a six at best."

"At best!?" He exclaimed.

After tasting at least fifteen more, they decided to call it quits, they packed the rest up for the others to try, ended the stream, tipped the workers hefty, and began their walk home as Meena didn't live far from the bakery.

Meena held the pink box in her hands as she and Blau stepped in sync. The sounds of the L.A. trees rustling in the soft evening breeze filled the space between them. The streets were quieter now, bathed in the warm glow of street lamps that cast long, gentle shadows along the pavement. Meena could still taste the faint sweetness of their last macaron on her lips, but more than that, she felt the tingling warmth from earlier, when their laughter had softened into something deeper.

It didn't take long for them to arrive at the apartment. The sounds of everyone inside laughing could be heard.

"Thanks for today," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. The words felt heavier than they should have, but there was no taking them back.

Blau's eyes searched hers, a quiet intensity in his gaze that made everything else fade away—the laughter, the breeze, even the pink box she clutched so tightly.

"You don't have to thank me. I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else," he replied, his voice low, like a secret. "Today was... good," he said as his smile softened.

She nodded, the motion small, almost uncertain. "It was," she whispered, feeling the tightness in her chest as the air between them seemed to crackle. The night was cool, but a warmth spread through her that had nothing to do with the temperature.

Meena's eyes dropped to his mouth and back up to meet his eyes, an unspoken question hanging in the air. He seemed to notice, his own gaze darting down for just a moment before locking onto hers again.

Her breath caught, and she wondered if he could feel her pulse pounding as loudly as she could. The laughter from inside grew louder, a burst of joy that made the moment feel even more suspended, caught between now and whatever could come next.

Is this really happening? The question echoed in her mind, drowned out by the thrum of anticipation. She could feel the warmth of his breath now, close enough that the scent of sugar and cinnamon from the bakery still lingered between them. Time seemed to slow, each second stretching out endlessly as he leaned in, just enough for their foreheads to almost touch.

Meena's mind raced, caught between the thrill of the moment and the nerves that threatened to break it. The laughter inside swelled again, snapping her back to reality for a brief second, but she didn't pull away. Neither did he. Instead, his eyes met hers again, searching, waiting, the unspoken question hanging between them.

Do I close the gap? The thought danced at the edge of her mind, tempting and terrifying all at once. She wasn't sure who moved first, whether it was him or her, but the distance between them felt thinner than a breath, the moment balanced on the edge of possibility.

"Meena," he whispered, her name more of a breath than a word. It was enough to make her heart flutter, to make her realize that the answer was right there, waiting.

But before either of them could make that final move, the front door opened with a burst, and Rae poked her head out. The two of them stepping apart as Meena plastered a smile on her face.

"Hey, what's taking so long?" Tina called, poking her head underneath Rae's arm, grinning as she spotted the box. "Do you have our treats, or did you two eat everything?"

Meena laughed, breaking the moment as she raised the box slightly. "Relax, we saved some for you guys."

Meena stepped inside, Blau following in as Meena handed the box over to Tina, the girl skipping into the living room with the others to share whatever Blau and Meena left for them.

As for Meena, she made her way upstairs with Rae by her side, muttering in her ear as she followed.

"Did I fuck up?" She asked. "Were you two having, like, a moment-"

"No." Meena said quickly. "It's fine."

"You sure everything's good? You look like you've just run a marathon," she teased.

Meena exhaled a laugh, shaking her head as if to brush it off. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just... it's been a day," she said.

Rae tilted her head, her smirk softening into something more understanding. "You know, you don't have to say it, but if you need to talk about whatever 'almost' just happened out there, I'm here." She gave Meena a playful nudge before disappearing down the stairs, her voice mingling with the rest as she joined the others.

As for Blau, Ellum had dragged him out of the living, his hands clamping down on his shoulders.

"Alright, spill," Ellum said, dropping his hands and leaning against the counter with his arms crossed. "You two were out there for a while, and judging by the look on your face, something went down."

Blau's mouth quirked up into a half-smile, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. "It's complicated," he muttered, shoving his hands into his pockets. He glanced at the doorway where the noise from the living room spilled through. Meena's laughter reached his ears, soft and familiar, making his chest tighten. "You know how it is."

Ellum scoffed, shaking his head. "Yeah, I know exactly how it is," he admitted, his tone uncharacteristically serious. "You spend all your time thinking about what could happen and never actually do anything about it."

Blau turned, surprised at the weight in Ellum's voice. "Wait, are we still talking about me and Meena?" he asked, eyes narrowing with curiosity.

Ellum looked away for a moment, his jaw tightening before he exhaled a laugh, low and self-deprecating. "Yeah, maybe we're talking about both of us," he admitted, the confession hanging in the air between them.

Blau sighed. "We're so fucked."

Ellum held a tight lip, nodding his head as he patted Blau's back once more and made his way back into the living room.

So fucked.
